Africana Dance Ensemble is a cultural group based at C.Y.C.C., a community youth and cultural center in the Mamboi/Nima area near 37 military hospital in central Accra. Officially founded in 1991 by Mawutor Akpobi, Africana has been one of the foremost cultural groups celebrating, preserving and continuing the diverse cultural traditions of music and dance in Ghana and greater West Africa. Lead by Agbekor Desouza, Africana maintains a vast repertoire of creative and traditional dances from Ghana and Africa.
