Canon R5 Mk II 4k 30 fps "Fine" Video Sample Recording
Out gaining landscape photography experience at Hawk Hill in the Golden Gate National Recreation Area, Marin, CA overlooking the bridge and bay when the scene just demanded to be captured longer form.
Video recording made using Canon's RF-24-70mm F2.8 L IS USM Lens at a 36mm focal length in pure camera fully "Automatic" settings beyond selecting the 4K 29.97 fps "Fine" recording mode. None of the camera's video menus had yet been altered from factory new settings. Sound recorded using only the camera's built-in microphones with no windsocks attached. Camera mounted on a tripod during the entire 1-minute-long recording.
After viewing, I thought sharing it with others who may also be considering acquiring this new camera might be helpful in their purchasing decision. This video file is straight out of the camera and has not been processed nor edited in any manner before uploading to TH-cam. File properties indicate recorded at 100 mbps which is the 4K max standard for the original file though TH-cam's bitrate will be approximately 1/2 or less of that due to their normal compression routines after uploading.

Located at a elevation of 3,089 m (10,132 ft) above sea level in the Swiss Alps for an unobstructed view of The Matterhorn and its surrounding peaks.

ツェルマットではアジア人観光客をたくさん見かけました。 日本から何人が来たのかは定かではありませんが、日本語でアナウンスを聞くことは、日本からの訪問者に対応する必要性を示す良い指標です。 I did see many Asian tourist in Zermatt while there. How many were from Japan I'm not certain but hearing the announcements in Japanese is a good indicator of the need to address the visitors from the country.

We spent 10 days in and near Zermatt as part of a European trip some years ago. It was early autumn, and raining lightly when we alighted from the Glacier Express to be met by a horse-drawn carriage to take us to a very, very comfortable hotel on the town square. Then the rest of the time, we stayed in a cottage a few minutes walk from one of the Bahn's stations - Riffelberg from memory, certainly well towards the top. We certainly needed a fire each night to keep warm. We'd travel down to the town each day for various expeditions, sometimes staying there for an early dinner (the last train back was around 19.30 or so), sometimes buying some food to cook ourselves. Very different to our suburban life here and a great experience.
Just to add - we were travelling independently and not part of an organised tour.

I heard Japanese in the information voice in the train. Are there many Japanese people in this area?
I believe that was Chinese (Mandarin?) instead of Japanese used. Not that I speak either but simply based on the number of tourist I saw in Zermatt. The welcoming announcement was made in 3 different languages: Deutch; English & Mandarin(?)

the matterhorn ride at disneyland was one of the only rides i ever liked there. probably the only one. it was my favorite. i have good taste apparently . i later found out it was a real mountain! i cant stand all the movie based rides...except i love the log ride and indiana jones. and tom sawyers island...but they are all very old rides..oh and i love pirates... and the jungle cruise was good... and i like new orleans square...

Did this trip in September 2011 and rode the Glacier Express from Chur to Brigg. Fabulous scenery, would definitely recommend.

I rode the Gornergrat Bahn in 1991 on a visit to Zermatt. Thank you for sharing and providing a nice memory. I was there in summer and less snow. I was backpacking around Switzerland and wanted to honor my Friend Kevin who Tragically lost his life on a North wall Matterhorn Assent in '88. I spent several days in Zermatt. Beautiful to say the least. Breathtaking squared.
it would be a lot nicer if the camera could pan left and right to show the amazing views from the train, otherwise, ok.
This entire journey was so trimendous l have thurly enjoyed every minute of it, also the views are really good, but just to let you know that in another video l have flown up to the top & round the Matterhorn by helicopter 🚁 & that was great, so thanks to everyone who made this nice video, very, very enjoyable .

Beside the cogwheel, an interesting point for electrical engineers is that this line is one of two three-phase powered lines in Switzerland (the other one being the Jungfraujoch). Look at the double overhead wire system, and the complexity of contactless crossings above the switches
I just wonder why they bothered have 2 electrical lines going up next to each other. Surely you wouldn't need any power if you are going downhill?
