Second update for the tactical battle game I'm working on. Much more functionality now, with a basic menu system in place for choosing which characters to spawn into the battles with, turn meters, and a "home" screen. I'm still not sure how far I'll take this, but there will likely be another update.

Hello Chris Miller or anyone who could help. I imported an animation from Mixamo to Maya, scaled it down but when I press play the animation jumps above the scene I modeled. How can I move the animation back down to the scene and keep it there. Its a a basic walk and I am using Tim a little boy with a red hat.

At 3:14, my animation does not play. I import the fbx file, but nothing happens. The character changes his position, but does not move. Why is that? I did everything as in the video

there is animation on mixamo called "walk up the stair" that animation walking only 2 steps on stair .Is there any way to make it like 10-15 steps up couse when i copy that short animation when the first one finish character going back to start position again and again.I try root motion but its not even close to smooth transition . Best way looking edit that existing animation on maya but i have no idea about how to do
I haven't got Maya on this machine, but you should be able to duplicate the keys with offset (similar to setting a curve to post infinity cycle). My guess would be you could try this in the Graph Editor. When I'm able to test this I'll try to get back to you.

Once I've converted the animation to an "animation clip", is there a way I can still alter that clips animation? The scenario is this: I want to add multiple animation clips, but each set of animations need to be slightly modified to smoothly connect with the other clips. Without loading all the clips in, it's difficult to know what needs modification, but by loading all the clips in, it seems like I'm not able to edit any of them. Is there a way around this? I'm not an animator but I'm doing a VFX shot which requires a decent amount of animation.. I'm really hoping I can streamline this workflow

How come when I drag and drop a different animation for my character into the scene the animation/skeleton doesnt connect/override with my character. Also after I add an animation to the trax editor every fbx I drag and drop into the scene after that has keys in the timeline

I made rig on simple human character with quick rig in Maya 2018 student version.
@@AmeAilav Yeah there seems to be a bug/issue with 2018, I haven't used past 2016 so I can't really help you there
I am using maya 2018 (2019 doesnt work well with mixamo) and if i drag and drop in an animation of mixamo it will be added as an additional skeleton with its own animation and skeleton. How did you setup your preferences or probably importsettings that it will automaticaly adjust the existing rig you already have in the scene?
Sorry for the late reply, was out of the country for a bit. I haven't used 2018 but it seems to be a known bug. There is a potential solution on the Autodesk forum you can try here: forums.autodesk.com/t5/maya-programming/fbx-import-with-merge/td-p/7610006/page/2 Best of luck, but if that doesn't work I would try grabbing a previous version of Maya or Copying the keys themselves from one rig to another.

if you walk in a scene and then stop and look around you will see how the two animations will be at the same location because they start each animation from zero.
I think ım found the animation clip right click and the RELATİVE clip is ok
