Traffy catching a lot of strays I see. Guess I did too last time tbf. I'll balance that out with some praise this time (don't worry everyone gets something here lol) csm: Traffy just calling it off the bat. Even I didn't see the snow devil like that when I read this chapter. Mostly fixated on how the chapter itself ended. Also I thought we knew that Denji doesn't know Asa & Yoru are two different beings. If you look at the previous interactions, there was never any acknowledgement of that. Greek also picking up on a major point on the devil being physically thrown up. I saw a few other mention that but honestly didn't put that one together myself. centuria: I have no idea how Titi will grow as we have too little backstory on the character. But her being a magic user would be nice. we need someone to get into the power system if we got to fight some mages. Arkos's sister is Lacrima btw. I'm fully on board for baby antics from Diana. As for future party members, yeah I see the classic pick up people as we travel. While I agree with Nox that normally internal faction conflicts are interesting as it allows for more narrative potential, I really am annoyed with the prophetess. She is so paranoid and every choice is predictably going to bring more trouble to her king. It's very one note and I feel she will continue to be her own worst enemy. I do like Yato's theory that the king is using the new members of her side as spies. But I don't quite agree since it doesn't seem to be his style. Dandadan: Love seeing some Kinta W's. Obviously needed an L right after cause the universe hates him. Jiji also needed some wins as he's been mainly comedy for a while now (and also remains an uneeded romance blockade). Lots of cool theories on Nurse Queen. We definitely had a lot of expectations for said character with how the chapter ended. As for Vamolla, I just assumed she has been improving with her language over time. But maybe it is the suit or even empty space. Honestly not sure Gachiakuta: While I'm on board for Zodyl & Corvus being connected, I do think we are still making assumptions. Like I've seen Corvus' friend being Rekto (Rudo's father figure) being proposed or even Kuro as he knew how to get in touch with him (Kuro has a love for the Cleaners as he admits). Enjin does seem the most leader like but that's also from our perspective. From the Cleaner's POV that might not be the situation. Besides Semu, I could honestly see people putting Tamsy in charge if needed. As I said in previous comments, guy is effective even if he is an antagonist. If Corvus is keeping this many secrets from others, he at most may be the only one suspicious of Tamsy. Is this the first time the Guardian/watchman theory has come up in the podcast? Cause it feels like a well established theory in the fandom. (Nox really throwing strays at Tabata out of nowhere and that one Gachi fan too lol). Galaxias: There's a lot to say about the mystery of Neraid but more on that for next chapter. Schmidt seems strong enough to distort perception as much as he needs. We may have not seen his true form as far as we know. So funny Traffy expected me to call him out. Because I think your point got wrote off too quickly by everyone. If these dragonfolk are so strong that Reno stood no chance, why not beat him fair and square? Granted demoralization is a huge factor why. Would the townfolk respect rule of law and obey their new ruler if he won a fair fight? Maybe they'd still respect Reno and not fall in line. This method does guarantee compliance. Yet Chalk seems prideful of his ability as one of the strong. The fact that he was willing to go along with this plan suggests more going on. Especially as a one sided beatdown is still demoralizing itself. Greek already brought up my theory from his video (thanks for that). But to add to it now that I've had more time, we've only seen Chalk do all this in the mining. Maybe he couldn't do anything like this in town Ranger Reject: Had to pause the video and go skim this chapter. Hate how officials are so behind on this. Hard to stay on top of it. The Magatia power being used again is cool and threw me for a loop. A good setup for this arc before the "final episode" arc. A reformation makes the most sense. I feel D will learn about himself but also realize he can't trust Neo Rangers either if they are doing things like this. Once this is finished I feel D will have a solid idea of what he wants to do. Ichi the Witch: Shoutout from Nox too! Everyone gave me props this episode. Good thing I get comments in before recording lol. Sincerely, thank you guys. Don't have much to add here as it's mainly a sweet wrap up chapter and a little backstory. Most interesting thing is some hints of world building with Ichi's mentor coming from a different nation. Someone who might show up later as an antagonist as you guys brought up. Astro: I've seen an explanation that Astro Royale is making weird calls like this because the sales aren't good enough. Might be wrapping up this arc to get to bigger things. But in any case I'm exciting for Kinpa to get a big moment like this. As long as her fight is satisfying this arc can be salvaged imo. The lack of growth from these fights I think is my main issue. This bad guy does seem too big to be taken out here. Let's keep in mind he has Tora in custody atm. We could have a whole rescue arc of sorts Kagurabachi: There were hints of a traitor. Like how did the Hishaku find Chihiro's home? Plus Chihiro had his doubts about the Kamunabi before joining them. This distance suggests the potential for a traitor. I like Greek's idea that the original bearers affect the powers. Does make me question why Uraha's sword summons random women. Who are they meant to represent? Like Chihiro's Enten has goldfish and we know why. Sword Master is the most intriguing from this perspective. I want to bring up Hakuri and the guilt he must be feeling right now. If Hakuri didn't give Samura his sword this would be playing out different. Gonna be apart of his character arc for sure (along with overcoming brain damage). Frankly I could see the Kumanbi suspecting Hakuri for this given his family had connections to the Hishaku. Side note, "Winners write history" is one of my favorite quotes cause its very true.

Right when I thought kagurabachi was getting stale hokazono made an amazing plot twist he really knows how to write arcs

I dont know if you guys are reading it but it would be really good to have an episode talking about hunter x hunter maybe on a break week of the magazines or something like that

Commenting on Kagurabachi, don’t know everyone’s names but the one guy was correct that Samura met Chihiro before the death of his father. Additionally there was some confusion about the mention of a traitor, and the main conflict of the story Rokuhiro’s death occurs due to the presence of a traitor who gave up their location/teleported the hishaku in. So there has been this traitor looming in the background of the story this entire time and there’s heavy implication this chapter since Samura knew where they lived when almost no one did at the time of the attack!

Vamolq has been able to speak normally since chapter 121 of Dandadan. Also glad to see the nurse has come back since being introduced 148 chapters ago at the end of the Serpo arc

Chainsaw Man 182 was so good. I love when characters that have gone through painful experiences take a stand. Totally called the sushi bit in Ichi the Witch 10. It's so wacky and cool. Thanks for the show.

Astro Royale is so fun, just pure classic shounen. However Kagurabachi had the best chapter this week no doubt.

Man, I need to yap about Kagurabachi a bit. In most plot twist traitor reveals, most of these traitor characters contradict to who they were before the reveal. Like that guy in Frozen who made a 180 in attitude. Or that sparkly guy in MHA being revealed as a traitor after having 2 dialogues with MC. Like why do I care, you just made your character less than who it was. But Samura's character doesn't contradict at all! I'd say it adds even more depth to his character. 1.Why did he help in the assassination of Rokuhira? ->He feels guilty about what happened in the war. He doesn't wanna wear the title of Hero for what he did in the war. He himself used and witnessed the extent what the Kunishige Rokuhira Swords are capable of. And so the best solution is to end the production of the enchanted blades i.e, killing Kunishige Rokuhira once and for all. 2. What other reason he has that led him leverage to betrayal? -> As a Buddhist, he thinks no life is better than the other. He hates when someone sacrifices themselves for him. From his perspective, he has killed many people and will go to hell. He life, most of which is spent on killing people, is worthless compared to other lives, more pure and sinless. When Uruha speaks about the weight of the Sword Bearer Lives are more consequential than the other people. He dismisses it even he knows it's true. He hates the very notion of the idea that his life is worth more.From what he seen in the war, he judges that the shinuchi wielder shouldn't be allowed to exist for he is too dangerous even under the imprisonment under the Kamunabi. He is willing to go to this length to kill Shinuchi Wielder. What kind of things did he witness in war to have led to this decision? We'll learn in the upcoming chapters ofc. 3. Why did Tree Hishaku said if he screwed up if they're from the same team? -> That's simple.They're not a team. It was just a mutual benefit relationship. (a) Samura wanna end sword production and Hishaku wanna kill Kunishige. (b) Samura wanna kill Shinuchi wielder and Hishaku wanna wield Shinuchi. That's it. The enemy of my enemy is my ally for awhile. Nothing will change for Hishaku if Samura dies. Nothing will change for Samura if he kills Hishaku. Both of them are making use of each other to reach their own respective end goals. 4. Does the traitor reveal made him have more depths and layers? ->Short answer: Yes. It added more weight to his dialogues before the reveal. Also the Buddha statue staring was a hint of Samura betrayal all along! Samura saying “I'm going to hell too” after killing goons in front of Buddha. In the previous context, this sentence meant he is feeling guilty for killing people. But with this reveal, he might also feel some remorse in choosing this path. For destroying Rokuhira family by giving their location. (This is a bit of a theory time, I always wondered why Chihiro wasn't killed and thought Yura wanted someone to oppose the Hishaku. But now with Samura revealed as a traitor, It's very likely that Samura pact with Yura Hishaku must've included to not harm Chihiro. Even if he snitched Kunishige, Samura is not the kind of person to let a kid be killed because of their parents' sin. Samura being the reason why Kunishige being killed and Chihiro still being alive would add so much more to Samura character and STILL would fit in perfectly) Whenever Samura drew his sword to kill people, the Buddha statue is always watching him and judging him. When we were first shown Samura killing, Buddha statue judges him. And when the Buddha last Judged him was when he drew Tobimune. It's as if Buddha knew what was going to happen. Killing a person who is your friend who knows you so well that risks his life to fight alongside by you, your disciple who learnt everything you taught and greatly respect you, your comrade in war who who witnessed the same things as you did. Buddha judges all those sins without looking away. That was a bit of a long yapping session. All and all Kagurabachi is PEAK! Edit: Fixed some typo. And added tree Hishaku session that I forgot to go over.

commenting as I listen lol, i dont mean to spam. It would be crazy if Hakuri cant access storehouse anymore from overuse, but he is able to trade that ability in so he can use Tobimune while also still being able to use Isou. Isou would help to cover the sword skill issue in the beginning

That KGB chapter was next level. The switch up for Samura was still in line with his character imo. Just great work. Best chapter in this current Arc.

Yoru cant use her bang but what if Asa can actually use the war devils power and she ends up turning Denji into a chainsaw just like the art of Asa holding a chainsaw. . .. Denji will go back to cutting trees like in the beginning

I think Yoru and Asa's feelings and emotions are starting to merge. and maybe Asa was referring to revenge, that is what moved her forward

Don't really have thoughts on the kingsguard. Most of them didn't talk. I do think Greek is onto something that the King's experience matured him which his kids didn't have. Lacrima falling for Juliann has me mixed. But I am curious what Titi will do. dandadan: not a chapter I have much for but as you all said good battle IQ from Momo. Don't really buy the Okarun's an alien theory but his parent not being around is weird. Galaxias: Thanks for the shoutout Greek. The dynamic between Neraid and Chalk is what makes this fight cool. As much as battle maniac characters are, I do prefer motivations have a bit more going on. But I do think it does fit the society that the dragonkin have built up. Ranger reject: I'm glad Traffy brought up the idea of the humans affecting the personality of the executives. Cause to me it feels like that should be a factor. Especially if all those memories are intact. Anyway good to know I'm not the only one thrown off with these executives human hopping effectively. Ranger reject is a tough one to review cause it's dense. Can never make theories for this thing. Never put together that face paint thing as Yato did for example. Great discussion on the complexity of D's character. ichi: not sure I fully with Nox on the localization commentary. Just cause I feel when done well it can deliver intent better than a literally translating. Especially when humor or double meaning is involved. I definitely disagree with Traffy though on this being the weakest chapter. I've said this is previous comments but Ichi has been doing mostly just setup till now. This chapter shows a lot of creative problem solving these tests will require. Also demonstrates Ichi's hunting knowledge can be used greatly outside of combat. But I do hope Mugi gets a W sooner than later. (That Mashle type of character would be interesting) Astro: We have been having a back and forth with will this be a satisfying arc or not. At this point we need a plot twist. Cause this chapter was weak. Not just for the Suo. Terasu got nothing from this fight. At least the last one had some personal aspects. Also I think the irony of overdosing was done on purpose. Yato remembered me too! What would you guys do without my comments lol kagurabachi: I'm also on team Samura is dead. Still think there's a traitor too. But right now I don't know who would be a good traitor. Not enough build up for anyone that makes sense. But Undead Unluck did it without it. I agree with Greek that Blue Exorcist did it very well. Nue Exorcist did it similar to what Nox said where one of the bad guys was just incognito inside the organization.

Ichi the witch - I believe that all the magik's that ichi makes a contract with and or defeats will come back into the story as kinda digimon-esk characters so we will see them all interact with him and fight beside him within pivotal moments and what not so drawing out the personality of the magiks before they are caught will make them feel like more of the team and or casts then just random nothing spirits that's why I think they are taking their time a bit catching the hisame

Kagurbachi - Chihiro's biggest L in the series has probably been the destruction and complete depletion of cloud gouger, one of his fathers precious swords. But chihiro wasn't intended to be a swordsman he became one after his father's death he was originally going to be a swords Smith like his dad. I believe either in a Arc and or flashback in a pivotal moment likely later on within the series we are going to see that chihiro has reforged cloud gouger and brings it back out in a fight or what im hoping in a cold moment we see his boy hakuri pull it out after chihiro reforges it because of its destruction when it's reforged the contract is broken and Hakari takes ownership of the new contract

Good work as always lads, but here's the receipts you were asking for: 1. The Ruuna and Kiisu question - Ruuna and Kiisu are both confirmed to have never died by Hisui in Dreamy School Life - Rabbit and Monkey are not among the dead "zodiacs" that she lists. - Kiisu (Chakobul) confirms that they fled the flying fortress 13-14 years ago in Chapter 151 with D - Ruuna (as mentioned) says that she was at the Zoo to experiment with Yakushi's monster formula (the one that made people Kaiju's, not the executive one), which by extension means that her and Kiisu were most likely testing the same formula at the DSL school when they bumped into Hibiki (who was searching for any trace of Ouroboros) but because he was seemingly human, they didn't reveal their true forms and pretended to be the dumb lovey dovey fools we know them as, because they know that if their vessels get hurt they're in no real danger (as we saw with them losing their legs in 3WB). 2. The Kuroko which stomped into the business exec meeting was indeed Shouko, the double battalion Kuroko, you can see her weirdly chopped fringe 3. Loved the discussion around D's goal and the meta-issue around the community complaining about D's unfocused idea - but as is often the case, the community overlooks some major plot points around D. D's biggest struggle started off as going up against the Rangers, but by the end of his fight with Shougo Aoshima, we found D beginning to question his very existence as an Invader, as a Footsoldier. Since then, this point has been causing strain on D, with the first instance being when Chidori confronted D on it outright, and D losing his entire meaning for living when he was undermined by the IRA during the "fall" of the Dragon Keepers in 3WB. Then, during the timeskip, it seems D spent a lot of time discussing the idea of what it meant to be a footsoldier with Yakushi, only to be immediately sledged during Chopman and Footsoldier on the Run with the one-two punch of his favourite Executive still being alive, and the reality that all invaders are just made by the Rangers. So you essentially have a teenager not only searching for his goal (which at the moment is "free the Footsoldiers, end the Rangers") but also for his very meaning of existence, which we saw him bounce off both Kiisu ("Who is it that decided we Invaders need to fight all the time?" "You weren't born to lose at all. Show me the true essence of the Invaders that I gave up on" 151) and Ruuna ("We can be selfish, or want to help others. Invaders are free to live how they want". 159). Most importantly, every time we've seen D think about the world he wants, it's never him fighting. He's always doing very mundane normal things, living life freely, which I think is the most important point that Negi's been making, and am very excited to see him stick the landing on. But that's enough yapping from me.

I just realized something. The king thinks Arkos died from his own arrogance and underestimating Julian, but later in the fight he does take him seriously and at no point after his first death he held back. So the king doesn’t realize Arkos got beaten by someone that could actually be a bigger threat. I like the king though. Nice guy.

HxH mention during Kagurabachi section - immediate PEAK. There is also a very popular theory that Azami is the traitor. It does not have a lot of evidense, but sometimes doubt obsucres the light just how i KNEW my boi Hisoka was not a Hisoka, it was Chrollo's plan all along) I'm still hesitant to call pygmies aliens, but they do operate in empty space. Also also, my boi Jiji is not all muscle, no spoilers for the yesterday's chapter, but he aint the dullest tool in the kitchen, not at all. Another fun Pod, keep cooking gAang!

Chapter 9 of Ichi was another good time. Hisame is a funny, haughty character and seeing her dump on them all was fun because her sense of style is so abstract. Poor Kumugi. You guys had the same idea as I did; she is totally getting cut into aesthetic sushi. I wonder who'll get her though. Thanks for the show!

Yeah, the Astro Royale chapter was so good and improved from last week's flashback chapter. This is the best chapter I've read from this past week.

Great Podcast. You guys have a very funny banter and overall dynamic. Too bad i keep missing the live... You probably got this question asked a lot of times, so i apologize, but are you guys gonna include HxH into the Pod? If not, do you follow it/like it?

Already made a Kamen Rider comment, but I've got one more in relation to Astro Royale. We know Astros come from items that hold some kind of sentimental value. Himura's henchmen use artificial Astros. The fact that the former wrestler wasn't able to get value from his mask - the pride of a wrestler - is incredibly interesting to me.

Lol. Props to Traffy bringing up Kamen Rider Geats this episode. It's definitely relevant given the game show/entertainment side of fighting monsters. Geats is relevant in other ways too, but it gets too spoiler-y to share more. There's also relevance to OG Kamen Rider considering he was originally modified by Shocker to be evil just to rebel and fight their other people turned monsters.

Chainsaw Man 181 is very interesting to me because the threat here is purely psychological. The theme to me is that everyone in that space is there because they refused to face themselves and their circumstances head on. Repression has been a big thing in both parts of the story, so that tracks. Aging did say that they wanted Ass and Denji to grow up, not to kill them. In there, their only option is to talk and face themselves. Ichi the Witch 8 tickled me. I enjoyed the attitude and bombastic nature of the latest foe. That look on the gang's faces when they saw that castle was priceless! It's good that we're switching things up; Ichi and the crew can't just power through everything and we get to see them get challenged and possibly lose. Finally, is the K Manga app any good? There was controversy about censorship that concerns me but I really want to try Galaxias. Great show. Thanks for the fun.
