The ONLY Butter Chicken Recipe You Need!
The only butter chicken recipe you'll need! The perfect balance of buttery and flavoursome without being overly rich and sweet.
Please note, the video in the recipe shows half the quantities of the recipe. Please use the quantities listed in the ingredients and instructions on screen.
INGREDIENTS (serves 3)
For the chicken marination
500g boneless chicken, cut into bite sized pieces (I prefer thigh)
1.5 tbsp greek or full fat yogurt
2 tbsp lemon juice
1 tsp coriander powder
0.5 tsp turmeric powder
0.5 tsp garam masala powder
1 tsp red chilli powder
salt, to taste (I used 0.5 tsp)
For the sauce
1/4 cup or 60ml neutral oil (e.g. sunflower oil, vegetable oil, canola oil)
2 tsp or 10g butter
150g/1 medium onion, chopped
2 tbsp chopped garlic
1.5 tsp cumin seeds
1 chopped green chilli
0.5 tsp turmeric powder
2 tsp coriander powder
4 tsp mild paprika powder (if yours isn't mild, add 2 initially and adjust as per preference)
salt, to taste (I used 1.5 tsp)
375g/5 small to medium tomatoes, chopped
1/2 cup or 120ml double cream (heavy whipping cream)
2 tbsp dried fenugreek (kasoori methi)
2 tbsp chopped coriander
2 tsp (10g) butter, to stir in at the end

How do you get the roti to rotate when rolling? Mine for some reason doesn’t rotate and it is hard to make it round.

It worked, I did it!! And the steaming part where you wrap a cloth under and around onto the top of the lid feeds my emotional well. No idea why, but it's all good. Thank you

We do not add onion and hara dhania in it we make kebab and fill it in the centre and we add beaten eggs in the mixture this way we dont need to keep dipping then in egg and they look a smooth finish and not the eggs bits on it.

Nah...so dry and ugly looking Shami kebabs ...Nobody can eat such ugly looking food...BTW it has such a dry texture like crumble cookies 🍪
They are yummy even if we grind them in an onion chopper or grinder BTW your shami kebabs look so dry

You don’t mention if you leave the heat on when putting the rice in the buttered pan if the trau you put the rice pan on is over the heat or just covered with the cloth.?
It’s over a veryyyy low heat

Are there any healthier organic brands of white and yellow rice? I know basmati rice is still white rice but is it healthy. I been eating more brown and black rice cuz I know its healthier. I still wanna eat white and yellow rice just healthier brand
I can’t help you in this regard as I’ve only tried white basmati rice, but perhaps someone reading these comments may be able to help you! Side note, the cooking method and times would change if you used a different kind of rice than shown in the video

My roti are becoming close to round The first couple are a strange shape at the begin of rolling. I use a plain dowel not an American rolling pin, Odd shapes still taste good.
