Yo - hell yea, I find my self often switching stances when sparring, never thought of this. Thanks!
Oh yeah it works in reverse too if you're in right handed stance
Thank you so much for this review!! I have been using Fairtex’s SP8 I believe the model with the detachable foot guard and left them at my gym and think some guy with the same ones took them accidentally think they were his. I loved those shin guards and had them for around 7 years. So I decided to take it as an opportunity to try out another brand, one iv been wanting to try for years but because of the price, never did. So when these came last night, I was actually very disappointed initially. I ordered the T3 LX crimson in small and was like “ There flat?! Why are they flat?! Why are they so soft and lacking of any forum of solidity?” I tried them on the heavy bag to break them in but it’s not the same. Was about to actually return them until watching your review and specifically this one comparing Top King with Hayabusa. Those top kings are fucking sick btw. You restored my confidence to at least try them out sparring with an open mind.
I like sleek compact shin guards and only need enough padding to take the sharpness off my kicks when sparring but I'm not worried about feeling some of the contact from checking kicks or having my kicks checked. As far as them being flat goes, just pull the velcro straps until they wrap around your shin and they won't be flat anymore, at least not while you're wearing them.
👍💪🥊
Thanks for your support
Out of the shinguards you own what is the lightest? And what one stays in place/ on the best during mma training sessions
I will answer all of these questions over the next few videos comparing the models I do have
0:13 new favorite kick unlocked
😂
Thanks for the vidéo man, i am 18 and I will probably use these hands wrap style for the rest of my life it's the first time for me learning how to wrap correctly 😂 + When will you post a video showing us the Hayabusa T3 Striking Shin Guards and the Primo shinguard review ? I am still wondering wich one of them is the best for MMA/Muaythai Is the Hayabusa T3 Striking Shin Guards as good as the primo one when it comes to wearing a knee pad ? Thanks Coach Wingo - Fernando Torres.
I'll probably do that video next
I've got a pair of the HMIT Mex Sparring in velcro and they are very nice. Like you said it took some breaking in but so far at that price I think they eliminated the need for me to buy another pair of Reyes. Combat corner makes very nice stuff. The Cream TJ1's are WOW!
That combat corner shin guard is the only one that fits my big calves and not be razor tight.
I like how compact and sleek they are. With it having the 4 strap velcro system I can see why a person with larger calves would like that better.
Update, I was wrong about them being made out of leather. They are made out of a synthetic as a just found out after talking with Primo via What's App. Sorry for the confusion on that. It didn't say on the website or the shinguard. The smell of it made me think it was leather.
Glad to see another review!
Thanks for the support John
damn he ate that headkick
Yeah he did, that's Brendan. He is one of my students and tough as nails
I wrap the exact same way except for the looping around the fingers part. I'll have to give that a try
Yeah I think I'm the only person I know that does it that way. It feels better in my opinion
I want those 1V1 gloves but can’t decide which ounce I should get them in. I want them for bag work and will use my FLY 16 oz gloves as sparring gloves.
If you're not going to spar in them I would go with 12 or 10 ounces
Drills looking good coach

Hi Wingo, short question cause I’m a bit confused, you’ve mentioned in every review of the Primos that they are leather but on every website including their website it says they’re semi-leather and the genuine leather patch as it usually stays on every leather product isn’t visible on them, so my question are they genuine leather? I have the TKB’s and ordered the SGL10 cause I want something lighter and I thought about the Primo too in case the SGL’s are not fitting well, I have short and thick legs. Thanks for the reviews!
Neither the website or the Shinguards say if they are leather, semi leather or synthetic. They feel like leather and smell like leather though.
Thank you!
Hey Wingo, thanks for the comparison. Both of these look promising. Random question, out of all the shinguards you've tried, which few had the longest toe/foot covering? I know you're supposed to kick and land with your shin but I have a size 17 foot and accidents happen and I'd rather be safe than sorry 😅
The Hayabusa T3. The Fly Spectre Shinguards that I have also have a longer wider foot covering as well but I have the discontinued 1.0. They changed it up and sell a different model the 2.0 now and the pair I have are not available anymore. Hopefully they will be available again in the future
@@wingoreviewsboxingandmma3667 Looks like it's the T3's for me, thanks Wingo. Always look forward to your videos, keep it up!
What is your height and the size of the shin guards (S/M/L)? Also what is your shoe size in order to know if they will also cover my toes?
I walk around at 140 pounds and I'm 5'5 these are size small, I wear a size 9 shoe
@@wingoreviewsboxingandmma3667 Perfect thanks, that sold me on getting a pair. I've been looking for shin guards that cover my toes. Plus it has side knee protection.
Isnt winning using synthetic leather?
Only the headgear and groin protector, the gloves are leather
NICE!
do you think top king or twins shin guard?
I made that video already, go check it out
Now that sometime has gone by which do you like best primo/hayabusa t3/fly shinguards?
I like you alot my friend.
Thank you for the support my friend
23.5 inch head not sure if i should get large or medium. All my larges fit perfect like adidas and my old winnings at medium FIT but way too small vision wise. Cleto reyes medium fits perfect. The only reason im debating medium is because of the Reyes and everyone says these are sized up and bigger than normal.
Go with large 22.5 is the max for medium and that's my head size
@@wingoreviewsboxingandmma3667 thanks man. Love the review!
sanabul gold strike shin guard pls
what size did you get and how tall are you for comparison
Small I'm 5'5
hi wingo, I'm writing to you from Italy, I have a problem with my phenom, during sessions where I sweat a lot the helmet doesn't stay secure and moves, ruining my sparring. I know that a new microfibre model has been made, do you think it can solve this problem? Is the internal material of the winning the same as the phenom? Grazie mille
the new one is on the market yet ?
🔥 I’m from the Netherlands
That compliment coming from a Dutch man means a lot. You guys are the best in the world at kickboxing
Nice shorts
Thanks, I got them from Combat Corner
@@wingoreviewsboxingandmma3667 cool. I just ordered my shin guards. I’m 5’9” but I measured my shins and I could’ve chose small or medium according to their size chart. I went with the small
Hey I’m around 5’10 do u think a medium would be adequate or should I go large
Not sure, measure your shin from able to the knee abs check their sizing chart.
How it effect your side vision ? I was a bit surprised, that I had a better vision in the nose bar headgear rather than in this one
I did not find that to be the case. The bar does have great vision but I was able to see more in the cheek protector headguard
@@wingoreviewsboxingandmma3667 then that is just me 😅 I have even spared once in it and for me the vision was better in their facebar version , so kept their it :)
Have you tried any combat corner shinguards and do you think the top kings perform better in any way?
Yeah, I sell it to my students. It's good gear. They have a wider range of training gear. It would depend on what model
@@wingoreviewsboxingandmma3667 good to know and finally what are your thoughts on how SP5 Fairtex compare?
do you like the phenom better or the fly superbar x?
I personally like the Phenom better
Since you mentioned knee pads. What type/ brand do you use?
Combat Corner, but I'm thinking about trying a new brand out soon
Interesting... I like the simplicity & lightweight aspect. Have you weighed them on a scale? They might be my next fight gear purchase. For reference, what's your shin length? I'm 5' 7.5" with shorter legs. I'm currently using Danger 'Supermax' shin guards in size medium & they're a decent fit. Also... whats the discount code? 😂
Check their size chart, but I'm assuming small or medium would both work at your size as your a a couple inches taller than I am. You get the 10 percent discount code from them when you go to their online store. You give them your email and they send you the discount code via email.
Thanks for your support as well
You The best✌🏻✌🏻✌🏻✌🏻✌🏻
Thank you, I appreciate your support
Thanks for the review! I’m between the Hayabusa shin guards and these Primo, which would you recommend? In some videos, it looks like the Primo ones fit a bit more snugly to the calf. On the other hand, I like the knee protection on the Hayabusa…
I'll be releasing a video comparing the 2 very soon
Very cool thanks. I really appreciate you taking the time to do these reviews, it means a lot to us people who live in countries with a very basic selection of Muay Thai gear!
FINALLY I BEEN WAITING FOR A REVIEW ON THESE i have the infight style shinguards so similar but wondering if there was any difference thanks!!!!
You're welcome. I try to find items that no one has reviewed yet and of course the luxury training gear as well
Thanks, man! Your and csquaredboxing's review were the main reasons I decided on the Phenom. Can't wait for it to arrive. 🥊
You won't be disappointed, it's a great head great
What size did you get brother ?
Small
Ever thought about getting the Isami shinguards?
Yeah but I don't like how the straps on them look wrapping all the way around the way they do. But I do want to get their mma training gloves
Good review. How tall are you? I normally fall in between small and medium @5foot 4. These look well fitted to you.
5'5" go with a size small
Great review as usual, Are these lighter or heavier than the twins or the Fly’s?
They are the lightest of the 3 I think. Fly wild be the heaviest out of the 3
@@wingoreviewsboxingandmma3667 Those Fly shin pads you recommended that I get are still probably some of the toughest shin pads I have
Just got this headgear for my birthday (in green)!! Once I saw an mma fat glove wouldn’t fit, I wanted it. The price is great and the protection looks phenomenal, can’t wait! Thanks for the dope review vid!👍🏼
You're welcome, thank you for your support
My head is 22.5 should I get the medium or large seeing as how it falls in between both sizes ?
I have the and size head and went with the medium. But I'm not sure how the large would have fit but I'm assuming a little large because medium fits me perfectly
Worth it to get in 8-10oz for pad and bag work or are there better options for that size glove out there? Main training for me is boxing/muay Thai.
Unless you get the Ark version the custom American made now run at 900. They are worth it, but it depends on your budget and what you're willing to spend. They were 700 a couple years ago when I bought them.
@@wingoreviewsboxingandmma3667 have you tried the Ark glove? I heard it basically the same except cheaper leather would that make a good pad/bag work glove?
hell yeah brother thanks for the review! I got the same exact hayabusa's but wanted to change it up and get the top king's. what size are you wearing?
Small. I'm 5'5" 140 pounds lol
I'm also about to drop a review on the Primo Fight Wear Shin Guards
@@wingoreviewsboxingandmma3667 Oh bet. I’m 6’1 170 but im not exactly massive in size lol im pretty skinny so i may have to get a medium
@@wingoreviewsboxingandmma3667 kk ill keep a look out and maybe cancel the top kings order til then
For 90 kg and 187 cm, do you think L or Xl topking should be from twins, L is good
Thanks for review
No problem Bro.
How were they compared to your TopKings shin Guard?
I'll release the review soon. Within a week. I'm going to compare them with the Top Kings soon as well
@@wingoreviewsboxingandmma3667 I see it's cause I was looking to make a purchase soon and was looking literally looking into TopKing and Primo. Primo has a cleaner look but I'm wondering how the quality of the padding is absorbing hits compared to TopKing.
Compared to the SGL10?
I get crazy good pop out of the fly 16oz. Mit work sound like gunshots and I’ve accidentally dropped a few sparring partners off jabs lol I can’t help but ask if they’re okay/say sorry everytime I land a clean shot with these nice compact firm gloves.
Sounds like you have some power in your jab. I find mine to be the perfect balance of padding. But I have noticed through reviews and what other people say that it seems as though the Fly X Line isn't very consistent on the padding density
