    Hello Jose, thank you for video, this is very interesting and motivating video for me. 👍 This is good start and visualisation for practical woodworking. You have mentioned just shortly the second step: Finally I would like to have some cutting drawing of every part with dimmensioning.. According your experience, what would be the best solution? So model has to have individual parts (not grouping objects), export these parts to another file, or create copy of this file to new one and then disassembly and display dimensions? All design and construction I would like to make in pc, then print it and start cutting, drilling. Also I would like to know, how many wood I will need. I know, this can not be (yet) ☺️ automatically generated, but I could be satisfied, if I could disassembly the final model and prepare construction sheet - cutting, drilling - and avoid this way some basic faults, which save wood (money).. 😉. Also I do not know, how to change parameters afterwards, ok, this is not parametrical CAD, but you saw it is possible to do some snapshots, etc. This is possible some basics, which I can found on some initial videos.. Thank you.

    Really liking this tutorial. I notice Plasticity uses a lot of Blender shortcuts so I tried holding CTRL+ALT when selecting the small edges on slider to fillet and it selected all the edge rings (corners) at once, just like Blender.

      It’s complicated! Because trees and flowers often need more organic shapes and even sculpting, but if you want to give it a try, I would go for some geometric exploration.

  • @jaimeortega8939

    Thank you for the tutorial. That meshing is far from following best topology practices, though. Giving that it's a how to export tutorial I think that's important to point that out. Don't know if Plasticity is even robust enough for that, though? What I see is good for a quick back-and-forth with a client but giving that model actual use would be hell.

    • @josetzurita
      @josetzurita 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Agree with you! I wouldn’t say it’s just good to go back and forth with the client. In my case, I texture the models and upload them to my portfolio. “CAD Software for artists”… it’s definitely great to get a quick and good enough quality sketch/product without much effort! Hopefully you gave it a try!

    Great tutorial! I learned a lot and am loving Plasticity. Annoyingly, the word "fillet" when used in a manufacturing or engineering context is pronounced "fill it" instead of "fill ay" like when it's used in a food context.

    I use modeling in Rhino every day for work. This software is like a "sketch-y" version of Rhino because of its reliance on boolean operations, which I love. The devs for Rhino should pay attention to this workflow, especially the non-destructive Fillets.

      Just a quick tip for anyone reading - select an object and hit the M key to add/edit a material, hit ok and you'll see a color circle appear next to it's name in the object list on left side of the screen. If you want to change an object's material, without changing the material for other items that have that same material, hit Alt+M to remove the material from the selected object.
