I currently neither play nor collect Pokémon, but i was interested because I've been into MtG my whole life - stumbled upon this series by chance and it is the best Pokémon tcg content I've seen so far, especially for me since I care for the gameplay, not the blinged out pulls.

my roommate and i just got into learning how to play and we managed to make decks out of shrouded fables etbs. now theyre not gonna win anything outside of kitchen table games but it was a fun intro into deck building for the tcg!

Unfortunately you cant fail the Valiant evolution becuase the text doesnt say May. Since you swapped the Finizen to the bench you have to evolve it into Palafin.

I cannot stress enough how good these videos have been as a gateway into pokemon tcg its such an intimidating hobby especially if you are like me and don't like to lose lol, the game has been around for so long the skill ceiling is soo high that watching you guys go through the entire era breaking down meta cards of each set has been sooo interesting! I've been collecting since early this year and will be taking the jump into casual tcg matches soon thanks to you guys! please keep the series coming I seen the newest episode came out 1 day ago so i will be going straight to that episode right after this!

In Game 1, wouldn't Azul be forced to evolve Finizen into Palafin based on the attack text? Valiant Evolution sounds like you don't have the option to not resolve the effect if you have the card in your deck?
