Car Babble
United Kingdom
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 15 ธ.ค. 2021
Car Babble is what happens when a car enthusiast watches one too many car reviews on TH-cam and thinks, “hmmm, maybe I could do that?”
If you’re looking for in-depth, unbiased and lighthearted reviews of new and used cars that normal people actually might buy, this is the place for you.
Full disclosure: I am just a guy with a passion for cars. I am not a racing driver or a mechanic and try my best to talk about only things I know about. If I get something wrong, I am happy to be corrected.
Oh, and I have an day job, so make videos when I can, but if you enjoy this content, please do give it a LIKE, SUBSCRIBE and hit the notification bell so you never miss me babbling about cars...
Thanks, Euan

The Tesla Referral Scheme is the bomb and here's why...!
I was fortunate enough to get the opportunity to refer someone who was looking to buy a new Tesla recently and I wanted to share the experience because it really was so slick and valuable.

As part of my ownership series of my 2021 Tesla Model 3 Long Range, I wanted to make something special out of talking about the driving experience of this car so I took it up to the nearby Scottish Highlands for a scenic blast where I share my thoughts on what owning this car is like from behind the wheel (and hooning it over a country road!) Great cars, drove one recently and was quite impressed with the spec....lack some power though. Overall, highly recommended 👌
Please note, I made an error on the boot size by saying it was smaller in the PHEV than non-hybrid models. All information I give in reviews comes from reliable sources (I don't just make things up for fun), but strangely, that was picked up wrong. The boot does not feel cavernous for an SUV of this size, so I think when I opened it, plus the fact the floor is flat and batteries are underneath, it see ed plausibly reduced. Apologies again and ill always admit when I am wrong.
The reason why not many EVs in the UK are not below £40,000 is because a £40,000 EV in the UK contains £10,000 of cumulative British government taxes. In other words it should be a £30,000 car. Why an ATTO 3 is £12,000 to £13,000 more expensive in the UK than Australia and £22,000 more expensive than in China.
Mental, eh!?
Long term review after only a year?? And what is then considered to be short term review? A week or two?
🤣 most car reviewers get a car for a day or a week and call it "a review". I own a car for a year and drive it everyday and so would like to think that's a fair representation of a long time in it and yet it draws people out of the woodwork like you on Christmas day to moan about it 👏
@car_babble That is why I wanted to look for a long term review and not one day review from paid journalist However, it turns out that long term review is one year review which is by any means not enough to talk about cars reliability on a long run. . By the way, not all the people in the world are catholics and not everyone celebrates Christmas today. If you do, then merry Christmas. :)
@Toretto16 I guess some things are a matter of opinion. I like to think what I know of a car after 1 year is probably fairly similar to that of after 4 years. Only major difference is going to be tales of reliability and maintenance.
You are told if you get a much greener car with zero emissions you will get tax relief and will have zero tax. Now they go back on their word and now want to tax greener cars that have zero emissions. Then what was the point for going for a greener car with zero emissions? Feckless politicians, governments going back on their word.
Yip, nailed it.
Love the classic look of these. Reminds me of my childhood. Also love the accent. Merry Christmas and greetings from Volvoland (Sweden).
Thanks a lot mate. Merry Christmas to you and yours!
Like owning a VW in 1935...
I'm confused
Cheap, non reliable and non value car.
It's cheap to run, extremely cheap to maintain and I've had no issues with it yet. I also don't care about the valuation as it's on a PCP. If it's worthless when I finish my term, I just hand it back to the finance company.
@car_babble how much do you pay monthly for the PCP.
£350 a month over 3 years. 2k deposit, 8k miles per annum on the deal. Pretty happy with that, tbh, considering the running costs and that it doesn't 0-60 in 4.2 seconds. It's extremely comfortable and has every toy under the sun.
@ Seem fair, does it include insurance and maintenance (£350)
That sounds desperate from Tesla. A car referral program.
Virtually everyone I know that owns a Tesla loves it. If they're desperate, I'm here for it.
In depth review whereby you do not drive it, and wrongly state the PHEV has a smaller boot?
Lol... there's always one. I cover a lot of detail in this review and am transparent about the very few things I couldn't. I am also correct that the boot in the PHEV is smaller.
The load space is the same, phev or diesel. Just commenting as an owner of a phev Autobiography.
@@stephenanderson979 seems there’s always one lazy reviewer. I did suggest he check this information but that comment somehow got deleted.
@Nikk-m5s lazy reviewer, are for real? Did you skip the part where I said I couldn't get insurance on the car?? And I don't delete comments. Ever. I have zero tolerance for comments like this.
@car_babble if you can’t be bothered to fact check, then plainly lie when you’re picked up on something you’ve said wrong maybe you shouldn’t be on TH-cam? You’re completely wrong about the boot space even though you state you’re right. And nobody should say it’s an in depth review without even driving a car! Couldn’t even be bothered to find some private land to test it. Apart from that good luck in the future
Merry Christmas to all watching and thanks to everyone who supported my channel in 2024!
Makes sense in the UK as a company car due to the bik car tax otherwise the 4wd diesel is the way to go
Yeah I'd rather the diesel 😎
Totally agree, I've had to rent one twice and both brand new versions. Absolute useless junk, worthless rubbish. It's totally fine for nipping round town but forget long drives and mountain driving where you have to go uphill. It's embarrassingly weak.
Thanks Mike. Amazing how many negative comments I got on this one for just stating facts.
My mum is from there she moved to australia in the 60s iv got 70000aus saved to travel there i got on bigo thinking i could find someone from there to hook up with and travel around at my expense but that was 4 months ago no luck i thought i could find a smoking hot girl that isnt well of that would be keen to have a friend-sugga daddy for a week to a month but i come across as a creep i think or they dont belive me not sure
Im looking into this, a jag xe 2.0d r sport, or passat cc. Any opinions would be great
Unless you need a bigger boot, I would definitely choose the Volvo. Way more reliable, less hassle gearbox, good economy, epicly comfy seats. I could go on. My favourite car ever owned.
Money pit
Definitely has potential to be
I drive a 2017 C200 AMG line estate petrol sport model in Sweden (I am a Brit). It grips the corners like nobodies business in the summer. Rain slide on corners and snow slide on straights is just fun in the winter, if you just push the pedal. Great review, thumbs up!
Thanks for the comment and glad you enjoyed the review 🙂
How many KWs does yours have? I am currently looking at one myself. How did it hold up for you and were there any problems with it?
Sweepy swippy 😂😂😂
😁
Give Land Rover £2500 per month or go to the Gym. No Brainer. Why are most owners of RR nothing to be desired of???
I think the owners get stereotyped but I can certainly vouch for the owners of this particular one.
Give me a top of the range Lexus SUV over a range rover any day.
Certainly will be more reliable!
Maybe in the afterlife I shall be able to afford such a vehicle
Yeah I won't be affording one any time soon.🤣
Love the video. You’re the fucking man ❤
Thanks a lot mate.
If they wont telephone to discuss. Ignore. Whats with endless messages?
Curiosity
I had mine as a company car 18 months and 22k miles ago. As I can charge at home I’ve enjoyed the cheap motoring but that’s about it for me. I went to it from a 530d and am now happily getting rid of the iX3 to go back to an estate. If you need a box to go from A to B cheaply then it’s fine, but that’s my view on every SUV.
If I was doing longer journeys more often, I would have a 530d estate over an EV any day.
I must have got lucky. My F30 has: M Sport Plus Pack, Sunroof, Full Merino Electric Leather Seats, Full Merino Leather Dash, Adaptive Cruise Control, Blind Spot Monitor, Steering Assist, Rear Electric Blind, Split Folding Seats, Heads Up Display, Professional Media, Harmon Kardon, Wireless Car Play, Traffic Sign Assist, Individual Ash Wood White Interior Inlays, Heated Steering Wheel, Reversing Camera
Yeah that's an epic spec. Are the seats more comfy and does the adaptive cruise work ok?
Thank you. I’ve not felt Dakota leather seats so don’t know how it compares. But has never felt uncomfortable over a 3-4 hour drive. Adaptive Cruise Control works really well though sometimes have to be a bit patient with it, depending on driving mode!
I like it, but I prefer my 2008 facelift A3 8P1 2.0tsfi auto quattro s line with 200bhp its on 97k miles now. But still runs smoothly
Good car!
Great topic! Also beware of the ones that offer to pay off outstanding finance on your car to purchase it. Ensure all transactions clear and you get confirmation from your finance company before parting with your vehicle.
Thanks for sharing!
Amen! "This is more distracting than my mobile phone while driving". Our cars are becoming phones. We need laws to prohibit the use of cars while driving.
Haha good point! It's crazy, isn't it?
But at least your potential scammer is aware of the location of Aberdeen, right? The most important thing is that people must know that Scotland is the centre of everything.
What an odd comment.
I have a 335D in the same mineral grey colour with the same 442M style alloys on a 67 reg. Had it two years now and still want to keep it for the foreseeable... most cars I'm "bored" with after 18 months - 2 years and want to change. As my car was £41,000+ new when I bought in I also had one year left of the steep tax payment - from memory it was something like £450 for that year, now it's gone down to about £15 a month.
15 quid tax for a 335D is extremely satisfying! I would love to have driven the 6cyl. A true driver's car!
Lots of waffle
🤣
This model in touring or new 2017 Volvo s90 r design, cant make my mind up 😂
2 great cars with different strengths. Driving pleasure Vs comfort 🤔
@car_babble what would you buy?
@jaybradley3765 probably the Volvo. The seats are immense.
@car_babble is the quality better with the Volvo then the 3 series, only worry with the 3 series b47 engine is timing chain issues and egr issues and swirl flaps, what's a bit of a concern. Always hard making my mind up on a car 😂
@jaybradley3765 I would say similar quality but BMW probably edges it. Both cars have their quirks to be concerned with out of warranty. Volvo probably slightly more expensive to service.
It's perfectly ironic that Jaguar's rebrand has distanced itself from one cat whilst bringing itself closer to many more. You know, the domestic cats belonging to its new target market: the portly purple-haired rainbow-clad spinster cat lady. Good luck selling a 100k car to her btw.
Haha well put!
Brilliant video.
Thanks mate.
I bought this 4 months ago and I really love this.
It's pretty nice! 😎
A few years ago Honda did an advert that didn't have any cars in it (quite different context but still) - just had a bunch of random moving parts. It was far less offensive than this thouth!. Love the Dolce&Gabbana and telly tubbies references!
Cheers Dave! The Telly Tubbies really is the only way to summarise this farse.
That's flipping hilarious! Good on you for not monetising! Love the sound effects, nose picking and shameless use of your kids!
Haha I just can't figure out where they get their nose picking from 😬
i wonder the 1.5 t3 year 2015-2018 got any oil consumption
Sorry mate not sure. I'd bet it's a good choice though.
I have got a 2018 Mercedes glc250d AMG style formatic premium +! My car has been remapped giving about 46bhp & 64nm of torque extra! My car has AMG brakes and full sun hatch! This is my 9th Mercedes and the best yet now I have given it a lot of love and attention! The car handling is greatly improved by top quality tyres!
That's a decent bit of performance from a 4 cylinder for sure 💪
Mondeo Estate is best looking of all the estate. Lovely car all round !!
Estates rule!
jaguar sells one or two cars in our city. mediocre and pedestrian. not worth wasting time talking about it.
Where is your city?
2015 euro 6 diesels 110g only pay £20 even after 2025 . So cheaper than an ev wow that’s screwed up big loop hole get in there if your on a budget😮
Absolute bargain!!
They must be trolling us now huh?
Would be the best prank ever
The worst is that these clows are convinced they will succeed in selling Jaguars with this GOOFY image. 😅
The mind boggles
That ad looks Talmudic.....🤨
🤣
Kids say the darnedest things...
Really had a laugh making yhis. Apologies for the annoying glitch at 00:19!
Woke advert . No Gangster will drive a jaguar again. Lol
Haha yeah you can see less banks getting robbed
Who knows, maybe it'll be one of those unexpected successes. It seems for example Mr Musks strategy of being as obnoxious as billionarily possible isn't affecting Tesla sales alot either.
Stranger things of happened and I'll happily eat humble pie if it turns out different. Thanks for watching!😊
@@car_babble Enjoying your ramblings :) possibly in the market for a model 3/y LR myself so joined for that stayed for the fun :)
🤣 an accurate summary. I was struggling to see how this was genuine but maybe it is 😬 and it probably cost them a fortune in process. Some ad consultancy has no idea about Jag and pushed their own agenda and management have let it all go through unchallenged 🤦🏻
Thanks! It really is quite astonishing!😅
