Overlanding Arizona: Camping on the Edge of a Canyon in Flagstaff
It's been a minute since I put out a video so I figured I owed everyone some epic views, a life update, and some drone footage. Life has certainly been busy lately. My travels have landed me in Prescott Arizona where I live full-time. I've been working for an awesome off-road shop who's channel I linked below. With my new off-road rig, I'll be doing a lot more traveling and videos, so thanks for sticking with me!

Overlanding Arizona's Backcountry: Our Roughest Trail Yet Led Us To A Hot Spring!
มุมมอง 2.2K2 ปีที่แล้ว
In this episode, we made our way down the infamous Bloody Basin Rd, which led us down a challenging and rocky trail. This was by far the roughest trail that we had driven in a long while, with large rocks, potholes, and the occasional vehicle left abandoned. The back pain and dust were worth it though! We managed to find a beautiful site just below the Sheep's Bridge. A few days of exploring le...
Overlanding Arizona: Lake Pleasant Beach Camping
มุมมอง 6K2 ปีที่แล้ว
In this video, we went back to Lake Pleasant. The first trip we took to Lake Pleasant we didn't record, however, we both fell in love with it and you'll quickly see why. It was full of wildlife, from Burros to Coyotes, bass, lizards, and even a California Kingsman snake (you can see him on our Instagram @psoverland). As always, thanks for tuning in and watching our videos. Please consider subsc...
Overlanding Arizona: Apache Lake to The Salt River
มุมมอง 22K2 ปีที่แล้ว
Our first overlanding trip in the @ford F150 has been completed! We got our feet wet on the infamous Apache Trail. After spending a couple of days on the windy shores of Apache Lake, we set off to find somewhere more secluded. It wasn't long after leaving the lake that we found ourselves on the dusty banks of the Salt River. We were able to try out for the first time our @LeitnerDesigns bed rac...
New Mexico National Parks: Carlsbad Caverns & White Sands

In this video, we make our way to both the Carlsbad Caverns and White Sands located in southern New Mexico. We managed to see both these incredible places within a day of each other, staying at a rest area in Texas along the way. The caverns are a must if you're in the area. Filming them doesn't seem to do the grandeur justice and there was so much to see that we didn't end up recording. White ...

    Hi, Can you tell me if there is a road that goes down to the lake area from the BLM staging area? How close to the lake can we get with a 26' RV? What I was wondering is if we could boondock above at the BLM area, put our boat in the water at the south ramp and drive it over to the NE side of the lake and park the boat there for the weekend and have access to it from the BLM area. Drive our truck as close to the water as we can get to access the boat?

    • @PineStateOverland

      I would not advise bringing an RV down this road in the slightest. I was also told that its recently been closed to vehicle traffic as well. You'll have to check with the park to make sure it's open for recreation.

    Isn't it annoying to havemto keep going back for the camera? I can tell you that even 60 years ago we knew not to head "up north" on Memorial Day. WAY too many people. In AZ, and pretty much everywhere I have ever been trails are what you either walk or ride dirt bikes on, whereas roads take cars/trucks. Lastly, sorry to be a pest, but what is "overlanding"?

    • @PineStateOverland
      @PineStateOverland 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      To answer your questions, sure it can be a little tedious to snag the camera after each shot but it gets me out and moving around so its a great way to get my steps in and enjoy nature. I was actually shocked I was able to find a space all to myself on that weekend, like you said, that's usually not the case. Sure trails could refer to a lot of different things. On the west coast, a lot of folks refer to off-road roads as trails rather than on the east coast where they're called "unimproved roads" or skidder roads. Overlanding, to put it simply, is vehicle based adventure travel, kind of a blend of both off-roading and camping. There's a lot that goes into it but the premise is self-reliance and exploring remote places with some of the added luxuries of home like onboard power for charging devices and running accessories, water, onboard air for airing up tires after airing down, a fridge and cooking/kitchen system, communications and sometimes even a roof top tent. I always used to say, before I knew what overlanding was, I just called it camping. This is just camping with your vehicle which is outfitted to provide you with both convenience and security/safety when out exploring nature.

    • @PineStateOverland
      @PineStateOverland 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I guess that would depend on how you intend on moving. For me, I was a Sheriff's Deputy for a couple of years, had a change of heart and decided to pursue a creative career centered around my passion for photography and video. I sold my house, bought a camper, and traveled, meeting as many people as I could along the way. I was constantly reaching out to companies to offer my freelance services which definitely helped fill the gas tank and keep the trip moving. When I landed in Arizona, I decided to attend Overland Expo in Flagstaff, my first expo. It was there that I met the crew from Summit 4x4 Company and after inquiring as to whether or not they needed some marketing help, was offered their Marketing Manager position. For me it was kind of go with the flow, so plan on having some things not go as you would expect but make the most of those moments because that's where the opportunities come from. I met some incredible people on the road and wouldn't change a thing if given the choice to do it all over again. If you'd like to chat some more about it or have some questions, feel free to shoot me an email at PSOverland@gmail.com. Safe Travels!!

    I live out of my Suby Outback…..just spent a month in the Ponderosa Pine Forests (the Cicinino National Forest) southeast of Flag….it gets pretty boring….nothing but pine trees, very few bird species, not much wildlife at all, and lots of volcanic rock everywhere. The good thing, though, is no mice or rats, no bears…..so I could leave food in my Clam Quikset shelter and nothing ever bothered it. You look like you are not far from Sedona…your spot looks nice

      That's awesome! Depending on the time of year, you'll see lots of elk out that way. Desert wildlife can be elusive for sure! Safest of travels to you!

    Nice camp spot. Can it be reached in a van?

    • @PineStateOverland
      @PineStateOverland ปีที่แล้ว

      It would depend on the van. If you've got something lifted with a recovery option should you need it I think you probably could. There were some low hanging trees I'd be concerned about though.

    It’s funny I see this video today. I was telling someone about you yesterday and listed off the vehicles you’ve had since I met you and said “I don’t even know what he’s driving now”

      Haha that's awesome. Tacoma, F150, Hilux, 2003 4Runner, 2010 Tundra, 2018 4Runner. I think i'm sticking with this one though, although I miss that Hilux every day.

    Milwaukee Packets for the win! I use 2 of the 2 drawer boxes currently 🙂

      They’re the best. Super versatile. Will be integrating them somehow in the seat delete/platform I’m building.

      @@PineStateOverland Trying to come up with something similar with my '04 Disco. I want to come up with a removable sleeping platform for solo trips that keeps the packout drawers under it on a slide out.
