Invasion: 1995 (Found Footage Teaser Trailer)
Set in an alternate 1990's, Invasion 95 is a found footage styled film project that documents the onslaught of an unstoppable alien force. Inspired by the classic retro sci-fi look of 50's sci-fi, and combined with the VHS analog style of the 90's and early 2000's.
This is a teaser trailer for a project I've been working on in my spare time, which could potentially turn into either a short film or a pilot for a web series, depending on how things go. Look forward to it, whenever it's ready.

Chrono Trigger Time Gate Recreation - Blender

An attempt to recreate the time travel vortex from the game Chrono Trigger. 3D assets such as the blue/purple wavy lines and the faint blue tunnel at the center of the screen were made in Blender. A faux-slit scan tunnel effect reminiscent of the classic Doctor Who intros of the 70's. Textures made using GIMP. Tunnel animation created with Blender and rendered in the Eevee engine. @jeremyjasiak Thank you. I was inspired a lot by the aesthetic of the 1950's "War Of The Worlds" film for this project, and I think combining that with a 90's VHS analog feel really adds a unique flavor to it all.

Thanks for commenting, I appreciate it. I'm busy with college at the moment, but eventually I want to make a tutorial on creating fake 3d slit scan effects like this one. I've been experimenting in Blender recently, and I've managed to recreate an accurate "real" slit scan effect in the program. This is something I'll show how to do as well, whenever I have the time to make a tutorial. For this particular video, I mapped a texture I made onto a long diamond tube shape, making it emissive, and animated the camera down the length of the tube. After rendering, I just color correct the footage, add a vignette, and composite the light/dark patch at the end of the tunnel. Pretty simple. This fake 3D method is a lot less time-consuming than the more accurate method I mentioned. Let me know if this helps in any way.

It might be worth checking out if you enjoy the classic Doctor Who episodes from the 60's. You can find the series on TH-cam or the Internet Archive.

Thanks for the feedback, I always appreciate it! This was my first real attempt at making something like this. If you know of any tips or tutorials to improve the camera shake and animation, let me know and I'll use them for the next entry.
