Hi, was going to ask are the miles pretty consistent there ? What does an average week look like on miles ? I was thinking of applying there . Thanks , be safe out there.
It depends what your wanting to do OTR is getting 3,000+ a week. Regional or home every weekend is more like 2,000/wk. it does seem to be consistent. if you do apply you can use my driver code as a referral its MORC09
I think they changed the pet/rider policy too was told by my recruiter that I could have my dog and rider after the training and team period
SPREAD AXLES are the way to go like what most flatbed trucks run and some hopper bottoms
Stay safe out there Chas!
Hello beautiful
Thank you for taking us along on this. Some amazing cars.
Nice video and thanks for not putting goofy music over the whole thing
Smack the pass a few times on dash and put it back. I had same issue and company kept saying samething. So I got mad one day and smacked it 3 times on dash and called it a bad name lol. But i never had a issue with it in 2 months now. I think something comes loose in them. It's worth a shot
I might try that next time
Thank you
Congratulations on driver of the month
I would say in backing always get out and look. Don’t get overconfident and don’t rush it. If you are not sure, and if it’s possible have someone spot you.
❤ y’all stay blessed
Put it in the trash. They will seed and make more
Glad your safe❤
Farther back the better they look like crap moved in
Breaking down on the road sucks. Too bad you couldn't have gotten a newer truck. You have gone thru quite an ordeal cleaning out truck just to put back in same truck. How's your motorhome coming along/
I have a pit mix named Willow
Does Crete Schaefer allow a dog?
Yes
Thank you for the video. You are correct about the accidents. I run a 492 mile round trip dedicated route. Before Covid I averaged 1 accident a day. After Covid now it's 2 accidents a day. People are driving too close and too fast. My truck has collision avoidance sensor. On I-95 in SC, average speed of cars is 87 MPH. The highest I read was 116 MPH. Glad to hear you are picking up more miles.
I drove for nine years. InNovember I was stuck in a fatality crash right in front of me. And then in January, I had a close call on a mountain. So I am done driving.. I haven’t worked for almost 6 months but luckily, I saved money while I was on the road… I might go back to school
I understand. Good for you on getting out and having money saved so you could. And good luck on your next adventure.
Are you still at Crete
Yes
Enjoy seeing Spot in your video. Thank you for taking the time to share your career with us.
2 Friday's ago I was 6 miles from a customer, it was 4:30 and they Close at 5 ,Blew an airline.Lucky i had a friend close buy and we went ang got 1 .It was 5.:20 when we fixed it .I tookcthe load home and came back on Monday.I had put 168 miles extra miles on the load wich didnt pay good but i was hauling it to get home for the upcomming 4th.90 bucks for the airline it was chrime braided and if i has to call a mechanic who knows how much it woulda cost .Probally a minimun of 400.
I stop at scales no problem being doing it for years. Stay safe.
I love Iowa! Beautiful state :)
I want to bring my baby girl
Thanks for helping the other driver. We all need to help each other out.
I was thinking of coming to crete but only thing thats available is OTR dryvan/reefer/flatbed. i live in new england
That’s a though decision
Do you often leave Sundays on your regional account?
Sometimes. That is an option
Are there tv’s and WiFi in there trucks
No that is up to the driver if you want that
The US army invaded Czechoslovakia with one of those circa 1979
It's cool that the motorhome still had the original manuals.
Thank you for your videos.
No freight shortage Too many trucks that is the problem
How is the pay for regional ?
Safe travels 😊
Thank you for the video and your time for making it.
Long time you posted. Been away for long.

It’s just an truckers atlas
please what book is that ???
Rand-McNally Motor Carriers Road Atlas. Bridge Law is explained in chart on page A 15 This is a federal law, is the same in all 50 states. Figures shown are MINIMUM lengths that a load is spread out. Example, 80,000 pound load on 5 axles must be 51 feet OR LONGER FROM FIRST TO LAST AXLE. It has NOTHING to do with the 41 or 43 foot figures that the OP is referring to.
Do both companies have cdl training?
No wilson does but crete doesn’t
I also made the jump from Wison to Crete and could not be happier. Better pay, better benefits, no smart ass fleet managers (JT) and trainers who actually train and do not treat as a slave. No comparison. Crete all the way
Crete will sell you a truck, but they dont lease. You need some down payment but you are actually buying it. No lease crap here at all.
I’m actually leaving Crete this next load, I have 400 mile runs but deliver late so if you only have to drive a few hours you’re still parked for over 15 to 20 hours. It’s probably great if you’re young and a gamer that likes sitting at truck stops but that’s not for me.
i left them after 12.5 years went to gemini for 2 hauling tires then i found a local crude hauling job paid by the hour and ot after 40 i made more being home every night than i ever did at crete
Company has really changed over the years, hang in there, still a great company no matter the internal struggles all companies deal with.
Thanks chas
Good to hear from you! I haven’t made TH-cam videos but I’ve made short videos!
You from Michigan? So am I! I have quite the story with trucking! I did my first 9 months with Holland/Yellow till the company closed I worked at ESTES for a couple months and my mom passed away and they fired me cause I took a week off I work a smaller carrier now it’s a stepping stone probably will join Create in a couple years! Before I was a truck driver I drove city of Detroit buses 4 years and Greyhound 1 year
You are amazing, I like your videos. I’m trying to learn all the in and outs of trucking. Because I’m going to start school very soon. Thank you for the information you give.😊
