We Ran Aground!!!
มุมมอง 4014 ปีที่แล้ว
We loaded up the skis and headed north to Stuart. It was a gorgeous day. Ate lunch at the Sailors Return. Then headed for the sandbar. The sandbar was spectacular. We had a few brews and a cigar, then went cruising. Thats when we ran aground. I accidentally left my camera on and caught the footage. See it here!!!

We had a gorgeous day on the water on our 2013 RXP-X and 2020 Waverunner FX. We met our friend Jamie and spent a few hours at the sandbar. Listened to tunes, had a cigar and some beers then loaded up and headed to Fort Pierce Inlet. Unfortunately one of our skis sprung a leak and we had to ride tandem back to Stuart. It all made for a fun adventure that we will talk about for years.

No More Lock down!!! It was a gorgeous day so we had to get out of the house. We headed to the closest open boat ramps by us and put the skis in the water. The water and the weather was spectacular as we hung out on the sandbars and were even able to grab some take out lunch on the water.

Riva Power Filter, Free Flow Exhaust, and MaptunerX Stage1 ECU Flash review. 2020 Yamaha FX SVHO
มุมมอง 12K4 ปีที่แล้ว
2020 Yamaha Waverunner FX SVHO. We installed a Riva Power filter kit, and a Riva free flow exhaust. I go to the lake to test and see what kind of power gains I received. I already had an ECU flash, Pro sponsons, and a Riva ride plate. It was a noticeable difference in performance by freeing up the engines breathing capabilities. I gained about 2 mph overall top speed but the torque gains were r...
How to install a Riva Intake manifold upgrade kit on a SeaDoo without removing the Intake Manifold.
มุมมอง 5K4 ปีที่แล้ว
The whole job took us about 30 minutes to complete. We used an exacto knife to start the pilot hole in the center. Just keep drilling the exacto until it poked through the other side. Then hand drilled with the hole saw provided in the kit. Use a screwdriver to work around the edges of the filter until your able to move it out of the hole. We had to cut the filter in half with a hacksaw blade t...
Waverunner and SeaDoo from Jupiter to Stuart

Temperatures were in the 60's as we left Burt Reynolds Park in Jupiter Florida and cruised North to Stuart. There was many no wake zones which extended the time. It was a full day of sunshine, and great friends living the South Florida life style we love. We cruised on our 2020 waverunner FX SVHO, and 2013 Seadoo RXP-X 260. My camera died so we only had footage from one ski. Waverunner mods inc...

No afr issues...?
Great video, you were able to capture how good the ski turns with the sponsons. great post. thanks
Nice shortcut!! If you pull the intake manifold off just save a buck and rip it out through the throttle body side, PITA tho....
Mabey my next upgrade. I have2020 GP Gen 2 grate and gen 2 plate machined by Jim. Major Ski Change!
Why are you wearing a mask?
For sun protection. This was filmed way before covid came about.
That’s not true about the digital display I have a 2021 GP1800R Riva tune with intake and ride plate my ski goes as high as 81MPH with the digital display
Oh my god !! The metal shavings all over the engine bay. Dam!
Still holding up good? Do you think the mod was worth it?
Its my buddies ski. We go riding all the time and his ski mechanically is tip top.
@@southflorida4life930 awesome, do you know how fast his runs with all the mods he has?
Yes, he is running about 73mph here in south florida on a hot day. He has a tune, prop, k&n intake filter, updated echaust, oil can, and the filter delete
@@southflorida4life930 Thats good, I know he has this, riva power filter and sounds like free flow exhaust? Tune?
@@TheDevin918 riva stage 1
How good are these sponsons? I am running Stage 1….hitting 74.2 mph on low octane tune.
I love them. You can make turns as aggressively as you want with no slippage. Or, put your trim up and its a bit more forgiving.
Thoughts on a water box paired with the free flow?
I don't know enough about it to comment. But I can tell you Im still using the stock water box and my ski is not lacking power at all. Actually I think it would be a waist of money for me.
Thank you for the video, beautiful Ski. I bought a 2021 FX SVHO, and I was wondering how much shim you had to use on the ride plate to eliminate that Tonge bounce? How thick were the washers you used? Did you still use the clear silicone on the install with the shims in place? Do you know what the torque spec is for the screws when installing new plate? Sorry for all the questions, any help would be great. Thank you kindly!!Keep the vids coming especially with the new impeller, and the ride plate shimmed...
if you notice any improvements, better gas reception, speed + ????
I just bought a new 2021 fx svho ???? Why all that just for 4 to 5 mph more you don’t seam to be able to ride it at that speed comfortably you look like your holding on for dear life???? Doesn’t seem to be fun to me???
It is. The mid range torque is awsome. But hey, to each is own.
What is the filter actually use for?
Seadoo doesn’t have a filter in the air box so they designed it into the intake manifold and made it so you can’t change it for service. Deleting it adds 1psi of boost and more flow!
@@evotech_built Seadoo call it an Flame Arrestor and to even out the air flow to all Intake Runners
What rpm tune is this and what rpm does the ski show
Not sure exactly but at full speed I believe Im in the 8000's for rpms
Does the dashboard read past 70 MPH
No. You have to use gps.
With the RIVA ride plate, you're freeing up a LOT of hull drag (as the factory plate was designed to slow the FX down). This means that at WOT (wide open throttle) your SVHO is now going to be actively bouncing off of the rev. limiter. On glass, this can literally feel like the nose is bouncing, as the engine is scrubbing boost. Definitely have the ECU reflashed by RIVA. We suggest the Stock 8000 tune, as it removes the speed limiter and boost signal, but keeps the factory tune.
With the new Yamaha digital dash does the MPH not go over 70?
My digital display does not go over 70mph. I have to use gps speed
Hey how do you like the speakers ? loud enough when going at speeds ? would you say its worth $400
I have them along with the sub. Sub is so so. The speakers are great even at high speeds
Nice ski - I am modding a 2017 FX SVHO. - Worx Racing hull thru Exhaust - Worx Ribbon Delete - Riva Top loader intake grate - Riva Sponsons - Vtech Tuning Custom Ride Plate - 10spi, 7,600rpm stock - 75mph
Typo* 76mph with the ribbon delete. Factory airbox, paper filter, stock prop and tune - For now 😉
Music needed to be a notch louder, i didnt want to hear the ski 🤦♂️🙄🙄
Lot of porpoising, do you have in a full tank fuel ? The riding plate is trying raise the bow fighting against a full tank of fuel or maybe your over trimming ! Looks great though !
I probably did. I always fill up before I go riding. I ended up shimming the rear of the ride plate and it fixed it.
What’s the top speed of both skis with the new upgrades? Which one is faster Hull shot and top end? What are some things you like and dislike about your Yamaha ski and things you like and dislike about his ski. Thanks!
Both skis hall ass. I've had the yamaha up to 75.9 mph before I adjusted tge ride plate. Not sure of top speed of the Seadoo but when at full throttle side by side the yamaha slowly pulls away. Too much to list here on likes and dislikes between the two. But both skis have positives and negatives. If your thinking of buying one. Take your time and check them both out fully.
South Florida 4 Life Leaning toward the 2021 Yamaha SVHO Limited. One more question I’ve heard from many people that Yamaha quoted an incorrect top speed from the factory. People say they are 5 mph and even faster then Yamaha says, is this true? Thanks for the reply
@@ttvdecimatedbyme9130 From the factory stock they have a speed limiter that keeps them at a top speed of about 69 mph. Once you get a tune it will delete the speed limiter. So you may gain a mph or 2 depending on other factors (weight etc.) Plus there are other mods you can do to make them even faster. Do some research. You can get as crazy as you want. All depends on how much money you want to spend.
What is your top speed?
75.9 mph that was when it was chilly out. The other day I was out and I could barely get over 70 mph. But, I shimmed my ride plate down in order to get rid of tge bouncing at high speeds. The shimming alone shaved off some top end.
Did you have to cut the lower muffler hose? To get the pipe to fit? I have the same ski .
Its been awhile since the install but I Believe I did cut the rubber exhaust that exits out the back of the ski.
You need to delete the rebbone to acelerate more faster
Sound like you spent about a 1000 us for a small gain and lost your warranty i will keep my new one stock and save some cash Nice video stay safe
Its been over a year and I have not had a single issue with this ski. The upgrades I did cost some cash but it is well worth it to me. The performance gains are incredible. Do it! Its worth it.
I’m getting the same one Tuesday at Riva! Thanks for these vids! You know who I am! ...YO!
Congrats! Your going to love it. YO! Yes, I know who you are.
South Florida 4 Life YO!!!!!!
South Florida 4 Life I was going to do stage 1 with RIva and I asked Will that potentially void my warranty they said yes anytime they flash the ECU there is a potential for Yamaha to deny warranty. So I said well I don’t think it’s worth taking a chance over gaining an additional 5 - 7 mph. If RIva said the stage 1 upgrade would not potential void my warranty with Yamaha then I would have considered. ...YO!
Great video! How long did that trip take to Boca?
Not long, about 20 min.
How many hours can you get out of that ski(fuel wise)
It depends on how hard your riding. Ive taken it 60 miles without having to fill up before.. But I was low on fuel. My average fuel consumption sais 5.4 mpg
Great vids I took free flow exhaust off to dam loud went back to stock
Yeah its loud at certain rpms.
Howd you take it off? Don’t u need to cut pipes?
@@ethanmittler3682I went with worx free flow no cutting with that one
I did the free flow on a VXR and the drone was so bad I took it off after the first ride. This mod is not worth the next to little if any gain.
Nice video very helpful.
What type/brand registration numbers did you buy for the FX SVHO Limited? The color match is great.
I went to a local Graphics business in my area.
@@southflorida4life930 Well looks great! Any chance you can find out the CMYK or RGB color match they used? I want to replicate this look.
When I went to the graphics shop I used what ever vinyl the had that was close to the blue I wanted.. I just eyeballed it
Any issues with debris getting in the intake from the hole saw? Great job, it looked pretty easy!
No issues. The ski runs great.
Nice video bro 🤙🤙🤙 when we gonna ride
Lol... soon hopefully
My ski don’t go near beach on trailer or far enough from shore not to be on bottom sand paper to the pump
Sand and pwc dont belong in same sentence
Don't look at your hull after that beaching! Yamaha now uses auto one stage paint that scratches by looking at it wrong lol.
Yes I have some scratches... But I guess it comes with the territory.
Listen to the wife don’t hurt your back can’t put you out on comp anymore! Stuart looks A+ > Broward! 🏝
Lol, That's great advice! Now go out and get a ski so you can come along.
Did you use any sealant on the screws?
I used blue loctight.
Just before they closed the boat ramps...whew!
I’m thinking about picking up a Fx also, what’s next on the list?
If you're asking what's next on my list as far as mods, I'm going to install a new impellar and Stage one plus tune. After that I'm finished with mods. I want to keep the ski reliable.
South Florida 4 Life an intercooler would be a good addition
@@southflorida4life930 were u able to complete the mods?
Nice ski guys, I’ve had a fx with free flow and the Drone from it at 3k was unbearable, how did you find it?
I had to get my wife ear plugs for the no wake zones... lol once you get over 20mph or under 10 it sounds great... between that its pretty loud
@@southflorida4life930is it that loud? So cruise no wake mode you wouldn’t be able to hear speakers?
What go pro do u guys have??
It was a Hero3+. I lost it in the intracoastal since then.🤨
Nice job awesome back yard engineering!!!!
Very envious my ski still buried in garage have at least 2 months before we can ride up here near Boston 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻great videos
