10//23/24 Relaxed 4.25m @ Maryhill eastern Gorge NOS Mistral Screamer time capsule Windsurfing
Never tire of re- living the windsurfing boom of the 80s and 90s with vintage gear. Conditions overperformed. Expected less. H2O 59 degrees air 55 perfect for my Mystic 4/3. Sadly, my Go pro did not record a bunch of footage but probably user error. I keep switching from audible commands to manual like a typical jamoke. I think the thing is recording and it is NOT. Better luck next time. Wish I had used this particular Naish 4.25 earlier than this year and neglected the low end of my Naish quiver far too long. Now I’m employing it almost every time I sail now when conditions permit until conditions get extreme cold temp wise. Then heartier material sails become emplo The new old stock Screamer usage and orange in the sail culturally appropriate as we near Halloween. Do like the volume that I greatly need as I reach 255 now. Losing weight is a challenge in my 60s. If I could just refrain from eating. My sailing buddy out sailed me and left me in the dust. I initially I took out my Starboard Kombat that I sunk and he is in better cardio shape I can tell you that. Glad he suggested Maryhill. Thanks. A pleasant reunion after 30 yrs. All good. Good times. Grateful for every reach, even when missing a jibe. Thank you for watching and get out there asap esp around here, the air and water temps are dropping rather fast. But we adapt. Slowly.

      @@doofercallyes it adds to the adrenaline rush knowing just how hard it is to get my 240 lbs up on a plane. The gentleman I purchased it from years ago said I was way too heavy to use it at all but I’m glad I didn’t listen to him. I have lost 10 lbs in the last 2 months. My goal is to get down to 220 by next summer.

      Thanks Primoz I love doing the ducks :) I am going to try a variety of jibes once he water warms up…yeah it got quite bumpy at times(worst chop fest I have experienced on the river) but thankfully my knee did not get irritated but my teeth did fall out. I would have normally taken out my Bonzer but just had to try out the Cascade for first time. I was playing a game of not re injuring my rib cage. 😂

    Its fun, we were small teens around 17 windsurfing around 30 knots on old crappy but small boards and just 3 square meter sails that were bending like mad we were flying accross the water. Best session ever never repeated lol. I struggled with 6.4 years later under similar or worse conditions but I think this time the board was way too big and instantly flipping.

    Yes , I like a 6.O as well it’s the only sail I ever owned that I thought cams would be beneficial. I looked up the Nash Edge did it really find much was it a cam sail ?

      My thots exactly but I slammed through my Naish 6.0 edge and blew out almost all panels during a bad crash at Rowena so now am now searching for another to replace it. It was my favorite lite wind sail :( …

    • @riversailer47
      @riversailer47 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm sure that Naish was a great sail , I have only heard great things about their gear. 5.7 thru 6.0 are good sails to own if your a full sized person meaning 185lbs or better ! Might want to bring that Naish in for a diagnosis from a sail Surgeon , might be worth repairing

    • @Humpty-Dumpty-1962
      @Humpty-Dumpty-1962 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@riversailer47 it was well past a reparation candidate. “Poof” like it was hit by a car. My harness hook was the initial culprit and shredded it as I rocketed up the sail. I did a swan dive into it. It was bad.

    • @riversailer47
      @riversailer47 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sounds like you really did a number on that 6.0, Robby would for sure be bummed out 😅 I would begin the hunt for another Naish 6.0 it's not likely you would find to many 6.0 sails in HR and heck at our age who wants to drop a grand on a new sail ypur prolly not going to use all that much. Florida might be a good place to hunt 6.0 down but I would first look high and low for a Naish replacement. Call Maui maybe Robbie has a old 1 in the back shed 😂
