It is good. But for that little difference in price you'd better off with 7700xt. 4gb more ram and is more 1440p capable. It's closer to 4070 than it is to 4060ti, which imo is more of a 1080p card. Over here 4060 ti 8gb is 410 eur and 16gb model starts around 470 eur. 7700xt starts around 450. Now me personally i'd save just a bit more and get 4070 which goes for 590 for the asus dual fan model. But if i had a fixed budget, 7700xt is the way to go.

​@@Andytlp in your currency, ASUS TUF Tri 4060 Ti 8GB here is 339.49 EURO... a big gap between 7700 XT at 444.56 EURO, slightly less expensive to yours... I wish I could get 4070S actually but it is too expensive here. Whooping around 597.59 EURO at minimum for XFX 4070S.

@@Venlorz Damn those are inexpensive compared to here. For 340 euro 4060ti is the way to go then over 7700xt. For you 4070s costing the same as 4070 here is nuts. You have to decide for yourself. If you wanna buy a piece of hardware that you'll probably use for 1-2 years. If you dont have the patience to save up a few hundred more over a couple months i get it. It makes more sense to buy a stronger gpu if you dont sell the gpu before new generation comes out to recoup some cost to buy a new gpu.

How much is the 4070 and 4070 Super there? Any good deals?

@@MrAlternation GRE if you want to save from cash but slower perf, XTX if you want AMD's fastest and if you have 1k$+ to spend. It really depends on your needs.

I have an AS Rock Steel Legend 7900gre. My GPU hotspot has never been over 85-86'. Running Ark Ascended at max settings online the GPU temp sits in the mid 60s. Overclocking it gets you right at 7900xt performance for a really good price.

@@teddysurf thanks for the feedback back. I currently don't have anything budget cpu. I do have 7700x and an older core i7 10th gen CPU. But I do have a 4090 which I will make a video soon.

5080 is only 10% faster than 4090 according to DF so no. Maybe 5090 but definitely not 5080 if that's any baseline. 6000 series for sure.

@@ehenningsen the difference is not that obvious with the benchmark tool. Perhaps it will be more obvious when the actual game releases during gameplay. Mid and high looks similar though

@@jmdb8768 thanks for watching! I can only guess since there are variables involved. Here are some of my guesses: 1. GPU silicone quality 2. Perhaps it was overclocked or boosted via MSI center or after urner 3. Lower operating temps thus the GPU boost higher/longer Or combination of these

@@xenoBALOT87 YT compression is affecting the quality. Try loading the 4k version of the video. Or pause at some point.

I dony see a difference either. The only thing I ever noticed with ray tracing, is that there are reflections in the water and metal is very shiny.

In fact, this game always uses RT, turning off RT only turns off Nvidia RT. When you turn off RT, the game will switch to lumen RT, a form of RT using software but with less performance. The quality reaches 30 - 60% compared to conventional full ray tracing

Many channels who reviewed or showcased the 7900 gre would tell that it's the best or at least one of the best for 1440p. While it is a good gpu for 1440p gaming, there are other (better) options. And between the 7900 gre and 7800 xt, I'm leaning towards the latter. but between 7900 gre and 4070S, i'll pick 4070S as well for the same reasons you mentioned. I'll do a 4070 super vs 7900 gre comparison next.

@@hardwarevsgaming yeah this channels are advertising a £600 7900gre nitro plus what i had to overclokc for 5 extra fps…. A 7800xt £100 cheaper and almost same performane. Best 1440p gpu or 7800xt or 4070s

@@johngarka4866 what is your monitor's resolution? If you game at 1080p either would do fine tbh. The RTX 4060 has FG and is more power efficient which is an advantage over the 3060. But if you can get a 3060 (new) at the lower price, that's also hard to ignore.

@@johngarka4866 yes either would do fine. Get RTX 3060 if there's a really good deal since it's older. But note that it doesn't support frame gen. If you want frame gen feature and power efficiency, RTX 4060 it is.

Well it's true tho. If there were only one 7900 and it was xtx then you'd be right. But 7900gre and xt are indeed more suited for 2k and not 4k.

7900gre is capable of 4k 50-60fps in most not ray tracing titles. It’s definitely a 1440p card but can do more

i thinks its minimal, bc as you go higher resolution. the more you use the gpu unless if a game/software is cpu intensive by nature.

@@SammyGoated I don't think it would be a big issue and you probably wouldn't lose much. Sure, you may get a few more fps with faster CPUs, like the X3D, but generally you wouldn't feel or see the difference, not unless you benchmark them and only focus on the numbers.

@@Berkelll I don't like that type of support bracket as well. Don't use it. Since the card is long despite being slim, it sags a little bit. Just use a different type of anti sag or holder. Similar to the one I use. Anything that could support the rear-end of the card

@@IvanyiMozes it's probably the recording and/or encoding. I recorded the benchmarks using AV1. Unfortunately, I didn't know Premiere Pro doesn't natively support AV1 yet. Had to convert it to H.265. it may not look smooth, but in actual it looks smooth in my screen. Though anything below 60 fps doesn't.

@@RASTA-77 yes, 850w is enough for 4070S. Be sure to use native 16-pin or two (individual) 8-pin PCIe (not pigtail) if using the adapter

Not sure with the rpm since I only use stock. But yes, ~70 °C +/- is acceptable.

Hello! There is no "3070 Super". NVIDIA only released an RTX 3070 and 3070 Ti. But for the RTX 40 series, there are four xx70 cards: 4070, 4070 Super, 4070 Ti and 4070 Ti Super. The RTX 4070 Super is roughly 42% faster than the RTX 3070 on average (give or take) And it is about 15% faster than the RTX 3070 Ti on average (give or take).

@@GatitoMagicoTH-camr ah if it's slim vs the 3-slot design, i don't think there's a huge difference. the 4070 super GPU is not that hot compared to the 4080 and 4090. I'm positive that the performance difference would be negligible. But I think the thicker one would have a slightly lower temp since it has a larger heatsink.

Hello! How much is the 4070 Super in your area? Because, between the 4070 and 4070 Super, the 4070 Super is the better option. But if you are limited to the RTX 4060 Ti 16GB or the RTX 4070, the 4070 is much better.

@@wojstube9359 hello! As mentioned in the video, I enabled DLSS in some games with the RTX 4070 Super. You can see the settings used just below the FPS counter. Meanwhile, in some games like Baldur's Gate 3, I didn't enable DLSS since the RTX 4070 Super was capable of delivering more than 60fps in that particular game without DLSS upscaling or frame gen. At 4k tests, I'm merely showing that the RTX 4070 super can still play games at 4K, but it may need the help of upscaling or frame gen just to keep up with the RTX 4080 super's raw performance.

@@charlesmwolf yes, most of the time. You can see the config I used. It's indicated on each benchmark run. To be clear I am referring to DLSS upscaling tech, which increases the frame rate. I did not use DLSS 3 Frame generation (FG), which "smoothens" the gameplay by generating frames. The two are different, but can be used independently or both.

People that have a 1440p monitor and wants to future proof their GPU choice if they want to jump to a 4K monitor?

@@asviel-pq1dl this, if I compared the two GPUs in 4k, the 2080S gameplay will look terrible. It's already having a hard time in some scenarios or games, how much more if I tested it in 4k.
