I just subbed to this channel. So many Dr S episodes. How could I not :-)
Wow, this is exactly what I was looking for. I did a chronic zero carb, low energy availability diet for months and my thyroid and test went very low. Even after 8 months of being hypo caloric my levels didn't restore so I just started thyroid replacement therapy. What other hormonal processes have likely been affected by what I did? Do you recommend looking into TRT to restore quality of life or have you seen thyroid replacement alone to be sufficient. Thanks for the info!

There is a large scale at my work and i use is first thing when i get there and when i leave. i can swing 5-7 lbs over night and loose up to 10lbs per day at work water weight can really be demotivating but just wright it down and take a weekly average. how much the scale says is erroneous what you look like is everything. i am down from 390lbs just hit 198.1 started trt and the gym 5 months ago feeling great and looking much better even when the number goes up

This is one of my favorite topics! I use to be a nurse assistant and did elder care. Muscle mass and strength matter not just for longevity but are critical for better survivability of severe illness, quality of life, and being able to stay independent as long as possible. Sarcopenia and dynopenia are no joke and wish this was better addressed by the medical community.
I agree, but as long as we all keep talking and educating along with sharing, we are doing our part to turn the tide!
