Samsung Refrigerator / Fridge Cooling Too Much & Freezing Food
Samsung Refrigerator (Model # RF263BEAESR/AA) is cooling excessively in the fridge and freezing food. Issue resolved by replacing the Defrost Thermostat (Part # DA47-00243K). Other parts discussed in the video, which could also cause similar problems, are the fridge Temperature Sensor / Thermistor (DA32-10104N) & the Pantry Drawer Temperature Sensor (DA32-00006R).
REMEMBER TO UNPLUG THE REFRIGERATOR OR TURN OFF THE CIRCUIT TO THR FRIDGE BEFORE WORKING ON IT TO AVOID HARM.

Thanks so much! Had no idea how to use that control panel. I had the exact problem you had in this video but a slightly different model - french door 4 door instead of your 3 door but the forced defrost worked the same. I'll go with that for now but probably will have to replace one of the thermostats which fixed yours.

Update 4/18/22 after putting in all new thermistors, accessory heater modification and drain kit, my refrigerator was still freezing at 10 deg and water dispenser didn't work because of frozen lines. Ice maker wasn't working either. Problem was the main control board. Got a used exact replacement. Open the back and get the number from the board. Even Samsung gave me the wrong number. Paid 37 bucks from Zombie parts. As soon as I opened the back panel it had the smell of burnt electrical, however the board didn't appear to be burnt. After replacement the refrigerator temperature is 38 degrees, the water and ice maker are working again. Hopefully with the new heater and drain kit, this pain in the arese will go 6 months without needing to defrost and act like my 25 year old Kenmore in the garage. Hope this helps someone else with a freezing Samsung. My Samsung rf261 started freezing after a power outage. I defrosted overnight and set the thermostat to 44 degrees which is the highest and the refrigerator is at 24 degrees according to a thermometer. I'm thinking of getting all the thermistors and the defrost part you replaced and hope it works. If not I'm biting the bullet and buying a different brand. This Samsung started with the fan icing up at 2 years old and has been horrible to own. Can't believe Samsung can get away with such a crap refrigerator. It's not like it's a cheap refrigerator either.

As an appliance repair business owner/technician and a former chef, don't buy ANY consumer level appliances. Do the research and buy commercial appliances. Even used commercial appliances are better than ANY new consumer grade. They'll do a better job at whatever and 10x faster. The vast majority of what I work on is new to 3 years old. You'll definitely pay a bit more, but you'll be passing them down to your children and generally won't ever have the inconvenience of being without it while you wait for some random technician to hopefully know enough to figure out what's actually wrong. A consumer grade appliance wouldn't last a week in a commercial kitchen. Commercial appliances are used 18+ hours a day, usually every day bay underpaid and highly pressured staff who could care less of it breaks. I can remember only one time that I ever had a problem when working in a kitchen. This also applies for your clothes. Buy SpeedQueen washer and dryers.

Thank you so much for taking the time to go through all the issues this refrigerator has---and there are many. It's unconscionable that a company would allow the sale of a product this flawed. I will never buy Samsung again and neither should anyone else until they acknowledge all the issues and compensate customers fairly.

Since I did them one at a time, I’d determined that the other 2 were actually still good, so I left the replacements in anyways and used one of the old sensors to replace the third one I found.
