He was absolutely fantastic, bought a record 72 and became hooked
Amen.
JJ never disappoints.
I am 80 and have listened to JJ Cale for years and still do.
I’m 70 and recently listened to JJC for the first time. It’s gratifying to discover talent that escaped me in my youth.
Es un genio🎉
Tijuana...one of my favorites...saw him in Ashville...around this time ...at the now defunct...Music Zone...amazing...more than the show was his talking to a young dread neo hippie and his dog....jj was smoking a cigarette outside his bus ...we were standing in line to go in the venue....the conversation was so priceless...between them ..jj only talked to the boys dog ...so fascinating and to much to mention now
Bless you JJ your music hits my soul ❤
Pure genius I play guitar and singing 40 years
I love this show. I was the Front of House audio engineer for this. I subsequently released an all JJ Cale tribute CD titled Dewey Paul presents CALE (2012), 16 tracks mastered by Vinton Fountain, who was actually the monitor engineer on this show. Just an interesting historical tid bit for you. Although parts of this show were filmed by a German film crew and included in the 'To Tulsa And Back' documentary, the source of this mix was from the front of house soundboard. I remember this because of the fade in on Call Me The Breeze. This happened because the master was direct to a Tascam CDRW-5000 burner patched from the Soundcraft Series IV console. I didn't get the second disc in the burner ready on time and missed the beginning of Breeze... I faded it in after I hit record. -Dew )
That's great, Dewey! You seem to have put everything "up front" in this mix, if this TH-cam upload is your mix. The great "live" mixes always are best served by putting everything "up front". I'm not an engineer. What's great about JJ Cale is that he just did his own thing, he let it rip and wasn't interested in becoming famous. This show sounds great because everything feels "up front" so it captures the essence of a great show. When you are at a great show, every comes at you, sonically, so it makes sense to just shove everything at the listener. God bless the engineers! Rock on JJ, rock on everyone...
You did an outstanding job! Thank you so much!
@@steffenhantschel2016 Thank you!!!

since i found him 3 months ago, i listen every day to him. he is awesome. bobby
I first heard JJ Cale in 1974 in an old van that had the large motor housing in between the front seats, on a road trip to south Illinois😂
Amazing artist, so underrated
Poštovano TH-cam , ne želim da slušam bez snimka UŽIVO ! Gde su video snimci ?
Peace and tranquility

Thanks for posting this great concert! I live in Melbourne Australia and was lucky enough to see JJ live sometime in the 70's, been listening ever since, love the man and his songs, but oh that guitar playing-sublime.RIP JJ.
I'm 54 years old...and i listen Mr. JJ. Cale since 1985 ...i live on a very small island in Indian Ocean...very far from States...and although... You should know ,everybody, that this kind of musician and singer like J.J Cale ,it's completely amazing.a nearly magical artist directly come from Angels Choir musician... I must admit that he has been very longtime the most unknown great guitarist in the world...why????? TOO STRONG FOR HIS TIME TO BE REALLY ENTIRELY UNDERSTOOD...A REAL GENIUS!
I think his records are superior to this lackadasial performance.
Unbelieveable guy and to many people don't know of him. Been hooked ever since buying Okie when it was first released. Time and moves meant I only kept the best 100 of my vinyls Okie is one of them. This live session is fantastic and the recording balance, for a live session, brilliant. God Okie was released 50 years ago and I was 25.
Great quality recording, should have been released as an album.

MUTT, & GEEGEE 4EVR❤❤❤
Been my favorite since I heard Naturally in 1972. Saw him once live in New Orleans at Old Man River.
Wow! maybe it's the wine, but the groove of this recording is outstanding. One of the few recordings where some songs had extended jams. While JJ will never be considered a great guitar player, he has subtle finger picking for a tone that's hard to duplicate. LOL on his sales on the CD table.... 🙂
Excelent.
Just good soul white man I wish all man where like him moe mony😂
Somalia 🇸🇴
The real, “Slowhand.”
Sounds like only JJ can
Thanks to Clapton for introducing me to JJ Cale. Now I don't get tired of listening to JJ ... and rarely listen his Clapton covers.
Epitome of Chill.
I discovered JJ Cale when still a teenager, I learned to play guitar to his tunes... Its' been such a great and enriching journey, I am incredibly thankful for his music. Also people who cover his music here, on youtube, you should check one person in particular, his channel is "telejazzman". Anyway JJ still remains my favorite musician up to this dayhe had it all and was a wonderful human being. So genuine and down-to-earth. Listening to this video makes me feel already nostalgic, it's like I know every note that JJ and his band is gonna play, because no month goes by that I don't listen to JJ... i know all his music, most of it I learned to play on guitar and jam to it myself... He ispired me to learn lead guitar and improvising too. Love his minimalistic approach to solo guitar and his phrasing and jazzy blueasy licks. I listen and listen but I never have enough of it. Greetings to all JJ lovers out there, music lovers and musicians!
Good job 😀
