Re @ 1:37, In 1981 when we visited Rabbitkettle Hotsprings with a park warden [mandatory then], we were not even allowed to go on the tufa mounds at all, just see it from the bottom. I climbed a nearby tree to get a sort of look at the top. Next morning, alone at 6:00 am, hiked up to the top [with care] just to see what it was all about - was probably never going back. Very special place.

Stunningly beautiful images, though I didn't hear the words "old growth forests," and wonder why they were largely ignored: a brief visual image, that's all. They are also a foundational part of the system that fosters all that variety of life, including the intertidal and estuarial zones.

Found this video while looking for short videos to share with my students in a homeschool co-op marine biology class that I teach. This week's lesson is all about our very own Salish Sea. I love the similarities between the Salish Sea and a windblown tree. Thank you for putting this video together. We sure do live in a beautiful part of the country and I love co-existing with such amazing creatures around us.

i want to be a salmon

the sole reason i went to canada as student and got my PR was to explore its vast flora and fauna. But was soon got stuck in Vancouver city life . Ppl around me didn't want to miss a days work to explore mother nature . I still cherish my solo trip from calgary to Toronto, Williams lake . Soon ppl declared to my family back home in india that i have gone mad . so went back to live in rural india and soon will be back to diacover these areas plus Andes, Rockies, Himalayas . life ia too short to discover all of our earth . May be next life is booked as well .

This was very enjoyable to watch. You captured the feel of the place and the time so well. I was 16 in 1974, living in coastal B.C., and I spent many happy hours hiking in the mountains around and near Vancouver. Thanks for this great explore and for sharing it with us. So no little winged creatures came out at night as one guy has claimed? Said he and 3 others went there and spent the night on the water since the creatures didn’t go on water. He said they were fast white things with wings that would scurry quickly across the ground from sunset to sunrise. Is it true?

A friend and I canoed the Nahanni from Glacier lake to the falls in 85.We had no white water experience,I was 18yrs old, and capsized on a bend over a rock before Rabbit kettle.I thought twice about continuing on after the falls and without a spray skirt.That river spooked the hell out of me.
