They're not cheap, but another great set of compact lenses for Fujifilm are the pancakes from Voigtlander. Absolutely incredible, and they're chipped so they communicate with the camera allowing for EXIF data and automatic zoom in when focusing (if desired). Thanks for the review though, I've been looking for a super compact 50mm for Fuji and this seems like a good option.

What was your experience with that lens? I’ve heard mixed reviews, especially with focusing and letting in too much light.

I use focus peaking and focus magnifier. The images are sharp on the camera display, but the end result is still a bit blurry.

After a while, it gets very tiring and tedious lugging a camera everywhere….unless its a genuinely small compact camera the size of Sony RX100 thats genuinely pocketable in every culture’s clothing. I use my iP14ProMax interchangeably with my XE4 for street shooting. When i need a wide angle shot, i will use various apps within my phone for that soft, retro analogue film look. But if the image needs a “camera look”, then i will use my compact Fujinon 35mm f2 + XE4 body.

I’m really split between buying this lens and the 35mm f1.8 af. I already use the 25mm f2 on an XE-2, so happy with mf and af, just looking for something to compliment the 25mm. Any recommendations?

kind of a shame they have discontinued this line. i kind of get it with the x100 and xt series being so close, but the xe4 has just kind of given me the best of both worlds. not that i need to upgrade from my xe4 anyway but its sad to think in the future if i should ever break my xe4 there will be nothing to upgrade to. probably go to an a7c or something similar at that point

The X-E4 is where Fuji should have taken their efforts. An interchangeable lens camera the size of their x100 series cameras. If the x100vi was interchangeable, I'd agree with the hype and pay over MSRP for it. The X-T5 is amazing too (didn't want to leave that out).

Quick question, how did you get the camera to register your aperture? When I have this lens on my xe3 I get the F0 error, as in no aperture. Nice video and photos btw

You edit the image in the camera or use it to edit the image.

How do you set the picture?

I used it on my Zf and I just keep it on F5.6 and infinity focus. Anything within 10 yards is sharp and I don't need to mess with the focus dial.

i see a lot of videos comment on the minimalist approach on x-e4, I'm sure fujifilm guys did this for a reason, maybe to look more like leica m11.. google it, pretty similar eh?

Can’t wait for the downfall of overhyped over value used fujifilm cameras. Will snag one up when the hypes gone and peoples moved on paying double msrp for a used old camera 😂

This lens is waaaay too sharp than i expected. I mean.. my 16-55 didn't win it at any aperture from center to corner from my brick wall tests and also landscape shoots.

Hello from across the creek in New Jersey! Nice shots of Philly on your iPhone! I shoot both with the iPhone 13 Pro as well as the Canon EOD 100D. Although the Canon has the larger sensor and all the other options a smartphone may not have, I find I’m shooting more with the iPhone. Most of my days are in situations that my Canon cannot always be in and the iPhone is the best camera I have with me. Thanks for sharing!

I got my X E3 brand new with the Kit lens for around $800, at first i wasnt happy, but the more I used it It grew on me. When the E4 came out I kept my E3, love this thing.

Are you filming by yourself? ..or with an "assistant "?...I suppose you had used a tripod for your Canon EOS..I am really curious about your practice. Your youtube channel is really nice and you english is clear, very appreciated to the non English-speaking that I am.
