Hey man what size are those bearings? Mine came apart on the road and I need some new ones
Do you have the link for the chain tensioner
@DavidMartinez-uz2vf it was custom made by an engineer out west. There were 3 in existence.
This is the cleanest, meanest bt200x I've ever seen
@Tumb0_33 it looks even better now.
Why do you have the stock carb? Have you tried a mikuni or chinese cloan? Just curious
@modernmountaineer I've tried many slide carbs. I've had to tune many of them and it gets old. It's easier to run stock style carbs that all use the same style jets. I have 3 carbs that look stock but are machined for higher performance. No fuel pumps required either which is nice.
Fatbuddycat I was wondering where you have been. I have missed your videos
@@albertpeterson7134 I'm working 60+ hours a week and driving 2 hours a day, 6 days a week. I literally can't get any free time
Is the is that a modified Hisun 196??
@@Tumb0_33 sure is. I have a few. They haul plenty of butt if you build them correctly.
@@fatbuddycat I plan on doing so..I am about to buy a used bt200x and figure I would be better off building out the 196 plus it'll give me some experience with these engines
@fatbuddycat why do you think you are getting no top end? Is it the gear ratio? I want to do the same exact thing you are doing but make it more of a street bike as opposed to trail
@Tumb0_33 I'm running a Dynocams CS 265. It has added lift with less duration to promote a constant torque curve. To get more top end, I'd recommend the Dynocams CM 265 (aka The Super X). Same lift but more duration. Duration holds the valves open longer, which allows more fuel/air in and exhaust out.
@@fatbuddycat thank you man I'm sure I'll have some more questions as I go..I appreciate it 🙏🏻
Are these the stock forks?
@Tumb0_33 yup, just removed the fender and light.
I just checked mine a few minutes ago. I have 2.2mm from valves to piston. Is that good?

What kind of handlebars are those?
@Tumb0_33 depends, one bike ended up some knockoffs and the other had the ProTaper Raptor SE.
@@fatbuddycatsorry I was referring to the black bike...what about the plastics on the black one?? Did you cut them yourself?
@Tumb0_33 black bike has Coleman CC100X front fenders mounted at both ends. I ever so slightly bent the BT200X fender tabs and had to drill a couple holes (extremely easy to do). After I had the holes, I added thick rubber washers to shim them so they looked perfect. Those are genuine ProTaper Raptor handlebars with about an inch trimmed off each end so they don't stick out like doofy looking bull horns..... a lot of people purchase aftermarket handlebars and they skip the trimming process which looks terrible.
@@Tumb0_33 you should see the black one now! 😆 it's got one of those fancy $250 gas tanks that fit in the frame and some better tires.
Hey man I see your adds on FB marketplace all the time. I was wondering if you build engines for people ? I have a Baja warrior 200 I’m hoping to throw a nice performance built motor in. Would be willing to pay whatever you charge 🙏🏼
Personally, I love my Metro. I live in the panhandle of Texas, where the 3/4 ton Super Duty pickup truck is king. So taking scooters down dirt roads isn't recommended. The Metro isn't really an enduro bike. So don't be disappointed if it doesn't perform flawlessly on rutted out logging roads like you were traversing. It's mainly designed for pavement use in the city. Highway use isn't recommended because it can't get up to highway speeds. Without significant modifications to the engine, the best you can hope for is 40 mph tops. Rolling Wrench in Denver offers an 85cc upgrade kit for the older Metropolitans. But nothing lately for the newer models.
How's it holding up for you?
@ohdirtracer great so far. I made a few minor modifications but mostly just higher quality factory upgrades. It now has 19 inch Kenda Scorpion Tires, a DID Chain, Comet Driver, a Ducar 212 with the governor removed and a 5250rpm limited coil installed, I switched the headlight to battery power with a switch, moved the rear top shock mount forward to raise the rear to be more level.....oh and I added a Coleman tank bag on top of the frame in front of the seat.
Builtwell grips as well!
What size tires/rims are those...looks sweet bro love the style
@Tumb0_33 19 inch tires on stock Ct200ex rims. The tires are Kawasaki Bayou fronts off Amazon.
@@fatbuddycatstock forks to?
@Tumb0_33 yup.
Looks good. I use car muffler rubber hangers from the Auto parts store.
@jakedrew7365 if I did it again, I'd do something similar.

@matthewcarrillo8551 it's a great bike. I really enjoy riding it when I get home from work. I
I'm doing this build right now as I speak, and man this clearancing SUX! The bottom of the cylinder is where I'm having the worst time. I don't know how far up in there I can go. I guess it doesn't matter the rod just has to clear. Thanks for the video, it helps tremendously with my confidence with this clearancing!
@chrisare187Racing you're welcome! I'm just an average guy with a little bit of mechanical knowledge. If someone else can do something, I believe I can accomplish it as well. We get knocked down by others enough throughout our lives, I like to be the guy that won't let people down.
Sweet little bike! Is the powered by a Lifan motor?
@BangForYourBuckRc yup! it's just a 125cc 4spd Lifan clone. It probably goes about 45 and has been quite reliable so far. When and if it ever fails, I'll likely replace it with an actual Lifan or something better.
Wish u can do a vid how to hook up a horn from a usb battery pack great vid tho 💪🏼💯💨💨💨

My father and I have watched this entire series laughing out loud multiple times. @ktownc936 Thanks! I'll make some more this winter, I've been super busy at a new job this year. I try to keep it about the projects and helping others. A lot of dudes get caught up in the whole social media thing and think they are famous. They ask for subscribers and say silly stuff like "remember to smash the like button". I'm not with that mindset, I keep it exclusive like everyone's weird, distant uncle that is good at fixing stuff.
Trying to find the best rod piston combo for my duromax nr racing is trying to get me to use a + 20 over rod and flat top piston because the stock piston has a bigger wrist pin diameter so I gotta switch it up im thinking if I should port th e end now or wait till I break it in GREAT vid btw 💪🏼💯💨💨💨💨
@SoLoCruizer I port heads on brand new engines and used ones. I don't think you have to temper cast aluminum and as far as steel, the seats are pressed in so they ain't giving any sorta s**t. Going. 020 over is a give and take. If the flat top piston they are suggesting sits lower than stock, it will gain compression without taking too much away from the quench and draw. When the piston goes down, it drags fuel and air with it. The higher the piston sits as it gets closer to the deck (top of cylinder), the less it can pull down and force up.
@fatbuddycat sooooo what do u think is the best piston with billet rod combo my man ?
@fatbuddycat omb warehouse sucks when returning stuff taking 5 days it says my return was delivered i was gonna buy another arc rod from there not now I'll go to ec carbs or Dynocams i returned stuff they never made me wait this long to refund my money
@SoLoCruizer delivered and processed are two different things. I ordered the wrong rod for a 224 block and bought the correct one the same day, the new rod showed up before the one I sent out got to PA. I knew the return would go through eventually, I don't sweat it when it comes to the team at omb.
@fatbuddycat yea I guess it's a learning process I just figured the grey goat would have hooked me up i asked him what's the best rod for the 208 duromax instead of telling me there is no billet rod for the wrist pin and the 3.003 isn't the best rod for the simple fact I'm not getting the most room I need out the block therefore it is not the best rod the wrist pin on the duro is too big I could just got it machined down but then I'm not getting the most out this block I gotta find a cam too and I. Seeing this new dLC coated cranks out now what you think about that FBC I gotta just get the best combo so I can save the life on this poor ducar it's starting to make new noises could be the clutch can we swap out the guts on the 14 tooth max torques like can I throw the guts from my 10 tooth in the 14 tooth bell housing type deal or do I just toss them out
Would this work on a doodlebug baja db30 97cc
@Joes66gto I believe so. It sucks on the mm80 because you lose the gas tank and the exhaust fits like turd.
Hey man love your videos! I have a RSV as well. I did the first clean/ lube of the front drive of the CVT. Now my bike is lagging and not engaging the belt like before. Any advice? Please and thank you.
@@nicholascoombs5122 what did you use to clean it and lube with?
Im trying to align my chain up. The washer trick is setting washers on the plate beside the sproket ? Ive never put a torque converter and it looks like my torque converter sproket has to move away from the plate to line up with the sproket on my back wheel
@ktownc936 what bike do you have? There are a lot of different installations.
@@fatbuddycat I'm trying to fit a bravex 30 series torque converter onto a powerfist 212(Canadian predator Clone) on a bt200x. I may need to drill new engine mount holes in the plate on the frame because if I start to bump out the sprocket in the TC the nylon nut has nothing to screw onto. The other issue now is the provided front pulley bolt thread is course while the power fist engine requires a fine thread. Do 212 predators run that bolt course or?
@ktownc936 for my BT200X, I used an adapter and a 54t Azusa steel ring with a few shims to move my wheel sprocket inward.
@@ktownc936 did you cut off the metal piece in front of the rear wheel or use an engine plate?
@@fatbuddycat I used an engine plate to avoid cutting the chain guard mount. The new engine I installed is a 212 predator Clone. It's 3/4 so I didn't need an adapter. I think I have to move the engine, which sucks cause I was trying to keep the frame stock. My only issue is the bolt fine vs course mentioned above and the bigger issue my tc sprocket needs to move away from the TC mounting plate by the size of the spacer they gave me for the front pulley. The problem is there's no thread left over on the back pulley if I were to do so. So I think I have to move the engine over. Does the predator run course threads on the drive shaft? My power fist 212 has fine threads and the bravex torque converter kit only came with a coarse Bolt.
Im running a hemi head on a 236 stroker engine. 58mm crank, 6270 billet rod, 72mm flat top ceramic coated piston, titanium lifters, 6mm aluminum fat rods, 320 brown box cam, 29/26 hardened stainless steel valves, 37/50 dual spring valve springs, 1.2 roller rockers, 10,000 rpm coil, billet flywheel, NGK plug, amr300 supercharger, 6 sigma nitrous kit. My mechanic says my valves and piston should have around .040 with a head gasket. But he also said to measure without the head gasket first. Use play-doh to get my results. He said if it doesn't clear, then I'd have to shave some off my piston. I'm using this engine for drag racing use
@markharris1473 I've heard of piston shaving, I've yet to do it but I like the concept.
@fatbuddycat well I'm hoping I don't have to shave it. Plus it's ceramic coated too. Not sure if that would suit me or not. I'd prefer not to cut it, but if I have to I'll just buy a flat top piston with the 2 relief valve imprints on the piston
@fatbuddycat I'm really hoping to get this engine done soon. Been working on it forever seems like. I was gonna put it on a mini bike, but I also have an older John Deere XL175 mower frame I also want to put it on. Build up either a dragster mower, or a bad ass little pulling mower for the small tractor pulls we have next door
@markharris1473 I still haven't finished a 224 I started like a year ago. Just need Pushrods and something simple to put it on.

I was interested until I seen the belt drive. What a bummer. Those rob a ton of low end power.
@poorboytrucking1 not really. The jackshaft on most Chinese mini bikes are junk. A torque converter will get a smoother take off, better acceleration and a higher top speed. Torque Converters provide all the low end power a mini bike needs.
Would the spacer u put one first be bad for it
@NathanCoomer-g4k I dunno. I ran it like that for a while with a pretty well built 196 and didn't have any issues.
Hey buddy Cat! Love this build and have a question for you. Nice
So ill start by saying good content, and these little torque converters are fun to play with! Now for my windy theories. I have only experimented with the stock driver and driven. I find that for applications that are geared to go 30 mph or less at a governed rpm of roughly 3600, the green or red springs suffice the best. I try to picture the thoughts the manufacturers had when designing these things. If your going from a centrifical clutch setup, to a cvt, you might not want the full low end capabilities of the torque converter. I look at #1 position as half wind, #2 position 3/4 wind, and #3 position as full wind. Anymore than that risks damaging the secondary, especially with the yellow spring. So i would automatically go with tension #3 with the green or red spring with a setup geared exactly at 30mph. Now lets say you have a 50/10 sprocket ratio with a 19 inch tire. Geared to go well over 40mph. The yellow spring will definitely benefit. Ive gone back and forth between the 2nd and 3rd hole. It honestly depends if im offroading more, or trying to hit max speed. Green or red springs shift out too quick and slow me down with the higher gearing. Ive also tried the gold compression only spring. Very debatable if that one took the cake with the taller gearing. If you've never tried the gold spring, I'd give it a go for good times sake, lol. EDIT: Also need to add, I was using a stock weight and spring assembly, true comet, in the driver clutch. I find that the Chinese clutch driver weights usually weigh a little less, and have undesirable effects (too much rpm with stock engines.) Having also toyed with many snowmobile clutches, I find if the secondary spring tension is too light for either the gearing and/or hp levels of the engine, the secondary will overshift, and that will destroy belts very quickly. So using that knowledge, know that more power and more gear absolutely needs more spring pressure (and or different helix ramps, but that's really not possible to tailor on the series 30.) Enjoy, hopefully something useful can be plucked from that, lol.
@CK-mf6du I noticed on some pulleys too that it is more difficult to set the springs. I can usually get a yellow in the center hole but I've come across a couple that it was so difficult I gave up because there was no way it was gonna end well.
@@fatbuddycat that is exactly right. I call it double winding. I honestly don't believe comet wanted them set like that. I believe number 3, max tension, is the only setting that should be preloaded slightly. First and second are half and 3/4 wind, not quite full preload. Ive seen people "double wind" the green spring on hole #3. It will ultimately start popping the spring out of the hole, because too much tension. You already see the yellow spring is near impossible to install like that. Wouldn't be good if could..
@@fatbuddycat the spring coils too tight when set like that, and will make contact with the bushing. It will destroy the bushing and your clutch if you manage to double wind the yellow spring in hole #3
@@fatbuddycat honestly I don't think many people realize this, but it makes sense if your putting one of these torque converters on a minibike that only goes 15 mph or so with the gearing. If the secondary was fully preloaded, take-off would be pretty gnarly for the little folks. Hence not full preload on 1 or 2 setting. Only 3.
@@CK-mf6du my BT200X rips with a yellow in #2, it's a 7500 rpm 196 that probably maxes 50. I'm running a Torkzilla and 10/54 on the sprockets.
Scooters are some of the most practical means of transportation in terms of maintenance, parking, insurance, repairs, and operating costs. It the way of the future for America at its current pace. I rock the Ruckus, but Metropolitan seems like a great ride as well. They do share the same reliable platform, which is a huge selling point for me (reliability... operating costs). I have had over 40 motorcycles... sportbikes, harleys, maxi-scooters and my Ruckus is my favorite by far in terms of practicality and enjoyment. I have traded out of the Ruckus multiple times (wanting something faster), just to regret it and go right back to it and accept its limitations.
@janvandermark2747 I have some videos of ct70 clone on here too. I ride that little 125 more than my motorcycle. We need to go back to Geos, Toyota and Hondas of 90s. The car manufacturers took it all off the market and worked on screwing us with crap nobody can afford to pay cash for or maintain. They called a lot of cars unsafe that were just fine if they stopped making other vehicles so much bigger. It's all a setup that I don't fall for. I believe in scooters and smaller displacements, it is a far better option than going electric. Problem is, if we collectively own cheap vehicles and don't use as much fuel, then certain pieces of s**t out there don't get as wealthy off of us.....plus we wouldn't have to work and produce as many taxes......same exact thing happened to our housing market.

The illusion of having, but gaining nothing. Spending what we don't have so we can get through the moment with no plans for a future... any who lol. One day at a time.

Fell asleep bro. Video is so long but I appreciate it
@dallassalinasboxeo2305 some of them are better to listen to in the background while you're working on a project. Sorry about that, I hope the nap was awesome though!!
Dude I’ve been putting my engine back together and I forgot where a couple things went😂 you saved my butt
@wraithjrsnacky7742 that is exactly why I'm so thorough with my presentations. Glad it helped!
Are these still available? I can’t find them on the OMB site!
I would love to see how much difference there is in weight between the stock rim and tire and this aftermarket rim and tire once you have to add all the spacers and extra nuts and bolts and all the adapters I wonder what the actual weight difference is
@jamesmower1852 it's all in the wheels and tires. The hub adapters and sprocket are pretty lightweight. I used very light spacers for my axle as well. I did go with a heavier axle. It handled much better then stock, the gx160 with a torque converter handled it no sweat. The rest of the bike is stupid light. Could I have used something different.....sure but screw it. It was a sweat mini bike.
Your valves are making a ton of noise.
@-_-OB1 factory spec. This thing starts easy and runs like a top. Typically I lash tight at .0015 exhaust and intake. I haven't touched these yet. With the correct steps the governor can be removed without touching the valves.
