@soundofmai I'm getting the studio back up and running at the moment. We should have some new music next year.
Great to hear that mate, I look forward to hearing it :)
Very nice !
Thanks Eldon!
Love it!!! Nice~~
Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Deep n dubby! Great stuff MC.
Thanks mate, very glad you enjoyed it!
Lovely. Trying to decide what do buy. Should I prefer this over Digitone if I can afford only one? Thanks.
Thanks! I don't have a Digitone, but the first thing I would do is listen to music made with both and see which sound you prefer. I personally prefer the sound of the A4, but I also really like the sound of the Digitone and many people prefer that. Besides the sound, another reason I prefer the A4 is that I love the performance controls on the A4. Once they are set up I don't even have to look at the screen when performing. They make the A4 feel really alive to me and because of these it is my favorite Elektron machine to perform with.
dope sounds again!
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it!

Really dope again lovin that base comin at 3:40
Thanks man! I made that sample with the Prophet 12 desktop, one of my favorite synths. Very glad you enjoyed it!
@ is the whole bass sequence a sample or do you manipulate it on the octa? Never have had a chance to try out a prophet 12 it seems like a really cool synth, somewhat less talked about, feels like it’s a bit forgotten alhtough it seems like an amazing synth!
I used a small slice of it in other parts but in this part I used the whole sequence and just added some delay and delay feedback with the fader. Yes, the prophet 12 always gives me something different than analog synths but can still sound kind of analog with it's filters, it sometimes takes a bit of work to find the sweet spots but it's worth it. :)
Sounds great! Do you use the cue outs for the Space reverb?
Thanks Anton! I send the kick and bass/sub to the cue outs and they go into 1 stereo channel in my mixer. All other tracks are sent to the the main outs, which go into another stereo channel on my mixer with an aux send on that channel that I use to add the Space reverb.
finest contaminations!
tickles my brain just right
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it!
Crazy to think theres only four voices happening at any given time. Sounds amazing. Whats the learning curve on these like?
Thanks Cormac! I use sound locks a lot so I don't ever feel limited by 4 voices. The learning curve can be quite steep, but that's only because it's a very deep machine, which is a good thing. You can get going straight away with preset sounds and adjust them to your liking. There's still so much that I haven't fully explored and I think it's my favorite synth. :)

Fire track and live! Everytime i hear A4 drums i feel like it’s A4 i’m after more than rytm.. can’t decide but def gonna get either one as soon as possible the sequencer seems cool af
@@SEMIWORLDWIDE Thanks a lot, very glad you enjoyed it! Yes, I love the drums on the A4. I have both and if I had to choose 1 purely as a drum machine I would choose the Rytm, but I really love using the A4 as a machine that doesn't need any external sounds and I also love how it feels so alive when using the performance controls. Yes, the sequencer is what I love most about Elektron machines. If you ever have any questions about the A4 and/or Rytm feel free to ask.
@@soundofmaiyea it’s a hypnotic set bro! Yeah i’m on a lookout for an analog drum machine firstly, have been eyeing Rytm and alpha base (jomox sounds so good) but now lately i’ve seen ppl doing fire things with A4 and the thought of being able to pull a live set with only that interests me, and the drums sound really good. Rytm drums sound good too, but A4 has a cool synth seq thing on top of that, kind of reminds me of vermona perfourmer. So do you do the snare on the same track/osc with the hats, editing the step? U make it sound like it has way more voices than 4! How is the A4 when connecting other stuff, is it good as a sequencer for other synths?
And i also love to make my own drum sounds with a synth engine so that’s why A4 would also work well for me, although u can do that on rytm too and it has great drum engines (or machines? In elektron terms?). I wonder if A4 would work well with mpc bc i have mpc one so that could do all the sample stuff when needed, have u tried?
@@SEMIWORLDWIDE Yes, I use sound locks a lot and sometimes have the snare and hats on the same track, I think sound locks are the key to unlocking the full potential of this machine. You could definitely do a live set with it and the performance controls are a lot of fun to use. It's great for sequencing other synths, I've used it with the 0-Coast.
@@SEMIWORLDWIDE Yes, I like the Rytm sound of the Rytm machines, but some people don't and they are not as deep as the synthesis on the A4, so you would just need to see if that sound is for you. The A4 works well with my MPC One as long as the MPC One is the master. Hope that helps.
Yeaaaah! The MPC is so much better for different styles of electronic music than I thought when I first got one. Sold it and just got another haha. This was a really good performance. Really loved all of the percussion and texture.
@@remyvegamedia It sure is, at first I felt that you needed to be making hip hop to have fun performing with it and it took me a while to find a workflow that I like but I love using it now. Thanks man, very glad you enjoyed it!
Which mpc best for dub techno?
@@atommachine I've only used the MPC One, but it's more about the plugins than the hardware and my personal favorite plugin synths are Hype and Jura. Hype comes with the One and Live, you need to buy Jura.
@@soundofmai can you sample your outboard synths and chop to pads with long tails with delay ect? Thanks for the heads up on the plugins. 👍
@@atommachineYou can, that's what I did with this one. I didn't need to do any chopping, I just assigned each sample to a pad after recording it. I enjoy using the plugins more so far though because I like assigning the synth parameters of those to the Q-link encoders, it sounds a bit better to me than using plugin effects on a synth that I sampled. No problem.
great I like the way you play

Nice music, but it's housy not techno style
You're right, I've been in quite a deep techno mood with a lot of my music recently so that slipped past me when I uploaded it. I'm just going to remove the genre from this title because it might not fit neatly into house for some people either. Thanks a lot for the kind words and feedback Alex!
