I bet if you ran a 9mm venturi and a gt style exhaust setup the difference would be much different...may be 20/40/80% throttle inputs may be interesting . Did you optimize the squish and plug for the 16 and 25% fuels?
Don't know about that. Maybe worth a try. PHC and plug was the same
@@kings-racing shimming for nitro content and using the correct plug makes a hugeee difference at least on the ground . hopefully I be receiving mine soon, I'm really looking forward to the data.
Why do alot of people have xt60 plugs sticking out of their receiver boxes?
If there is a loop on the connecter, they use it as a switch for the battery.

Yes. Although i didn't have any problems with it. Everyone who bought the car recieved bulkhead updates, two times.

Hey Nick, you are always welcome in Helmond. Didn't know Nitro Mike was still in the hobby. His last vid was 2 years ago..Did a short a year ago, but it's very quiet on his channel since. Thought he dropped out of the hobby. Anyways, if you send a email to Mach One you can run the track if you want.
I'm no engine expert by any means, but I don't think they factored in rotating mass.
rotating mass is out of the equation. The crank is not attached to the backplate. On a regular backplate are some marks of the conrod. So theoretically there is friction, although it's very minute. The idea is to reduce friction because the plate will rotated when the conrod is hitting the backplate. I don't think this backplate is spinning much tbh. Also the marks on a regular backplate are in a oval shape. Not round. So the reduction of friction theoretically is probably very very minimal. It sure doesn't out way the advantages of a airboost backplate. Appreciate the comment and you watching.
I just bought a 521 for my first nitro engine ever because it’s such a good deal and I felt Reds was a good reputable brand. My engine does the exact same stuff, idle is all over the place. I sent it off to a local rep, nice fella, he told me that when they are new that they are super tight and you have to run a bigger idle gap with a higher idle. Also he said that they are not ready for a race tune until you run at least a gallon through them and to not even attempt a race tune until you have run a gallon through it
I can agree on the the bigger idle gap and higher idle during the break in, as you run a very rich tune. But the engine should run consistent. 1 gallon is a lot. I usually run about 1 to 1,5 liter on the break in. ( About half a gallon)Than it's ready for a good tune. Still slightly rich on the highspeed needle but the engine should run perfect and consistent. If you still are having these issues after half a gallon there is definitely something not good. I suspect a bad batch of reds bearings, but the 521 doesn't come with a ceramic bearing.. You could try to replace the rear bearing if the engine keeps doing that and see if the issue is solved

Are eighth scale carpet tires cheaper than dirt tires because there is no way I would ever be able to afford to race on that track on a regular basis
4 tires that i run in dry conditions ( Schumacher mini pin yellow) are € 32,- , inserts and wheel € 20,-. € 52,- isn't cheap, but these tires last pretty long. Sertainly much longer than clay tires as the compound is pretty hard.

Imo this is probably the best budget engine Reds ever made. It tunes and runs very good.

A budget engine doesn't have a ceramic bearing, dlc coated crankshaft and mostly conservative timing. In a price range of 150 to 250. A high end engine does have those things and comes at 400 to 500. I really like the r5r over the 521.

Wi have mis you at buggy truggy cup at the track in helmond .
Unfortunately due circumstances i haven't been able to race much this season. Did only two. Probably next season i can run some more again. I will be in Helmond with the "winter is coming". Hope to see you there again.

Very good budget engine. There is some interesting stuff coming up. I needed to break in this engine for that. Now i have one stock r5r and one modified. Fingers crossed the testing will go smoothly. Appreciate the comment and thanks for wachting

woow die fx engine gt is sick!!!, zouw ik daar wat aan hebben op een truggie die ik costum verlengt heb, en op straat tyers te race, ik zie juist het omgekeerden, een off road engine op een gt met twee versnellingen, ik wouw mijn os zo was en zo starte?
Daar heb je wel wat aan. Zou eerlijk gezegd niet weten waarom je een offroad motor in een gt zou willen rijden. Zo'n gt motor heeft zeker meer vermogen.

hoi woow je videos zijn beter geworden!!! jij hebt veel ervaaring met nitro, daarom mijn vraag na mijn verhaal, ik heb vanmiddag met 20c mijn nieuwe OS MAX .21 geprobeerd te starten, met een starterbox, helaas is dat na 5 maal niet gelukt, 5 maal de zuiger vast, en met een schroeven draaier weer voorzichtig los gemaakt, nu denk ik dat me starter box niet goed genoeg is opgeladen hij ook niet de OS MAX verder kon draaien, het is natuurlijk moeilijk op afstand wat er is, enkel ik heb ook zo een engine heater en temp gun, en ik kreeg met de engine heater met een gel bat 12v 5ah geladen niet warmer dan 70c, is het better een headgun te gebruiken, 70c is niet zo warm, ik denk als ik die twee dingen, in orde heb, een heatgun, en me starterbox battery geladen zijn het moet lukken, zouw ik meschien iets veel airfilter olie op gedaan hebben, zit daar wijnig marge tussen, of gebeurt dat niet zo makelijk? heb je nog tips om het starten, indraaien te laate lukken graag?, ga zo door met videos goed werk!!!
Hoi, 70C is idd te weinig. Bij een nieuwe motor is de zuiger erg strak. Vandaar dat ie vast loopt en inrijden heel belangrijk is. Bij een eerste start verwarm ik de motor tot 130C. Daar heb je zeker een heatgun voor nodig. Als ie eenmaal loopt de temperatuur tussen 110 en 120C houden. Zeker niet lager dan 100C. Je zult dus tijdens de break in de motor moeten verwarmen aangezien de rijke afstelling veel koelt.. Je zou bv de engine heater op de koelkop kunnen laten zitten tijdens de break in zodat er genoeg warmte in blijft. 1 of 2 tankjes laten idle'n, daarna rustig rondjes rijden met een rijke afstelling. Bij tank 8 kun je de motor al iets indraaien na elk tankje. Na ongeveer 12 tankjes kun je de motor tunen en rijden. Zeker nog niet te arm zetten. Na 1,5 / 2L is de motor goed ingelopen. Succes en veel plezier met je nieuwe motor.

Man, anyone else watching those dyno pulls and just craving tuning the LSN and idle gap? Killing that motor not pulling down to idle and still revving like that. Idle gap is too big and low speed is FAT.
On the contrary. When you tune a engine on the track the HSN is too lean for a 6 second dyno pull.
@@kings-racingbut the LSN and idle were too fat and too high on the track as well, it was high idling and loading up if allowed to idle longer than a few seconds. The dyno pulls only made it more apparent. Surprised you haven't soft-seized a PS running like that.
@@alexanderrichards895the high reving you are referring to after the pull is caused by a too lean HSN on a 6 second pull. The idle gap was at 0,5mm with both backplates. Definitely not to big. I did have to change the tune when switching backplates. On the rtx it needed a richer low and leaner high in order to run properly and drop back to idle. I can agree that setting was fat on the low, ( specially compared to the airboost backplate), but that has nothing to do with the reving you are referring to.

Have you tried the 2146 pipe? Wondering if it is worth a try? I have the 2135 evo2 as well and am pretty happy with it but see some people in Germany putting the 2146 on Ninja B07s and AD3s
I don't have the 2146 so never tried that. I ran it with the 2135 and recently with the hipex 2034. Smoother bottom end but performed really good.

Another great vid bro! I agree with you. The RTX backplate is great marketing. My thoughts is if a pull start which uses a oneway bearing robs an engine of power, the RTX would have a similar problem due to bearings and rotating parts. Only difference is the RTX is not directly connected to the crank as most pullstarts. Anyways great to see you put the theory to the test with data.💯👊😎

Exactly. Track tune and dyno tune are two different things. The track tune was also to lean on the highspeed on the dyno. Specially for a 6 second pull.
@@kings-racing According to my research, in air cooled 2 stroke engines we are limited by cooling when tuning for top performance, water cooled less so. So the oil/oils in the fuel are as important as the fuel itself. Back plates, whatever guides the mix to the cylinder keeping it's momentum is the best.

FX K303L. Best racing engine on the market today. Good linear power , great mileage. Regular K303 also very good.
