Cancer, Multiple Myeloma
I guess this video is under 'LIFES STUFF'!! I feel the time is now right to tell you of my Multiple Myeloma diagnosis (I was diagnosed in January 2022). Things have recently progressed and it feels false to record videos with a smile on my face, knowing that behind it, is a person trying to navigate a Cancer diagnosis and what that means. Love to you all... onwards and upwards! Love Teresa xx

Hi Teresa so sorry to hear your news. We will be praying for you as you travel on this journey and send you a great big hug to help you along xx❤🙏🏻
Thinking of you Teresa !
This is so sad 😢 keep strong Theresa x and focus on Scafell pike! 🙏🫶✊🏻
Nice boots ,enjoy your week 👌
Love them. Airwear soles too ❤ Mxx
Very smart...just right for winter.
Yes, just what I thought! Was nice to upload a positive video, still want Teresa's World to make people smile 😁x
remaining positive is half the fight, please stay strong and keep up the good fight
Thanks James... just know I must stay mentally strong (though I know I will have bad days). so a bit of rare retail therapy was amazingly therapeutic ! 🙏🏼😁 x
You go girl 🥰😘
Thank you Jorose 🙏🏼. I know I'm going to have good days and bad, I have to take a day at a time... focussing on things that make me and others smile - like buying new boots ! Retail therapy is a rare phenomenon Teresa's World! 😂 x
@ 🙌🫶😘
Bless You ❤ Here’s hoping you kick its arse. 💖 Stay strong & be Positive. Mxx
Thank you 🙏🏼 I can only do my best... a day at a time 🤗 x
So so sorry to hear your sad news Teresa BUT if its any consolation I went into Nuffield Hospital Plymouth for a bladder investigation only to find that I had BLADDER CANCER which my Surgeon Mr Henry Sells operated on it ASAP!!! Ive had numerous trips yo Nuffield and Derriford Hospital in Plymouth since so keep your pecka up !!! Kind regards Hugh
Hi Hugh, thanks so much for taking time to tell me your story, and glad you're continuing to be fit and well. Thank goodness for the NHS and amazing surgeons! Yes, will try to keep positive. I know I will have down days, that will be natural... but I'll do my best to 'keep my pecker up' 😅🚐 x
Thank you for sharing 😢 Stay strong and positive.. ❤
Hi Adam, thanks for your kind message. Yes, doing my best... 🙏🏼Best wishes, Teresa 🤗🚐x
Hi Teresa So sorry to hear this news, thinking of you stay strong😢
Hi Stuart, thanks for your kind wishes., I'll try to keep positive and strong and upload more vids soon. Best wishes, Teresa 🤗🚐
All the very best wishes from us. You’re the second person we’ve met in a campervan who has this cancer, kbo.
Hi Tony, thank you both for your kind wishes. I do hope the other person you know with Multiple Myeloma is doing well. I'm trying to keep positive and aiming to upload more vids soon. Best wishes, Teresa 🤗🚐
I'll probably look for one with some kind of indicator light uness none of them have it? That's a good point also about the 12v socket being active with the ignition off could catch people out - Never thought of that.
Hi Stevie, did you check out the video that followed this one, as I ended up getting a larger solar panel. Thanks for watching and taking time to comment... glad it was useful. Best wishes, Teresa 🤗🚐
@@teresasworld3374 Okay thanks for that, very heartwarming little channel you've got here. Quite unique really. You appeared on my suggestions probably because I watched a few reviews for the solar chargers? but I'm hoping to busk around Europe in an old Camper at 'some point' so I'll stay tuned. Best wishes Stevie G.
Hi Theresa, sorry to hear your news! You’re a strong independent lady and I’m sure you have lots more adventures before you. I hope you will get the very best treatment that will keep you enjoying life to the full, and know that you are loved and prayed for. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Hi Margo.. (is this Margaret by the way??) Thanks for your kind comment and I do hope you're right... more adventures still to come! I'm just fearful I have a tough road ahead right now, but I must keep positive and will try and focus on doing more vids soon. Best wishes, Teresa 🤗🚐x
@ Yes, it’s Margaret. I enjoy following your adventures in your van. Wish I had the confidence to drive one. Keep us informed of your progress! I will be thinking of you. Xxx
Oh bless, you are one brave lady for sharing something as personal as that. I to have had a shit time of it over the past 4 nearly 5 years. Try to think positive, think to yourself that I'm going to beat this. I must admit I got a big lump in my throat watching you explaining what's wrong. You can beat this you know you can. Look how positive you are when your out there in your camper van, nothing seems to faze you then. You will climb that bloody mountain, you will be out in your camper van next year. Chin up young lady.
Hi Robert, what an inspiring message this was for me to read, thank you ever so much for taking the time to write it. I will try to do my best to keep positive and focussed on getting my van out in April and getting up that mountain! Wondering why I didn't aim for a sun lounger on a beach, somewhere beautiful rather than a mountain to climb... but that's me... wonderfully bonkers I've been told!! Best wishes, Teresa 🤗🚐
@teresasworld3374 Hi Teresa, the reason you didn't go for the sun lounger is because that's to easy, you've set yourself a target which is just that little bit harder than the sun lounger 🤔 but you know what you will beat both your illness and the mountain, I don't think you'd attempt to climb if you really thought you couldn't do it. If I was 100% healthy then I'd put my walking boots on and make sure I was there to spur and push you on.
Sad news . I feel for you . Youre such a nice person . Be brave
Hi Wayne, thanks for your kind words. Yes, I'll do my best to try to keep positive and will try to post more vids soon. Best wishes, Teresa 🤗🚐
Lovely boots . Take care
Thank you for opening up and being positive you are a brave lady....shed a tear at the end of the video😢 Would like to give you a big hug - thinking of you. Geoff
Hi Geoff, thanks for your kind message and the virtual hug from afar. I'll do my best to keep positive and will try to post more vids soon. Best wishes, Teresa 🤗🚐x

Hello Teresa. I found your channel a while back when we got our campervan. But Ive only started posting responses recently. Our last camping holiday in a tent ended with water running through the tent and we took the plunge and got a dog-eared VW T5 pop top. I think we have probably stayed at the same campsite that you did up in Northumberland. The one just up the hill from Craster, where they do the smoked kippers by the harbour. Its a fabulous stretch of coastline up there. I think it says much about the strength of your character that you have lived with your diagnosis and not breathed a word of it to your viewers. Perhaps sharing it with us will ease your burden. All my best wishes, and you're in my thoughts. My 83 year old mum is going through it with cancer at the moment. Tough times. I wish you good luck for the Lake District trip. I have had some memorable times rock climbing and mountaineering up there all those years ago. It's a wonderful place to be. Something about that combination of crags and water that appeals to me. Even if i did end up climbing some iffy routes in the rain ! Take care. Thank you for all your posts on your channel. And happy trails. Jan.
Hi Jan, thanks for taking the time to write such a lovely message about your T5 pop top and travels... Northumberland is beautiful, I hope to make it there again. My thoughts go to your mum on her cancer journey and hope you are coping too, as I know how emotional it is when our parents need support. Thanks for watching TWorld.... I hope to continue posting vids, trying to keep positive and focussing on Scafell Pike and the Lake District!🤞🏼 Wondering why I didn't aim for a sun lounger on a nice beach!!! Best wishes, Teresa 🤗🚐
5* simple, well presented video, without all the needless tech jargon. Excellent 👍😃 Just purchased a 1992 Trident Autosleeper petrol. 64589 MLS, 7 owners , present one for 7yrs, and looked after, excellent condition for its age, will need some TLC. As I have decades ago owned two type 2, well travelled through France and Spain, plus a Talbot express 5 berth Autosleeper. I am well seasoned with the campervan experience, ( not everyone's cup of tea) and looking forward to new travel experiences for the future 👍🚐 🤠.
Hi Tom thanks for watching and glad you found it informative. Happy travels. Best wishes, Teresa 🤗🚐
@teresasworld3374 my pleasure. Maybe in our travels out paths may cross 🤔.
Theresa, we all love you! ❤️

Stay strong Teresa and eat well, you have always looked well which is a very good sign, My mum had a cancer of the blood (plus a million other things) and started off with Radio chemo (kept her hair) and then went on medication and blood transfusions, she was very active and happy and you would not know anything was wrong. I am looking forward to your video next year when you go up Scafell Pike and too many many more after that, Felt strange clicking the like button as I don't like the news but my like is to show my support and respect and love, Take care and best wishes, Simon .xx
Hi Simon, thanks for your kind thoughts and wishes. I'm glad your mum's journey meant she kept active and kept her hair, I'm hoping she's still with us! Yes... I need to stay focussed and will try to keep uploading videos... hopefully making people smile! 🥰 Best wishes, Teresa 🤗🚐

Isn’t seeing another heron more likely to say come on down loads of fish 🐟 to be had? Mxx
Well.. I do think you could be right!! But herons are supposed to be territorial and should avoid a pond with a heron already sat there... SHOULD!!! but in this case DIDN'T!! THE BUGGAR!! Best wishes, Teresa 🤗🚐
First video of yours I have seen and some really good information there. It’s worth knowing exactly what you want. I’m looking for my first camper soon to get converted. You my dear lady have an infectious smile and personality. Best wishes. Jonathan
Hi Jonathan, great you've found my little channel and thank you for taking time to comment... I wish my channel was as infectious as my smile and personality... may be it wouldn't have taken 9 years to get 2000 subs!!! No! Seriously... thanks for your kind comments and do look at the playlist, where there are lots of other uploads that I hope you find equally as interesting or amusing... best wishes Teresa 🤗🚐
@ you are very welcome and I will look at previous videos. I’m leaving the police soon after 20 years and can’t wait to buy a camper van and go travelling. 2000 subs is amazing regardless of how long it took you. Just subscribed. Il keep watching and maybe one day I may see you on my travels.
Even if I say so myself, this video should have gone viral!!!! 😅
Ive owned various types of Campervans since 1977 ...a Fiat Amigo ,a Toyota Rio Grande , a T25 and last but not least a good old VWT4 Trident Autosleeper with a 1.9td which I love and like you quite rightly say its well kitted out however I have added a Dual Solar Panel which is situated on the roof where the luggage rack is situated and a decent stereo with speakers in the doors...luckily for me it already had an Eberspacher Night Heater in it which is brilliant to say the least as I use mine 365 days of the year not only as an everyday vehicle but if I go up on Dartmoor for a walk I can cook a meal on return and have a brew too !!!! Ditto if I go down to Beesands for a swim !!! Ive taken her several times to Wales and Cornwall and I'm hoping to go to Ireland in the near future when I've finished having countless appointments at Derriford Hospital !!!! Everything works 200% ie my 3 way fridge as my Autosparky went through my Electrics and the A38 Caravans at Landulph nr Saltash Cornwall have been right through the Gas side of things for me too who I highly highly recommend!!!!
Hi Hugh... many thanks for taking the time to comment, I found it an interesting read. That's one thing I need to do... fit a decent radio with good speakers in the door - the present speakers aren't good, simply old! I presently use my JBL speaker connected to my iphone at mo and put the speaker where I want it... so I've worked around it - as you do! Yes.. I'm thinking about Ireland too! May be next year.. depends on various things. I'm looking at fitting power steering to my van, as it doesn't have it.. and it would be quite a nice addition... that's my next big job as well as getting the fridge fixed! Thanks for watching TWorld and taking time to comment.. Best wishes, Teresa 🤗🚐
Thanks for your reply. I have a T4 Auto Sleeper that I’ve had for about Three years. I started watching your videos with your one about the van tour and have enjoyed them all .
Hi there, thanks for being so complimentary... glad you enjoy my little vids... Best wishes, Teresa 🤗🚐
Like you i would only ever have a Volkswagen....and like you again it is the best thing i've ever bought. Also it's just for one...we have a lot in common🙂 Did a lot of research at the time [2007] to find my ideal 'van...layout, storage space, practicality, reviews etc. Lastly if still unsure do what i did....hire a similar vehicle to get the feel of it. Somewhat out of my comfort zone, i hired a 1992 Trident in the Lake District and drove up to the West Coast of Scotland...only issue was the 1.9D was a bit sluggish on the hills so opted for a 2.4D which i still own today....17yr and counting.
Glad you're still enjoying your 1992 Trident - happy travels Geoff 🤗🚐
@@teresasworld3374 1992 Trident was on hire [2004]...actually bought a newer 1999 Trident in 2007 which i still have today🙂
No I totally agree that our design out the back was pants! It got us a cup of tea in your lovely camper. We have our brand new long wheel base van and it’s just been fully insulated and leisure battery, lights and carpets. Rich is now looking at designs to build our C shape bed system. Only thing is no pop top yet. Thinks he will get away without! You met me, what do you think? 😂😂😂. Loved this video and hope we see you next year. Maybe somewhere closer. We owe you a cuppa ☕️ xx
Hey Catherine... I'm sorry I didn't mention your names! I really enjoyed meeting you both on the NC500 - seeing you guys made me feel 'not so solo'... which was so nice! Yes, hope we can meet up again next year... may be in the Lake District or Northumberland? Im thinking of trips to both areas. There's a route called the Northumberland 250... but not sure I'm up for another 'road trip' as such! Wow.. your van is coming along... I'm not sure what a C Shape bed is, or do you mean U shape... Im sure Rich has it all sussed out in his head... but you know what men are like... he needs to chat to you about it and listen to your suggestions as us women can come out with 'game changing' ideas - coz we often think 'outside the box!" and are often more practically minded. All I can say is that it's nice to be able to stand upright in your van, when you get out of bed and a pop top offers extra space to put things when parked up. Lovely to hear from you... keep in touch. Big hugs to you both and thanks for watching this vid!! 🤗🚐xxx
Yes I mean a U shape bed. ❤
More important you have a different hair style !
John... this cracked me up!!! Yes!! Well spotted! I've had it cut and I've coloured it myself... I've gone darker and straighter.. this is my Winter look!! I'm wondering whether to go pink highlights, like Professor Alice Roberts !?😂🚐
The hair is a win !
Great video as always...a big factor is cost..campers and motorhomes a ridiculous price since staycationing took off..yours is prob worth £10 15,000 now I bet.....I was looking into a buying a van ,an converting it my self..but most basic vans you have to pay VAT...and they are business road tax and insurance, unless you can get it re registered..so buying decent van, cost of converting it..tax n insurance..your still talking £10,000 plus so your £7,800 money well spent in 2012..👍
Hi Robert... thanks for watching and commenting. Yes, I agree, I was going to say that by the time you've bought a van to 'do up' as a project... if you add up the cost of the materials and the time etc... you may as well buy an older VW! But then, I wasn't sure if that was correct fact to state! 😂 Yes... after getting the wheel arch done and new windscreen and rust in the gully sorted.. I'd want £15k... and of course, she's famous now!! 😂🚐
@teresasworld3374 🤣 an VW internet star 🌟
I didn't realise you brought your camper in 2012! I brought mine in 2018, and although I do use it as my car, it's taken me really until this year to go further afield in it. I still need more practice! I had a nerve racking trip to North Devon and also the Forest of Dean (actually not that far..) In the borough of Torridge, which is Westwardho! and Appledore and Bideford, you can pay to stay overnight in the car parks, you might those. Did you find it took you some time to build up to using it regularly? You seem to have done lots of travels this year. I agree it is a lovely camper to be in. Such a nice space, it always feels good.
Hi Heather, thanks for watching the video... and taking time to comment. I think you're doing really well to use your van as your 'day' van, as without power steering (petrol version) it's not always easy to manoeuvre and park etc. You'll always come across various situations that push us outside our comfort zones, but the satnav is a God send. Yes... it's taken me all these years to get to the point where I think I would go anywhere in the UK... and I'm considering Ireland next year.. but also I'd like to go back to Northumberland and explore the Lake District, which I'm yet to do. I think the more you use it the more you get to know it. Even now, I always feel anxious and excited when getting it out of storage at the beginning of the season... but once I'm sat behind the wheel... this NEW person blossoms and I get 'back in to it'. It simply brings out the best in me.. not sure how!! So, Heather! Happy travels... we must meet up, I've forgotten where you live... but let's do it next year! Teresa 🚐
We bought a 30 year old vw a couple of months ago, we got it for a very good price but have yet to use it as our old dog was poorly and has just recently passed. We intend to use it a lot next year for short getaways. I know you disconnect your battery over winter, we have the luxury of being able to keep ours at home but wondered if you worry about yours standing over the winter months without starting or running it? Hubby had to jump start ours today and it was having a right ol splutter🤣 Love it, love the layout we have, just a little concerned about reliability going further afield. 😘
Hi Jorose, thanks for watching this video and writing to me about your camper. Is your van petrol or diesel? Mine is petrol, and I put E5 in it... bit more expensive, but she runs loads better on that. I'm always anxious about whether she'll start, not sure why as she always does! Even after being in storage for 6 months and I re-connect the battery, unbelievably, she always starts. Amazing really. With regard to your van, you may have had to jump start, because you've got the battery connected... and I'm wondering if you have something that is drawing power from the battery whilst she's stood. The clock will be, only minimal... but also you may have installed a new radio or a cradle for a mobile phone, which will be taking power, even if you think it's off. That happened to mine, when I had a new radio fitted and new phone cradle. I couldn't believe it, but both items, though 'off' still have something going on in the background, specially if it's a relatively item. Otherwise, she may just be spluttering because she's damp, spark plugs may need re-newing, when was she last serviced etc? Give her a good run out, charges the battery and warms her up. With regard to reliability going long distances...if yours is a T4, they are work horses... they keep rolling. Mines now hit 103k miles, and just done the NC500... I'll go anywhere in mine... Im in GreenFlag if she breaks down. It's about having a plan IF she breaks down, then you don't need to worry about it. Just check all the bits that could go wrong.. cambelt, clutch, gearbox etc.. Any advisories on the MOT... always get done. Older vehicles are totally mechanical... by that, I mean... things can wear out, so just try to keep an eye on anything that you think could now be needing replacing... Hope this helps... happy travels next year and so sorry to hear about the loss of your dog. I lost my Millie in 2019, they are so part of your life and life style... so my thoughts are with you. Best wishes, Teresa 🤗
@ thanks so much , it’s a diesel and T4. Nothing new installed, I think it’s maybe because we’ve let it sit too long between starts and run outs. No advisories on last mot in July but I love him(Stan the van, after my dad) that I want to look after him. He’s stunning for his age, it’s just I get worried about reliability with an older vehicle but wouldn’t swap him for a newer model like yourself, as he has a lovely warmth about him that I can’t wait to cosy up in on a evening. Take care, Jo xx
For those black marks, next time you do it, apply,y some oxilic acid just on those marks for 15 min. They will fade. I have the same glass blocks on my wooden countertop but beware that water can seep underneath if you are not careful.
I should mention those glass trays really do help, though
Hi englishroses, Many thanks for watching the video and many thanks for your advice... yes... you're right, water can creep under those glass surface protectors... it actually has and I fear I need to do my worktops again.. but it's finding the time and enthusiasm! In fact I have a total of 3 work tops to do, when I'm back in the zone! 😅🤗
