My old petrol boat engine. A 1.6 litre marc 2 escort engine converted to marine . Engine was getting hot so i stopped and shut off. But it ran on So i disconnected the battery. But still ran Then disconnected fuel lines Still ran on Starting to panic now Thinking it will blow up. So abandoned the boat waited at a distance. It ran on a good five minutes with no fuel or ignition. Surely only reason is a warped head allowinh oil in . And engine sufficiently hot enough to ignite the oil under pressure. Was a first for me Usually if you tge ignition. It stops immediately And then fuel stopped. Surely would stop. But i learned something new . Glad i didnt have a rumaway diesel though . I wouldn't have a boat left. Being fibreglass and a wildly shaking wngine. Ive seen lorrys demolish them selves with a run away engine . That would be scary stuff in a littlr 20ft boat

Your mistake was putting a clear coat on top of an enamel paint. Enamel are a single stage paint, they come straight out of the can glossy, and if you need more shine then they are ready to cut and buff. The point of a clearcoat is to make something that started out dull into something glossy. Those products aren't designed to work together.

Crx question. To drop the oil pan, apparently the cv axle is in the way of removing the flywheel dust shield. Is everything you did required just to pop the cv axle from the tranny ?

A tiny bit of grease around the inner rim of the rubber goes a long way in reducing the friction when connecting the pipes to the couplings.

What if I’m not getting blue smoke ? I’m getting a misfire i changed my valve cover gasket , my valve stems a month ago. Now my engine is rattling and i found oil in 3 of my cylinder’s and the one cylinder isn’t responding.

Did you wait till the paint was dry? And did you time the layers?you should not go past 10 minutes between coats I have used it many times and I haven't experienced such a problem.

Mine acts like it’s got bad gas but we’ve done gas treatment and it acts like it’s not getting gas after 3 cranks it’ll come on so I’m thinking maybe the fuel filter.

I had my cat unbolted at the engine side and it was so much louder than I was expecting and I drove it like that for a few days and then I hollowed out the cat and it gained more power than straight piped or with exhaust in original condition.
