Biggering Storyboard (Old Practice - read description)

Book: The Lorax 1971 Film: The Lorax 1972 & 2012 Song: Biggering - The 88 (The Lorax Demo 2012 Illumination) Done on ibisPaint X I definitely got inspired by Gloriadrewthis’s (Whysoanimated) Biggering Storyboard in some of the scenes. As well as “The Lorax” 2012 concept art, “The Lorax” 1972 film, and Dr. Seuss “The Lorax” 1971 book. (I might eventually remake it) Edit: Hello there! 1 Million v...
When I originally saw the Lorax 2012 I thought “hey this kinda destroys everything the original had but at least it’s entertaining” and left it at like, a 5/10 rating in my mind. But now that I know this song exists, AND clearly can work great with a scene as shown in this video, we were so robbed. This is infinitely better than anything in the movie which was released and it honestly makes me really hate it now
I love these re-imagining of the other story bord video, the transition from the past leading to the present. His eyes becoming more violent and deranged, and lastly how his face becomes more and more covered. With addition with his gloves becoming the only colored part of him, really giving a nice "Foreshadowing to his future self" (And a great callback to the original). I honestly love how this was put together, and would be hyped to hear if someone fully animated it :)
2:56
And to think this song was supposed to be in a kids film
I really think that your storyboard is as good as Biggering
I bet if The Lorax gets turned into a Broadway musical, Biggering would definitely fit right into the soundtrack.
0:25 It’ll cure those f**king peas in ur chest
Please Warner make a new version of the Lorax with this song or at least similar (I say this because Illumination does not have the rights and Warner are the ones who have the rights to make adaptations by Dr Seuss)
Truly musical genious
4:31 no way you pulled an avatar and subtly put an American flag as the background (look at the stars to the top-left, then the lines of made up of smog and the sky)
This song and this animatic in particular are up there with the presentation from some of the greatest animated musical numbers: Hellfire from Hunchback and The Plagues from Prince of Egypt. Striking visuals, operatic choir, and just absolutely hard hitting in every way
So my friend is really interested in this movie and he wants to know when the onceler part is and it’s in 1960s
I love how the Oncelor’s work gloves get bigger, as if to emphasize how his ego and greed keep growing as he grows in wealth.
No one is talking about how in the song, someone was smoking Thneed. Truffula is addictive?
I feel like both songs could've showed in the film. Biggering and How Bad Can I Be were both fitting for the Once-ler. One shows how good he thought he was while the other shows how dark he actually became
-Use a ton of the budget on an amazing song -Make the song accurately portray corporate greed -Oops, that sounds like us -Cancel the song -Make a crappy song that portrays companies much lighter -Refuse to elaborate -Release the movie
4:06 To be honest, Ted's face when he hears this... shows that he no longer has motivations to have a girlfriend... but rather motivations to save nature and the environment that surrounds them... Which would make more sense and WOULD BE A GREAT MEANINGFUL SCENE IF ONLY ILLUMINATION COULD HAVE ACCEPTED THIS DARK BUT GREAT SONG. 💥
That was Ted's original point, he would learn a lesson about materialism and that being selfish was the reason why the world is the way it is, he would change his way of thinking by learning to be a better person and he would truly care about the trees giving them more development. and depth
Of course, if Illumination had accepted that original plot for Ted
loving this
4:21 Who is it?
:the onceler looks like you could be Willam Afton, is it just me?
This is amazing, it deserves more attention
They could use the "How Ban Can I Be" in the start, when the Once-Ler didn't lose his sanity. And "Biggering" would be when he lost his sanity, to show how the greedy corruped him.
I'd just like to point out: What a very interesting choice in 4:31 to add a flock of birds on the top left of the screen It makes the red stripe fogs and the blue resemble a country's flag
It looks like the flag of the United States
3:53 Lorax wants to reach out to past Once-ler I'm not crying...
This implies that the Lorax can still see his old self and does everything possible to save him and return to what he was before, but unfortunately it is too late.
All rise for the Stellaris Megacorp player anthem
This animatic is so good I thought it was made by the team themselves!
from tumblr twink loserman to tony montana in ONE SONG
lol i think onceler in books is something like tony montana
i love how you combined features from the biggering AND how bad can i be
Maybe kids would understand the movie more befofe they grow up and re watch if this crucial part wasnt thought to be too much
I love how the tiny details of the Onceler having a wedding ring and a picture of (presumably) Norma on his desk to signify how much time has passed since the beginning of the animatic. Very subtle but nice touches!
I hate biggers! Biggers are so evil!
Man... If they put this banger in the film, man this sums up a lot of the world's problems... Well illumination...
I love how as the song goes on, the Once-ler’s face get shown less and less until his face is completely obscured. It’s a perfect representation of how he’s becoming corrupted and how he eventually becomes a completely empty shell of his former self.
Yeah, it does sound like an perfect representation of how far the Once-ler have fallen with letting greed and pride both consuming him. And yet Illumination thought it would be "too dark" for kids and instead made "How Bad Can I Be?" in the final cut.
@@billymccrary2246 no they cut it because it full on called out the corruption in cooperate businesses which they were too scared to do. The person who wrote Biggering and the original script said that illumination immediately made him redo everything to fit what they wanted for the movie
@@WrathVirusOfficial As I understand it, this song belongs to an original script where the plot was closer to the original material and was darker, like Thneedville was going to have darker tones like they can't see the sun because of the pollution, the buildings are broken, etc, and Ted's motivation was different, he only wanted the tree to have something that others don't have (basically greed) this is in the thneedville demo song, I remember that the writer mentioned that Illumination forced Ted's motivation to change. wanting the tree for a girl (something he didn't like) eliminate biggering and make a friendly movie
@@estrella-om7tu would have been better than what they gave us that’s for sure
@@WrathVirusOfficial If you can see that the movie had potential just by listening to this song and the others that were eliminated from the movie that told a darker story closer to the original material, it's a shame that Illumination didn't give the writers creative freedom.
Who let woody sing in the Lorax?
This is another amazing storyboard of Biggering
#releasethebiggeringcut LET'S GET ILLUMINATION TO MAKE A SHORT OF THIS SONG!!
Good parallel: In 2:13 Lorax is looking down on Onceler In 4:18 Onceler is looking down on Lorax
I would love to see a fully animated version of this song (Though I know Illumination likes to be a bastard about these sorts of things)!
I feel like in this movies making a lot of cool people had lots of great ideas and then someone came in and was: It’s A kiDs MoVIe! Why put so much effort into there? And it all got wasted
I'm BIGGERING!
Apparently, this was just The Onceler's voice actor having fun and doing improv. Ironically, that was the case for Jack Black singing "Peaches," except Illumination decided to leave that in as a short, comedic musical number.
The oceler just feels much more powerful and unhinged in biggering. In the other song, it just feels like another clichê villain.
My favourite animation so far
Love that you visually referenced the original movie
this must’ve taken forever it’s so cool
00:00:03 is
i hope one day this goes to a exelent 3d animation! 😭😭❤❤
4:24 how can you make the onceler look more badass
Your onceler is so creepy and I love it!
So do i! Just like the original one.
My headcanon is that biggering is what actually happened but how bad can i be is the version that oncler told the child because he didn’t want so scare the wazoo out of him or something
