Frock & Mol Sews and Grows
United Kingdom
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 20 ส.ค. 2018
Hey Everyone!
Welcome to my channel 🖐
I'm Mol and I run a small sewing business from home called Frock & Mol.
I first became aware of sustainability and the issues surrounding it, when the gardening gods look down on me and I was given the opportunity to start growing veggies and flowers at my local allotment...yaay! It's really been through this new connection to the earth, an awareness of the wildlife around me and my interest in permaculture, that I really starting questioning how I live my life away from the garden and what impact it has on the environment around me!
At the beginning of 2019, I decided to challenge myself to either make, swap or thrift clothes for the year and so far so good 😜
So in a nutshell, sustainability is really at the heart of what I do here with my channel and in my day-to-day life but I'm not striving for perfection over here, just making any steps I can towards a more sustainable life and I'd like to bring you with me! 😁

That looks fantastic!! Thank you so much for sharing this process!! I love it! 😊
🎀🎀🎀I love your sewing ideas - especially working with jeans!!! Can you please share with us how you fray jeans and how you reattach the waist ban on your denim skirt😘
Thank you so much.
how thick is that sashiko thread? i got some linen but is 1mm thick
I have some sashiko thread on hand but wanted to change color so I used 3 strands of dmc embroidery floss and I'm happy with the look and ease of sewing.
Thank you Molly, that's what I'd assumed but it's never mentioned so I wanted to be sure I wasn't missing a top tip magic trick 😅
This is a great video, very clear and helpful - but would you confirm whether the lining seam needs to be hand sewn to close? I've taken in a bodice which has three layers; fine net with appliques, heavy glitter layer and a final lining. The net and glitter layers I've taken in by machine exactly as you show in your video, but without turning the entire dress inside out (impossible for a large gown) I'm assuming that I close the lining seam by hand sewing. Is this correct please as no-one every seems to show or discuss it. Thank you!
Yes I'd hand sew for the neatest finish but most of the dresses I work on, they've been topstitched to close the seam by the factories, so I do this too sometimes :)
🙏
Are you stitching from the back?
The name MOL is very interesting. It is the weight of silk
Yes!
Love it 🥰 can’t wait to make one!
Have fun!
Production idea😊

Where do I buy sashimi books
This series is brilliant. Thanks for making it. I've got to start with the absolute basics of sewing but this was a perfect introduction to Sashiko. It looks so rewarding!
hello! thank you so much for this. Both of my dresses have sleeves - is the process any different for a sleeved dress? I am a complete beginner! Thank you so much for your help :)
Do you do alterations? Where are you located?
❤‼️ thank you
Exactly what I wanted to know. I don't shop online so now I have to see if I can find it locally.
When’s the next vidster coming?
Ha lol
Sashiko techniqué was "invented" as a mending techniqué. You can use just the stitches to reinforce a weak or thin spot in the fabric or add a patch (boro) to cover a hole. So if you are trying to mend, it's important to use a stronger sashiko thread. If you are just having fun embroidering say... a mug rug, it doesn't matter what thread you use... fun fact: there's no sashiko police! Sending lots of love 💖 from sunny 🌞 Arizona 🌵😷
I've watched alot of sashiko mending videos, but this method was a first. So unique! I must try it!
Good informational video! What thickness of Sashiko thread do you recommend for denim? Thank you!
Found it very helpful
Fabulous tutorial!!!! Found a tie-dye shirt with this twist at thrift store, just love how it looks on, but could not figure the twist. Thanks for your video, you are a great teacher.
I followed this tutorial and I was able to take in my formal gown and it looks like a pro did it! YAY! Thank you so much!!
Please where can I buy the thread I’m in Ghana
Embroidery thread is for Embroidery! Sashiko melts into mending...
How do I take up a wedding dress that is to big with a corset back?
beautiful
You fast forwarded past the stitching, WOW
Informative but there's no need for the ear splitting noise at the intro - sometimes less is more!
BOBO VIDEO
Bad video. You spent over 10 minutes at the start talking about irrelevant stuff to stretch the video length out. And then you barely show the actual sewing technique and final product. What a waste of my time
Thank you for the video. Very helpful. Have a pair of cutoffs that I am going to try this on.
Glad it was helpful!
It’s pronounced sash’ ko , coming from a Japanese here :)
Thank you that was so helpful
Why speed it up when coming to the stitching? Way too fast to see what you doing
I have been sewing for over 50 years and I got a couple of little tips from this video. I have a wedding dress to alter. This video is helpful. Not a job to be underestimated.
Very good instruction. The music is way too loud compared to your voice.
😎
Conclusão, na hora que tem que mostrar o passo a passo? aceleram o vídeo. Abraço🙄🙄🙄🙄
Boa noite! OITO MINUTOS SÓ FALANDO....TEM YOU TUBERS QUE MAIS FALAM, DO QUE FAZEM.... UM ABRAÇO.

Love the stretch idea, dress I bought recently fits well but a bit tight in some areas. Adding to it would make it much easier to get on/off.
Your voice is so soothing lol I literally had your video on the whole time as I was marking my dress
Ура 🙌
Should had been a good video but I can't see anything on things being pointed out .
I think I would use a big can inside the leg of the pants to support the material. Then I could use both hands to repair. Great Ideal tho. My gson goes thru pants like crazy!!!
This is gold. Thank you so much!
Aw thank you 😊
