I BOUGHT ALL NEW GEAR FOR MY FIRST BACKPACKING TRIP!
When I decided to go on my first backpacking trip, I figured i had most the gear from years of camping, hunting and fishing. Boy was i wrong! I had to research and buy all new gear. I decided to try the Banks Pedal Monster on my 6.7 Cummins (RAM). I wanted to put the BPM to the test in a Diesel truck. I wanted to see how the BPM responded to the ever annoying Turbo Lag. I’ve had this truck for 2 years and in that span of time I have had 3 sets of tires. The Firestone Transforce that came factory, the BFG K02 and now the Nitto Ridgegrappler. All 3 served a purpose. All three have their good and bad. This is my opinion on the three sets of tires.

I tested my YETI and it kept ice for 5 days in hot weather. I wanted to test my Coleman in the same conditions. I wasn’t Surprised by the results.
YETI 65 - ICE TEST

I put 3 bags of ice in the my YETI 65 to see how long it would last while in my garage that was 95 degrees. I was pretty impressed by the YETI and look forward to getting many uses out of it. The ice lasted 5 days and the water stayed cold for another day and could have probably stay cold for another 24 hours. Highly recommend The YETI 65

BFG KO2 Review Part 2: BFG warranties the KO2

The KO2 was a decent tire but after I put aftermarket wheels, the KO2 wouldn’t balance. Turns out the KO2 had Cupping and feathering with only 2k miles on them. BFG warrantied the the KO2s and I put on some Ridge Grapplers. 295/60/20

My 2022 3500 bighorn doesn't have this feature at all or does it ?
I’m not sure on the new gen trucks. My truck is an 18’ (4th Gen). I can say that some people have commented that their 4th gen doesn’t have it. All that to say that the truck may have to be programmed with that specific software. I kind of stumbled on it after owning the truck for a while.

I don't see this on my 2017 Ram Laramie DRW HD 6.7 with GPS
I have friends that have the Ridge Grapplers and have 50000 miles on them and still look good. But they don’t do much off road with them
Looking into these as well, those factory tires are BS, on rainy days just accelerating normal from a stop my wheels start spinning. I don’t trust those wheels at all when the pavement is wet. Even a small puddle when turning a corner they just start spinning, total bs. my job put OTANI wheels on my work truck and it has way better grip than the Firestone.
2022 6.7. Just installed on a bone stock truck and I’m super impressed. It just makes the power that the truck has naturally available so much faster. If I didn’t know what it was I would swear it has more horsepower. Great work by Banks.
Right on. I just purchased a 2016 Ram Laramie 3500 6.7 DRW. I’m new to owning a Ram let alone a truck or a diesel. This info is helpful. I noticed the couple times I’ve hit the accelerator to the floor, just to see what the motor was about, a service message would come up. Anyways I’ve joined a Ram forum and some lean to this filter you spoke of possibly needing replacement. Thanks for the video.

The oil, coolant and transmission temps should be on the gauge cluster. Just scroll through the options until you find vehicles info and then scroll down until you find the temps. They’re not 100% accurate. They’ve close though

Did your wheels only shake in the rear at 45 +mph? I heard the balance have to be almost perfect on these trucks in the rear. I have had my tires balanced 3 times (road force balance) which did help but still shakes in the rear.
Yeah, they only shook during 45-55 mph speeds. I’ve learned that these trucks usually have a shake in them. Everyone I know that has one has a small shake to it. I have stocks back on my truck and it still has a small shake at 70mph. 🤷♂️
Installed mine today and it’s the worst thing ever just installed it and immediately threw my camera system out and no longer works nor my edge cts3 gauge doesn’t work either

After seeing a lot of the comments. It must have been an option or an upgrade. A lot of people don’t have this feature. This feature was part of the truck when I bought it, I didn’t order it.
@Zia Outdoor Diesel I ordered my truck with all the options minus the roadside safety kit. So, not sure either. Maybe a mid yr update.

Yes, it has to stay plugged in. It talk with the computer while your driving.

What is the function of high idle please and thank you.
High idle is to increase engine temperatures to ensure proper combustion of the diesel fuel, reducing “cylinder wash” and reducing oil being contaminated with diesel fuel which would cause accelerated engine wear.

I have a 2014 that high Idols at 1000 RPM after about 3 minutes of warm up it kicks into high idle by itself 1,000 RPM

No, I didn’t unhook the batteries.

You can change settings while driving. You just have to take your foot off the gas pedal and make the change

I’m not sure what year that became available. I would imagine that the head unit has to support that type of software. So either the dealership can install the software onto your head unit or you need an updated head unit.
Does this item void any warranty on the truck ?
No it’s does not. If you have to take it to the dealership, take it out and it doesn’t leave a footprint. It plugs into your OBD2 so it’s east to do

That limited to fancy trucks. The tradesman with same size media does not come equipped with that fancy rich ppl stuff. Just fyi I have a 2022
Yeah, I hear ya. A lot of these fancy gizmos and gadgets are reserved for the higher end models but I have a Big Horn and as everyone knows, the Big Horn is a middle of the road model. It could be that when the dealership ordered this truck specifically, they added an upgraded head unit. My head unit has Navigation and some other cool stuff but the truck is otherwise, very much a Big horn.
I have a 2021 Ram 2500 Diesel with that same display but I do not have that user guide. There are only about 5 things under the "Apps" menu. Is that something the dealer would have to allow through a program or flash? Thanks for the info
Yeah, I’m assuming all that stuff would have to be downloaded and programmed from the dealership or possibly a 3rd party programming. I’m not sure if the head unit itself has to be able to support it.

There is very low road noise. If you have your radio on, you won’t even notice. I have since changed to a different tire but I liked the KO2. Also, the Firestones that come in these trucks are terrible. Surprised you got 18k out of them.
