Just saw it yesterday. What a masterpiece. What an experience it was!

Agreed. This is a better movie than anything Disney or DreamWorks has ever made. The story developed an interesting nuance between finding your identity internal (individualism, or expressive individualism) and working within the limits and design of your nature (for example, Roz accepting her task and finding a way to use her design to adapt, or Brightbill leaning into his handicaps and working through it rather than giving up and trying to be a robot or be exactly like the other geese). The writers brought the same thoughtfulness to the other themes as well. As an exploration of ideas, this is a true masterpiece.

Wild Robot is my favorite film of 2024 too.

I agreed with your thumbnail, but I had an overall more positive opinion of this. Those last 30 minutes were a series of scenes that were really breathtaking and use the lego aesthetic to the fullest, which I think the first 2/3 of the film doesn't do as well. And also that's where all the impact was, so I don't really see how you could call this rushed. Going over Daft Punk, Happy, and Alright for the conclusion of the conflict (him being inspirationless for a moment, influenced by execs) worked really well. And yeah, not made for young kids. There's swearing, very real issues of race and poverty, and is slow-paced overall.

The cannon roll in your clip set a record at 8 1/2 revolutions. I came for the stunts and left happy.

I've never cried to a movie and I went to watch it with my mom...it had me close though and she was balling her eyes out cuz you know she's a mom

This is not a terrible movie, but it’s not fantastic by any means. I got lost on the skewed facts and some of the boring impressions. Lorne wasn’t portrayed correctly, neither was Gilda or Laraine. I feel it could’ve been done well as a streaming mini series better than a movie.

Great video!! I was also confused that it wasn't even close to 90 minutes, felt like that would've made it more anxiety-inducing!

The bird scene was the highlight for me

I remember when I watched Wolf walkers. It was beautiful. Simply beautiful. I immediately when to find all other cartoon saloon works and they were all good. Haven't watched "My father's dragon" yet though. Anyone looking for another fun animated movie to watch should check out "April and the extraordinary world"

Was trying so hard not to cry man. Mission not accomplished. Seriously tho, this movie was both funny, not in the crude sense of humour dreamworks movies usually have, but in a dark yet also wholesome type of humour. Don’t even get me started by how much I loved the animation. The animation is like a kiss from a painters hand, every single shot. Pause the movie once, and it’ll look like a dedicated artwork. I also especially LOVE the character arcs of these characters. The robot Roz was definitely my favourite of them all. Literally a masterpiece.

I grew up with Chris Sanders and have been blessed to follow his career up close. This is Chris’s best movie by far, and that’s saying a lot when you look at his portfolio of LILO & Stitch, How To Train Your Dragon, The Croods, The Call of the Wild. Go see it in the theaters to truly experience the beauty of this animated masterpiece!

I agree! I just watched it today and wasn't expecting much but at the end, I felt sooo satisfied and this movie is amazing. It's unique, creative, has fresh perspective and will make you cry. Worth watching in the theaters!

Over the Hedge walked so The Wild Robot could RUN!

This is INSANE. No one has said they liked this movie and I've watched like 10 reviews now. It's actually going to flop.

The first Joker was crap and consequently, I didn't intend to see a sequel under any circumstances. The sequel looks even worse(!).

I'm going to see it this weekend. There are several scenes in the trailer that look just like Alaska. The emotional appeal from the breathtaking views and various wildlife are how I feel about my beautiful state ❤

Fun fact: The Lord Protector in this film is based of the controversial British ruler Oliver Cromwell, who after killing Charles I proclaimed himself Lord Protector of England until his death in 1658. He is hated in Ireland due to the events of the British colonization and occupation of Ireland, and Cromwell's policies and deforestation would lead to the eventual extinction of wolves in Ireland.

The question is which wins best Animated Feature; this or Inside Out 2?

I saw song of the sea on a street screening once and it made me fall in love with animation all over again. It told me a story like the ones I read during my childhood. They used the medium in a way I hadn't seen in years from disney, dreamworks and the rest. It was novel yet extremely familiar and nostalgic. Since then, I've been following the studio and Wolfwalkers took that feeling I felt before and multiplied it. It was not only the storybook aesthetic, which is gorgeous, but also by the story itself. The music also plays a big role there. I hope they keep on the path they are on and that more people recognize their superb movie making skills

the wild robot has been out for about 3 weeks in my country and i have seen it 7 times so far. i absolutely love the movie. it has been so long since i have watch an animated movie that good. I'm thinking about seeing it for an 8th time .

Well, I can say one thing for certain about Wolfwalkers. It's DEFFINATELY on my list of things I'll be raising my future children on. (Along with Song of the Sea, Secret of the Kells, and Treasure Planet)

Cartoon Saloon is easily one of my favorite animation studios and truly ranks among the most legendary animation studios, in my opinion. My favorite films are Wolfwalkers and The Secret of Kells. Recently, they got hired by Disney to produce an episode for Star Wars Vision. 🍀🌊🥖🐺🐲

Warning: The Wild Robot is likely to make you AND your kids cry. (It's really good.)

I've Watched this Movie on the 1st day with my Parents, and Lemme tell you: THIS WAS THE GREATEST ANIMATED MOVIE I HAVE EVER SEEN!!!! a 10.5/10 movie, MY PARENTS LOVED IT SO MUCH THEY CRIED!!! something that I have never seen before in a long time especially at the Theater, The Wild Robot is the reason we go to the Movies, and proves Hollywood is still making Masterpieces, there just not as popular as they used to be, If you want to see a Masterpiece at the theater, Just watch the 1st trailer for that movie and that's it and wait for the Movie itself, That's what I did for this film, and after seeing this movie, It'll leave you a changed person...

I love the backgrounds and artstyle in this movie, the story is a bit more eh for me. It wasn't as good as the Song of the Sea imo, but it was still really good.

Not sure what movie Omni Viewer was talking about when he talked about this, but it was definitely NOT Wolfwalkers.

A friend introduced me to this movie when I had visited with him - just a couple weeks ago in fact. This movie evoked such internal emotions and strife my friend thought I really didn't like it. That was not of course the reason, the feelings brought up, an expectation of few tropes, really left me wondering what would happen in the movie. Even the ending felt more like a pyrrhic victory. In the end the life many of goes through is not much different and we can only hope to have such an ending ourselves.

I just left the theaters seeing this movie and I cried twice... I wasn't going to watch this movie after seeing the 2nd trailer because the animals talked but I am so glad I went and saw it anyway. Its a truly touching movie that i think kids and adults will enjoy. I love the iron giant and grew up watching that movie as a child even though it kind of scared me lol and I will have to say the Wild Robot is 2nd place to the iron giant for me. I really hope that this wins an award over inside out 2 it deserves it. Chris Sanders knows how to make a great animated film.
