    YES. This is such a cool project! Did you go off the rails at all from the plans and make it custom?

    Best invention in this century: Epoxy as glue for fillets and a happy combination with fiberglass. Knowing that wings of an airplane nowadays are constructed with a 3 components epoxy and heated in ovens. Not a single nail needed. The recipe? They try to keep it secret. Fanny thing to realize that you can repair polyester with epoxy . Repairing epoxy with polyester gives trouble.

    Nice boat, I didn't see any shrouds or forstay or backstay. Is the mast stable? Is it considered a gaff rigged cat boat? It s a really nice build, I guess you ha a sleeping bag.

    Dave this is a great build. I just love Micro-cruising. I was the last (mass) builder of the West Wight Potter in the UK.(dare I say now too big for my kind of Micro-Cruising;-) I most def want to build an Enigma and am happy to work it all out from scratch if only I could find some lines? Can you help me there please? Can use CAD files. Thanks in anticipation. Larry

    • @daveandgoliath.7917
      @daveandgoliath.7917 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes. It's points about 45 degrees. Nothing special. You need to be heeling well over for them to dig in in light air.

      Yes I did have a yuloh. Unfortunately I broke it at pivot point. I might repair it but am unsure. I am using a stand up paddle board paddle at the moment with success. Ps. I had troubles using the Yuloh. Just couldn't get the knack

    Great little mini!! Love the simplicity.. Only change I would have made personally, would be to use a mast aft rig. No mast in the middle of the cabin and the sail could be set from the cabin with remote leads.

    • @daveandgoliath.7917
      @daveandgoliath.7917 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I would have loved to get the mast out of the cabin. Maybe should have made it a cat boat rig

  • @josephlai9759

    Your design and construction is beautiful. May I ask whether the chine runners were bolted or screwed on backing plates solidly to the hull besides being glued?

    • @daveandgoliath.7917
      @daveandgoliath.7917 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      They are glued with epoxy. And wrapped in several layers of fiberglass. Now I have permanently fixed the ballast to the inside,they have screws too. A great remake would be to cast the China Runners in lead

    • @josephlai9759
      @josephlai9759 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@daveandgoliath.7917 Thank you. Lead would add ballast definitely and I think in that sense is good but would require a bolt-on attachment to the hull though.

    Your boat radiates quality of build from every angle the camera captured. This is the perfect micro cruiser for solo sailing, and being able to sail from within the cabin in wet and cold weather is hugely beneficial, likewise the 'liveaboard' capabilities. I look forward to following your adventures and seeing more of the interior of Dave and Goliath (speaking of which, that's such a wonderful choice of name!). Subscribed.

    How lovely to see such meticulous, precise craftsmanship and attention to detail! Your ingenuity and determination to construct this beautiful design without the benefit of having plans proves that you are not deterred by difficulties! It is unfortunate that the smaller craft from this highly innovative designer are not drafted into plans as I believe that there would be a consistent demand for them. If you have details, measurements, build photos, etc, I would be happy to buy a set from you. Thank you for sharing your beautiful build, you've certainly inspired people to seriously consider building this gorgeous, capable little craft.

      @@daveandgoliath.7917 more than keeping the camera steady is panning more slowly and scan smoothly from one spot to another then pause. That said, great video and oh man I love your Paradox! It is a work of art :)
