SSR LAZER Sport 5 This Chinese Moped is better than you think!
Join me for a little walk around and bike check on my 2013 SSR Lazer Sport 5 Moped. It's been engine swapped with a 110cc Manual shifting Pit Bike motor, Enduro rubber, Custom Bars, Exhaust, Luggage, and more. Not many decent or recent videos on these bikes and I think they are really slept on as potential donor chassis for pit bike motors of all sizes.

Greenworks Stealth Minibike- Poaching Urban Dirt and Avoiding All Humans

Some ride footage from yesterday right after some rain. Just having fun plunking around in the local greenbelt and trying to avoid being spotted by any other trail users. The Greenworks Stealth 60v minibike is a lot of fun, and at $1500 retail, it’s still a LOT cheaper than many e-bikes, and delivers more than twice the value (in my opinion) compared to something like a Razor MX650 or similar b...

    I just picked up one today at a Tractor Supply they had them on sale for $500 off. I have rode it around the house a few times. Its been a long time since I have been on a mini bike had one as a teen.. Ive been getting around the property on a small seat type E scooter and wanted something with suspension . I'm trying to figure out how do you know if your in Sports mode does it do anything on the dash?

    • @BakedAndAwakePodcast
      @BakedAndAwakePodcast 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      yeah nope. No indication on the display of each mode unfortunately. That was a great deal you got on yours! We recently picked up our second one and I think we got it for $1200 this time around, so that sale must just have kept getting more aggressive as time went on. Our purchase was in about mid march I think. I’ll tell you this though- Tractor supply sent us home with the wrong 8ah batteries (non pro, no Bluetooth) and since I had to call them and drive back up there to get the right batteries, and I showed them some pics of some fairly glaring assembly issues including a bunch of scratches from someone carelessly jabbing at it with their hand tools 🛠️- the store applied an additional discount of like, I wanna say $230 more off the bike as an apology. Needless to say we were more than satisfied with that form of amends, especially since the bike was functionally fine. Tractor Supply really knows how to keep a loyal customer in this day and age! 🤙🏽

    • @epoweredrc
      @epoweredrc 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@BakedAndAwakePodcast Thanks for the reply yeah as I rode it more and messed with it I figured out there is no indicator on it. They should consider that in the next one they make i hear there coming out with a 80V one.. Now that you mention Bluetooth battery i remember seeing in a video of a Bluetooth indicator on someones battery when they were putting it in. Mine are not Bluetooth I have the LB6081 battery . What does the Bluetooth battery do driffrent? So far I am kinda disappointed in the distance I am getting. I am about 216 pounds but riding around in my yard I am only getting about 4 miles. I went down the gravel road across from my house yesterday I rode a couple miles mostly flat and some downhill and think i got like 7 miles that time. I guess you have to be under 150 weight and on perfectly level ground to get 20 miles out of this thing.

    Our local Tractor Supply has 2 in stock, I'm going to go check them out on my next Honda Shadow Spirit ride. The idea on these is, it beats walking. When I got to go from one end of the farm at night to the other to get a tool out of the shop... it would make that go a lot faster. See if you can dig out the technical specs or part number of the hub motor and/or controller so we can build our own, It's probably a stock Chinese hub motor kit, and I'll edit in the Napolean Dynamite jump scene for you... :-) Maybe with the Bionic Man Jump sound dubbed over it for ultimate epic.

  • @choppergirl

    I was going to do this to a Baja Heat frame I have, this looks like the same kind of solution. They should of located the weight of the battery down low, and then an open at the top storage box with a lid above it. The EGO is $1000, but 2 batteries for it, are another 1000 bucks.. 😕 These companies seem to be falling on their face when it comes to the price of their batteries. I'd prefer to solder up my own. Done it. What are you going to do in 15 years when the batteries and company are no longer around? You don't buy these for kids, you buy them for getting around you farm at night without waking the whole neighborhood up. Really, what I would be interested in is identifying which off the shelf hub motor they are using and what's it rated at. That's going to tell you how much umph it has.

      This one goes up everything I’ve pointed it at no problem. I don’t know if it’s accurate but they do have specs somewhere on their website that says it will peak at 3000w. Sounds like a lot but it’s really just about 42amps draw or so at 60v, so very possible with these batteries and a 1000w nominal motor. I believe it, being as we’ve been riding it around for over six months now and it goes through everything really well.

    Ryobi should expand into kid's stuff. Imagine a power wheels type ride-on that uses ryobi 18v batteries, or a mini bike/dirt bike that uses the 40v batteries. I think they could give Razor bikes, most being 24v or 36v, a run for their money.

    I just got mine a few weeks ago and I'm having an absolute blast with it. I found out that the only thing that the bike needs to be registered as a moped to make it street legal are rear view mirrors. I ordered a set of clamp on ones and now I can ride it through the city strees. I'm working on adding some turn signals so I don't have to use hand signals, and some less aggressive tires so it's a smoother ride on paved roads. I plan on using it to get me to and from work during the spring, summer, and fall. It's an awesome mini bike. Also, what phone mount do you have? I've been looking for one but all the ones on Amazon seem really cheep or extremely expensive.

      Probably the same. I suspect that a lot of Greenworks motors are really just 18/20v because all their batteries including commercial are all within steps where they could just use voltage step downs plus there’s some of their power equipment that literally looks identical across battery lines so there’s no way they’re manufacturing separate voltage motors just for different batteries
