Since the halcyon days of the seventies, Osibisa’s rhythms have been the soundtrack to our lives. Huddled in a friend’s living room, we were entranced by the pioneering beats of ‘Osibisa’ and ‘Woyaya’ -albums that became our anthems. Fast forward to today, and their live performance still pulsates with that same vibrant energy. However, it’s a bittersweet note to find that the visual storytelling fell short. This was more than a concert; it was a legacy in the making. Yet, the lens through which we’ll remember this moment didn’t capture the grandeur it deserved -a poignant reminder of the power of preserving art for posterity.

Nice solo from Coste. If you check out a track like Mental Oil from his Surprisingly Heavy album, it's hard to believe the guy who made that bone crushing sledge hammer is the guy who did the acoustic duos w/ Tolonen or the player in this clip.

Wow, just came across this. Was a big fan of Nucleus "back in the day", and saw them several times. But I was surprised on viewing this, to see Bryan Spring at the drumset. Didn't realise he'd played with Nucleus. Makes sense though. He was, and hopefully still is, an incredible drummer. I saw him many times with the Stan Tracey Quartet.

I have loved the sound of Osibisa since the early 70's and always will. Greetings from St.John's Newfoundland. My step brother Ray Roman turned me on to this joyous sound and vibe many many years ago when we were the young dudes and I will never forget him for opening my mind to this wonderful sound.☮🌴✝♾
