I have a grizzly no power to fuel pump I checked the relay and it has power . If i hold down the crank bottom it will run and stay on as soon as I let go it shuts off!!
So the fuel pump will run and stay running as long as you’ve got it in the crank position? Assuming your engine is running at that point?
@@MelloFAB_270 yes if I keep pressing down it will stay on as soon as I release it dies immediately.. I don’t hear the fuel pump prime at all tho. I also have a green screen display .
Our Bruin turns but ill not complete the stars
Start
grizzlis for dummies....thanx
Great video, have a Yamaha Rhino with the same problem!! Looking forward to getting rid of the noisy brakes
Great to the point stuff!! Great job.
Thank you.
Ok Thanks
My fan cuts on but it does want to stay on i have to spin the fan with my fingers to get it to cut back on sometimes it works and other times it won't
If you’re having to spin it by hand then it’s your fan going out.
I'm having the same issue it will cut on but won't stay running.. I replaced the relay but didn't help
If you’re spinning it by hand and it takes off running, then your fan motor is going out
I just bouta brand new 700. It squeaks so much. Bringing it in tomorrow
The dealer is not gonna do anything they are going to tell you it’s normal. If you want the noise to stop this is what needs to be done.
Andy when you make a video like this and you’re gonna show somebody a bolt head start from standing way back on the machine and then slowly move in forward to the bolt so people can actually find what you’re pointing at. Thanks
I just spray the rotors with WD-40 and your good to goooooooooooo.,...
That might stop the noise for the time being but it doesn’t address the problem. The lack of lube on the calipers pins will cause them to seize over time and then you will wear out pads real fast.
@@MelloFAB_270 i was joking 😄. Not exactly safe either
Didn’t know for sure because I read a lot of people do that
On the ground side somehow I'm getting power not a ground if I put a test light to the negative of the battery and put it on the blue wire with the red line on it grounded to the battery the bomb will illuminate lightly and then it will start
Are you on Facebook?
No I'm not
Trying to figure out a better way to communicate on your issue?
What a telephone number be better
Yes.
That really helped
Ive got a 2016 Kodiak 700 EPS. It had hard starts. I changed relays etc. Put a new starter on and it fixed the hard start i was having. Same problem developed again. I found a better, more expensive starter , put it on and fixed it. Now a year later same problem all over again. Hard starts. Seems like the starter doesn't have enough cranking power to turn the motor over. I even bought a new battery last time and its still holding a good charge also. The starters ive bought were all made in China....couldnt find one that wasnt. Do you think it could be a problem with the engine? Crank position etc?
How is the cranking speed when you replace the starters? Is it always a normal fast crank till the starter fails again?
Brother, the two relays that are on the side are blue, what function do they have, can you help me?
If you have a Viking someone installed sled cold weather relays.
I have a yamaha fz1n 2007 code 43 but only when bike gets hot I've put a new battery and still did the same won't start 43 shows but if I let it cool a little and put a jump start on it it fires up really lost
So it won’t crank when hot?
It still cranks just won't start
When it hot it still cranks but won’t start? Does it crank at normal speed or does it crank slow, sluggish, or erratic.
@@MelloFAB_270 cranks as normal tested the pump off bike works fine and put easy start in cyclinder and it fires just no power to fuel pump
Will this work on a 2022 rmax 2seater
Yes
@@MelloFAB_270 thanks
Andy, thanks for the video. Sometimes I get a coolant smell in the exhaust gases when running hot. This is a second hand viking 2026 with 400 hours on. Any tips? Is this normal? Thanks
You shouldn’t actually smell coolant burning. I would check it over real well. Pressure test the cooling system if you have the tools.
I would love a kit for my viking. Please let me know how to get one an how much they are
Great video Andy. Definitely a common thing with the Yamahas.
Yes it’s a common thing with all Yamaha UTV’s as well.
Hi was wondering what size adapter to get for installing and temp gauge
I use 26mm.
If my Viking keeps over heating and never has in the past is this because air is in the lines? Should I bleed it with the engine off?
You should bleed the system with engine off. However the only reason you should get air in the lines is if you open the system, overheat it for any reason enough to blow coolant out then system sucks air in, or you blow a head gasket due to overheat then air will get in system from compression. Is your fan working? Have you throughly cleaned radiator from front and back?
Hey Andy. I was searching TH-cam looking for help on on my 2007 Yamaha grizzly 660. Didn’t know if you could offer any? My issue is the coolant temperature indicator light is “constant on” on the display. From the moment the key is turned on until it’s off.
Even with cold engine?
@@MelloFAB_270 yes. From the moment I turn the key on, start the engine it stays on until I turn off the power.
My vk will run while turning it over
Will run while turning it over?
You're the best. Thanks for the Wolverine videos. I know you don't do videos often but what are the chances you can fabricate a better stronger tailgate. The OEM ones are just trash. I weight 230 and would love to be able to simply sit on the gate when its's down. Have a great 2024.
Thanks for the compliment. Might start working on something like that.
Thank you
Well done
thanks very much
How much is this kit? Does it come with directions that an idiot can understand and do the work?
I have two videos and will give you directions directly or via FaceTime. The system in the video now comes with a pre-over temp alarm. It runs $310. I also have upgraded fans that you can add to the system as well. If you’re interested, message me back and I can give you my contact information.
Thank you again for the reply. I don't have power coming from the ecm when I turn the key on. I have hooked my test light to the hot side of the battery and to the lower right slot in the relay connector. No power. Do you think the ecm is bad??
The pcm doesn’t power it it grounds it. The test light should only light up very briefly when turning key on.
It does not light up at all when i turn the key on. @@MelloFAB_270
I have the same problem. Where is the ecm located and how do I test it???
ECM is in front of battery. You test the relay socket to see if you have your two powers and the appropriate ground for relay to close and send power to fuel pump.
Are you still offering help on no start issues?
Yes absolutely
Where can I get one of these kits?
Are you on Facebook?
@@MelloFAB_270 yes
Just installed this and it's a sweet set up. Fan comes on at 185 deg. and is a simple install. Thanks Andy for making this!
Glad you are enjoying it. You will love the lower temps and being able to watch the temperature on the gauge.
I just followed this video with my super squeaky 2021 Viking 6. Took me maybe an hour and it is silent now! Not a squeak when slowing down, turning or anything! Andy Mello appreciate you and the time spent making this.
kinda ,should, are not good words to inspire confidence when teaching.....
I used should properly in the video when describing the powers and the ground. You should have those signals in those locations but you might not. I also stated what it means when you don’t have those signals and I didn’t use kinda when referring to the diagnostics in the video.
Thank you. Brand new 2022 squeaky from day one. Perfectly quiet now
You are welcome. It is a great fix that’s for sure.
Good video. Thank you
Your welcome.
Do you need to do any kind of belt break in with a Yamaha replacement belt? Also, if the sides of the belt are shiny at all, is it glazed and should be replaced? Thanks.
Depends on how shiny. As far as break in it’s the same as a new machine.
Will this work on a Yamaha rmax? And if so where can I find the link to buy this?
Yes, it does work on the RMAX. I even have custom switches that pop in to the dash just give me a call directly 1-270-246-0544.
Excellent video!! Rolling squeak and brake squeal totally gone on 2022 Viking 700. Thanks so much
I have a 2009 Yamaha 700 - with same symptoms- no power to fuel pump (pump does work - applied isolated power to it). Recently replaced wiring harness, relay (relay gets correct voltage and ground)and the fuse is good - any ideas?
If your relay has two powers like in the video and a ground then the relay should close and send power to the fuel pump. Have you ohmed from the fuel pump relay connector to the fuel pump?
@@MelloFAB_270 yes - is there more than one relay for the fuel pump system?
I unhooked the power at the fuel pump - turned the key on and relay is not sending voltage -
@@darylcox5299 if you have continuity from fuel pump relay to fuel pump and your fuel pump ground is good then the fuel pump has to work when power is applied to that pin. Unless pump is bad. If your on Facebook then pm me.
@@darylcox5299 if the relay is not sending voltage in the wire from the relay to the pump is good they needed the relay is not getting grounded by the ECM, it does not have the two powers needed to work, or the relay is bad.
That little tid bit did help thank you !
I'm having issues with 2019 Kodiak 450. Cranks no start...has new battery and fuel in it. The fuses next to the battery and relay all look good. What am I missing sir??? Thanks

Will it crank? Does fuel pump run when you turn key on?
Is this for a RMAX?
No the rhino, Viking, gen1 Wolverine, X2, and X4
@@MelloFAB_270 OK thanks. I'll delete the video from my files.
Thank you sir for your excellent instruction. My 2022 Wolverine X4 squeaks terribly. I'm going to try this. I would have thought the grease on the backside of the pads would have collected too much dust and dirt?
Not if you just put a slight film.
I have a 2011 rhino 700, it will crank and crank and won’t hit a bit , possible starter relay?
Is the fuel pump running?
Best that I can tell mine is fuel injection and I can smell gass after I crank it for several seconds
