On this channel I will be sharing with you my journey as a Heavy goods vehicle driver. Coming from a business background with a first class MBA degree,I did not see myself driving heavy goods lorries as a full time job. However, when I actually realised it was my destiny, I never looked back. I love and have soo much passion for trucks . I hope to start my own trucking company in the near future, God willing. Above all, I hope this channel will help someone learn something positive.

I came across this video which I did some months ago when I was still driving rigid lorries. It’s just a summary of what my day looked like back then. I was driving a 26t rigid lorry doing multi drop deliveries to fast food restaurants. On this day I had 5 drops and the shift was roughly 13 hrs from start to finish

Good day Taf , whats your advice on someone like me as a zim guy looking to come to Uk for hgv driving jobs with a SA license with 6 months experience so far , do they take people like us if yes , what are their requirements as it is a foreign license and if you have any ideas of companies currently hiring

@@TruckerTaf thank you I did watch it , but I heard that in Ireland you can actually drive with a SA license rather than a zim license I don’t know how true it is and to get a work visa how difficult is it coz I see you need to be skilled to meet the requirements, can you actually get one to work as a HGV driver not just in Uk but Scotland as well and other country’s any info that you know about will be helpful thanks 🙏

Concentrate on driving instead of doing videos
20 years back ,no truck satnavs no google maps no low bridge map bet your rear end i was terrified best advice start on nights if you can much less stressful and more leeway if you do come a cropper
You can do it mate keep going just be extra careful with your truck on the small roads

Why do you agree to Exp. Data? That means it broadcasts your stuff witelessly via a RIO unit to any DVSA peeps that you pass!
Why not just leave your tacho card in till shift is finished, no manual entry needed. Pull it just before yoy leave site!

Hello I am looking at wanting to learn to drive a HGV/LGV but my driving licence which I have held for 10 + years is a automatic one does this stop me from learning in a manual lorry or ruins my chances of learning and trying aquire a lorry license in manual etc.. thanks
George contact Driving Vehicle Standards Agency - (DVSA), They should better advise you but from my point I shouldn't think it will today because modern trucks are Automatic now. Good-luck. Steve from Manchester.

I passed class 1 over 2 years ago, I have 2 years experience class 2, theres a gap of 3 years, im back doing class 2 but i dont hold alot of hope for class 1 at all, 250 applications nationwide for class over the last year and nothing.
Life must be really difficult in the uk, frustration after spending almost 2k to learn , America far better
Wow, I know that place! Such a small world! Premier Paper in Dartford. Done some agency work for them before. Nice place, nice job, nice stuff. Tip: If you ever go there again, spin round, and reverse in from the other side. That saves you reversing in blind side! As a new driver, always try and avoid blind side reversing on your left side, if you can. It will make a it a lot easier for you! Also, if you are ever unsure, ask another driver for help. Most drivers are friendly:) Safe trucking. Take care
