Gaggia Cadorna Prestige faulty carafe?
My newly bought Gaggia Cadorna Prestige seems to only dispense 2/3 of liquid from the carafe. I'm using water instead of milk here, just to make the test simpler (and cheaper!), but the issue happens with normal milk as well. Is this a faulty carafe or is this normal on these machines?

Gaggia Cadorna Prestige faulty carafe? (part 2)

My newly bought Gaggia Cadorna Prestige seems to be way off when dispensing milk from the carafe. After doing a video using water, Gaggia's tech support asked me to use milk instead. Is this a faulty carafe or something wrong with the machine?
What are you showing in this video? There is no narration. Are you showing how it should work?
does your machine work well to this day?
Yes all working perfectly. I make sure I always do the recommended upkeep, i.e., weekly clean of everything, including the brew group and all of that. So far no complains.
i'm in the same trouble too. how did you get in touch with support?
I got in touch with the authorised retailer I bought from, they sent me a new carafe and it worked fine. I’m in the UK, not sure where you are but try and contact the retailer you purchased from.
Hi, after you replaced the carafe, does the machine still make this “hammer” noise before and while dispensing the milk? Mine does too and I wonder if it is faulty.
hi yes same thing here, it does make some noise pumping the thing
Same issue...Milk carafe faulty and no help from wholelatte love
Try to have them send you a new carafe, that fixed it for me. For some reason it seems there’s some carafes that are faulty.
Did you find a solution to this? Mine is doing the same thing.
We also have a problem.... From time to time is does not "produce" Milk before 1/3 of the cycle is done. Instead it is just spewing hot steam/water
Hi did u find a solution? Mine doing the same
@@randl2000 Probably not as this seems to be the issue of a poorly designed carafe structure. I use cleaning tablets every week to keep on going somehow but the problem seems to be permanent. Replacing carafe might not solve the problem either and it costs 50 to 100 euros. The only thing I would suggest is to never disassemble the carafe but instead use the tablets to clean the carafe internals. Disassembling it seems to "kill it" after a couple of months somehow.
They now recommend just running milk cleaner through it and no disassembly
Hi - I'm thinking of the Cadorna Prestige and outside of your current carafe issue, how well does the machine brew a cup of espresso? .. one of my hesitations is the automatic machine will not be able to extract the full flavor profile. Any thoughts on this would be helpful. Thank You!
Hi, it brews a damn fine cup of espresso for sure. I love espresso but I am not a fine coffee/espresso connoisseur, same as I can appreciate a very good wine but I just don't have the vocabulary to finely evaluate the subtle differences of the top range. This rivals or even betters the best Nespresso machine, that is for sure. The grind settings range from 1-10 (more fine to more coarse) and then you have 5 settings for coffee quantity, coffee temperature, etc. It's a very good espresso and coffee machine overall, although I would imagine barista like machines which are more manual would allow you more fine control of the various stages of the process.
@@ninseineon Thank you, very helpful!
let me know if you ever figured it out with tech support! I'm thinking of buying one but this and some other issues are making me hesitant now.
Yes, they offered to have the machine returned for a full refund, but I insisted if we couldn’t try out a new milk carafe. It worked, the new carafe they sent me doesn’t have the issue. This being fixed, the machine is quite good. My only comment is that 1) I would like more granularity on the quantity increments of some beverages (for instance frothed milk comes in 30ml increments, starting at 60, then 90, 120, etc.; and most importantly 2) would be great if I could create and save my own recipes, e.g., I always take a large coffee, followed by 60ml frothed milk, and I have to do those separately - I can’t just program them to one button. But I guess the price range is a fair one for what you get - I’m still happy with it. Hope that helps.
