Whoop - Go Emilee and Bobby
Hydrogen can be produced from electricity. Hydrogen is the only emission free fuel that can replace fossil fuels in industry, why the Japanese are going for hydrogen. The Japanese are producing hydrogen from efficient high temperature nitrogen cooled reactors. Hydrogen can replace natural gas in the UKs extensive and in-place gas network. All new boilers are hydrogen ready. Natural gas can have a 20% hydrogen mix with the existing burners operating as before. 20% less emission at a stroke. The gas mix is being gradually introduced in 2025. Hydrogen trains, which have been successfully trialled in the UK, can have the hydrogen created by electricity at the train depot, meaning no land transportation. Exhausted natural gas fields are being reserved for hydrogen storage. So expect a mix of electricity and hydrogen. But the prime aim is to be energy independent.

Why would you install the batteries outside ?
I have the GivEnergy All in One with the 13.58kWh, using two solaredge inverters (10 and 6), the gateway can only take the 6000W one as it is limited to 40 amps. So my app readings are not accurate at all.
Do you guys do giv energy all in one batteries with solar in Sutton coldfield?
Hi no sorry that’s too far to travel.
No worries
Well, I'd be smiling like that if I bought that much for an installation
If you had a power cut in the middle of winter how long would the powerwall last. I'm guessing the heat pump would pull more than 5kw and the powerwall would shut down. I'm interested because i have a 12kw air source heat pump and looking into PV and battery storage.
Longi 435w panels are now £85
No ETHERNET port on that AC Coupled Inverter. meaning you'll have to buy Givenergys overly expensive 2.4Ghz only usb Wifi dongle which will cost you around £49.99 including VAT which is a piss take. So buy a kit with 10 year warranty, then get their proprietary £49.99 dongle which is 2.4Ghz only, meanwhile all the newer WiFi 6/6e which has not long come along with the current released Wifi 7 devices are all moving away from 2.4Ghz frequency. So is it far fetched to believe it may even be dropped from future WiFi AP/ Routers in the coming years, the same way older devices dropped 802.11a/b/g. If so will we the have to buy yet another £49.99 overly priced dongle to get the more up to date standard. Also worth noting lora devices cost under a £10 to make, look on TH-cam for tutorials. So let me guess how much GivEnergy charge for Lora devices. oh look £150 - £200... LOL All of a sudden this cost effective solution is looking less and less cost effective. With all of the £2-10 generic USB to Ethernet adapters and generic USB wifi adapters available out there which can be had on ebay, amazon, aliexpress or anywhere else for that matter and GivEnergy 'the sustainable energy green company' opts to go proprietary on these devices. Absolute jokers!
Great idea. Shame I'm too far north
Where are you based?

Yes we think so, Commercial buildings have so much space, such a great investment. Thank you for your comment. 😊
I am looking into getting a heat pump solar and batteries for a cottage that I am about to renovate, There is no gas in that area. . What I fail to understand is why various vloggers praise the Tesla powerwall for its capacity and gateway, yet never mention the givenergy all in one which as far as I can determine has the same capacity and also has a gateway and amazingly is only £6 to£7 k. I'd love to know why Tesla over Givenergy
I'd never give Musk money, completely against moral compass.
Could you explain why ? Do you have personal experience of him ?
I have the option for gas and I couldn’t wait to get rid of my gas combi boiler. I’ve had a Vaillant 7kW heat pump since Jan 23 and it’s brilliant! I also have 3.6kW of solar and 36kWh battery. To heat and power my home including hot water and 2 electric cars my bill for the year is £1100. I bet some people spend over £1000 a year on their gas boiler or even fuel for 1 car. My install was pretty cheap for the solar and battery as I done it myself. So many people dismiss having a heat pump as they assume they are too expensive to run and not powerful enough to heat your home. Couldn’t be anymore wrong.
Wow a 36kwh battery you have? I was planning to get a 13kwh battery and I too will also have an ev and heat pump installed soon. Would you recommend increasing my battery capacity? My solar panels will be around 4kwh
@@danielhill3899get the most solar you can fit on your property and the biggest battery you can get if you want to run the heat pump off peak rate energy in the depths of winter. I charge my home battery at night with a 5kW hybrid Fox inverter so I can only get 20kWh of energy into it at my 4 hour off peak rate. Yes I can charge it with solar but it’s not getting too much sun in winter when I need more heat. If you can get a 6kW inverter then this is a great option for you. You can then charge and discharge at 6kW. Most people end up with a lousy 3.6kW inverter that their installer recommends but I’d pay the extra £300 and get a decent higher output inverter.
We have a similar setup all be it in a smaller semi d house we’ve two powerwalls and are on the Octopus intelligent tariff that gives us 6 hours off peak at 7.5p per kWh our peak rate is 31.21p but we never need to use peak..
That’s a great saving on Octopus intelligent tariff. Eon Next drive EV looks a good tariff as well. 9.5p from 00.30 - 7am especially if you have a heat pump, get the early morning heating on cheap rate.
You'd be better off on Octopus Intelligent Go over winter - 6 hours at 7.5p/kWh and if it's sunny the next day your fully charged battery will export excess at 15p/kWh. If you are mostly exporting in summer you might also do better on Octopus Flux too.
From speaking to estate agents many have said that solar/battery doesn't add much to house values in general as mortgage companies base their valuing on the house space rather than features.
People need educating. It will happen eventually.
That is very dated thinking on the part of the lenders
Won't add a penny to our bungalow as anyone buying it will remove the roof and turn it into a house, depends on the property.
He's on the wrong incoming tariff, imo.
Had my PW2 for 5 years and still has 13.5kW capacity. Installed a Daikin US7 3.5KW which was great when it worked. Unfortunately it failed twice. Once within warranty at 4 years (took weeks to fix during our Summer) and now under 6 years. Daikin Australia will no longer cover it. Not happy.
I mean, come on, how many households in the Uk have the sort of money to install solar panels, a heat pump and a Tesla powerwall? It's totally irrelevant as to how long it takes to break even, peopel simply have;t got tens of thousands of pounds to install this stuff in the first place.
Natalie Portman reviewing tesla powerwall ❤
Climate change Inc brought to you by WEF You will own nothing, live in stack and pack 15 minute cities , eat bugs and be happy.
I got 3 powerwalls installed (pge didnt let me fit more due to their restrictions) and a daikin heat pump with a 14.5 kw solar system. Our summer was extremely hot and we rarely pulled from the grid. The money we saved offset the cost of the powerwalls. Can wait to test out the heating capabilities of the daikin. I wish i had one more powerwall
That’s great to hear, thank you for sharing. 😀
_The money we saved offset the cost of the powerwalls_ So how many years before you break even - three powerwalls would be VERY expensive, surely?
3 power walls came out to 28k. But my pge dropped a lot. My home was built in the 50s and has no insulation. So in summer i run the AC all day and in winter the heater has to run most of the day. My electric bill for 4 months out of the year was 1200 a month and gas bill is about 400. I should break even in about 6 years. Hopefully i can get the tesla solar roof soon so i can increase my solar production.
@@brocinco Okay, very few hoseholds have £28k to spend, and even if they did, their electricity and gas bills are nowhere near as high as yours, meaning a hufe capital spend that might break even if they waited maybe 15 years or more. It won;t happen.
Im not saying everyone should get it. And i know its a lot. I financed them and pay 300 a month. Which was my electric and gas bill. I traded one bill for another. My family pays more than what the monthly would be for the powerwall and solar. But yet they dont want to do what i did. Why? Because the 40k bill scares them. But intead of paying pge, you just pay the loan company. And you own your energy eventually. But i know this isnt for everyone.
Hi, you mentioned that there were 10 charging slots now available, I only see one. Is this a future update? Regards, Eddy
Hi Eddy If you log in to the portal on your computer you will find them under settings, this isn’t available on the app. All the best
Thanks for getting back to me. I went to the Inverter/Remote control setting on the portal but there is still only one charge option. There are two discharge time options but only one for charging. @@ecobubl
@@eddyd8745 hmm, it must be just available on the new software, just checked a couple of older systems and yes they only have 1 charge and 2 discharge times.
If you have the Gen1 inverter there is only one timed charge option. You will need a Gen 3 inverter as Gen 2 no longer available.@@eddyd8745
Quite looking forward to the Tesla powerwall 3, Tesla are the ones why we do a fair bit of battery storage in recent times, 11kw discharge is certainly going to be a powerhouse compared to other domestic battery setups mostly 5kw, im not saying they are perfect but they have a good thing going.
Yes totally agree, we love Tesla, especially their cars, very much looking forward to the Tesla Powerwall 3. Thanks for your comment. 😀
Our small cooker is 7kw full blast which would close the 2 down in the event of a power cut, quotes now are for 3 which is brilliant if it turns up. Get the impression they'll do the solar and gateway and add the battery when they land
Great to see that you are getting back to regular videos. Would have been useful to have more details on actual running costs of heat pump to compare both versions.
Many thanks, yes your right we should provide more running cost details. Hopefully on the next one.
This tech is great. But is only available to those who have a spare 9 million £. Don't be ridiculous!!!!!!! Say again! The tech is brilliant, but so many people will not be able to afford this stuff. Could you add up all the costs as you go please ?
In Italy you get 110% funding for all this, heat pumps, solar, battery, including insulation because it pays for itself in a few years. If only our government had such foresight.
Great stuff putting pressure on me.. :) That is my objective to get some level of energy independence. I got the Tesla four years ago (Got rid of gasoline), the Daikin heat pump is being installed as I am writing ( Got rid of natural gas, I was exited calling Engie asking them to terminate the contract). Next step is solar panels and probably a battery at the same time. Thanks for sharing this experience.
Would be good to see more of you presenting on Fully Charged Emilie. Don't know the size of David's house but the heat pump seemed quite large for a modern property?
I’m sure Emilie will be back on Fully Charged soon. The house was a large 5 bedroom property, although new build 10 years ago, still needed an 11kw to replace an old 7kw Samsung. Many thanks for watching.
@@ecobubl My 8 year old property with 5 bedrooms and 159 SQM apparently has a heat loss of 4.1kw. I've been quoted for a 6kw unit that they say wiill be up to the job. Do you think this may not be the case?
@@carlarrowsmith unless it’s really well insulated a realistic heat loss of 50 watts/sqm so that’s 8kw. So 6kw sounds too small for your house. The house in the video is around 200-210sqm
Didnt realise how big those heat pumps are 😮
you are great ,,, and wery beautifull
Thanks 😊
I'm definitely getting the all in one, no brainer really
Yes, the all in one is amazing, especially the whole house back mode. All the best. Ecobubl
Only issue is that you can't add more batteries yet, from what I can tell.
Good video & explanation. I'd have a GE 3.6kW Hybrid Gen 2 Inverter, 9.5kW battery & a 10 panel 4.1kW array. I would like to consider switching to the AIO to get more inverter power & extra storage capacity. However, I'm told the GE AIO is not compatible with existing Gen 2 batteries. Is this still the case?
Many thanks for your comments, as the All in one is AC Coupled, GivEnergy won`t support it along side a Hybrid system, currently you would need to change your Hybrid inverter for a Solar string inverter, and connect it to the All in one. GE also aren`t currently supporting 2 all in ones linked together.
@@ecobubl OK thanks. I was thinking about replacing my 3.6kW Hybrid with the AIO system but keeping the existing Gen 2 9.5kW battery to give me around 9.5 + 13.5 = 23kW of storage. But, as you say, the AIO does not yet support extra batteries of any type which is a bit of a drawback for anyone wanting more storage. I do find my 3.6kW Hybrid lacks power & we find ourselves having to think twice before running too many appliances at once. I also want to ditch our gas CH system for a HP at some point which is why I need more inverter power to run the HP & other stuff simultaneously. I guess I will have to wait for further GE developments before I make any changes & reuse as much of my existing kit as possible.
@@colingoode3702 You could use the hybrid inverter as a string inverter If you wanted to without the battery and then fit the aio, you just can't have another battery with the aio as its bigger voltage
@@ecobubl 👍
any one worried about the battery cables in the video? 6:34 into video give a clear view :O
If you know anything about fitting Givenergy batteries, the early models had an cable gland for the DC cables to seal tightly against the cables, the black conduit you can see is not there for water proofing the cables, just to protecting the cables.
@@martinperrin1178 sure, the waterproof glad will stop water ingress but how much "protection" will be provided when the cable "protection" isn't even coving the the cable..... UV, bugs/animals or water collecting in the cable protector?? the glad is your last line of defence from the elements/environment, this is outside after all, it just bad engineering in my opinion. Dont use the cable "protector" if you cannot install it right, your just wasting your time :)
