Milo the Parrotlet Talking
A great example of how Milo tends to be very talkative, especially first thing in the morning. Here he's sitting on his Mom's knee and telling us exactly what he's thinking. Milo is a pacific parrotlet, he is currently 5 years old.

So we picked up this toy for MIlo that looks like a stack of sombreros. From time to time we will sneak a few treats into the sombreros for him to "forage" and discover. The thing is, once the treats are gone... he beats up the toy for not having any more treats. Funny, after he beats it up for a while he checks to see if more treats appeared. My little Munchkin is 6 months old and is a wonderful talker too...only mine has a Scottish accent lol. I love how they flutter their wings when talking.

I love the way you also use natural perches for him. You see, when I go past near a park , I look down every tree in case I find perches, sometimes I even ask the city gardeners to give me the branches they cut I've got 22 adult lovebirds and 5 newborn ❤️❤️❤️

Were techniques used to reinforce this learned behavior or did he just start picking it up? If it was training, can you briefly elaborate on your process?
You have to speak near their cage and keep repeating the words you want them to say. Say it nice and friendly not too loud.

Milo is a wonderful teacher! He's taught my Parrolet how to say plop,plop,plop and kiss,kiss.kiss Scooter has a terrible man crush on Milo. We have to watch him everday. Please do more videos!

Yeah, it looks like a pacific parrotlet, the size and colors say that at least. It would also be very hard to get any other types. He is 5y years old btw.

Milo will be turning 5 in 2020. He started talking around 6 months old with just a few words in the beginning.

Hi, thanks for the compliment! He will be turning 5 in 2020. We "taught" him to talk by using the same phrases over and over when we interact with him. It really is up to him which sayings he latches on to.

It's funny, the high reflection on the metal bars look like they're laser beams. Is your bird on the Star Wars planet? Prisoner of Darth Vader or the Imperial Force? hehehe. Just joking.
He's a very clear talker: Do you want some juice, blueberries, seeds. Such a good bird, baby. Tickle. Peekaboo. Trilling and laughing. It's funny when they get stuck on a word: birdie, birdie, birdie hahaha. Gimmee a kiss, kiss, kiss. Smooch sounds. Do you have more videos of him talking? So interesting that parrotlets only seem to talk about stuff they like and have very similar vocabularies. Mine is obsessed with our dog so says Roxy dog, such a good dog, Stop it! Do you want to go outside and Do you want a drink of water.
Parrotlets really are big bird personalities in a small little package!
