Cirque Du Soleil Audition: Part 5 - Acronet
มุมมอง 1.1K5 ปีที่แล้ว
Acronet is part 5/5 of my Cirque Du Soleil KuriOs Audition. This position was for a replacement drummer in the upcoming Australian Tour. Overall, I had five days to work and record roughly thirty-three minutes worth of material to send in while still performing my regular touring gig at night. Not perfect by any means, but I enjoyed the process. Hope you enjoy the music! WEBSITE: MattWatsonDrum...

Here is my take on Brandon Graves' "Seven Toed Cocoa." Fun groovy tune to play over with a chance to solo towards the end. Get the play-along at Vicfirth.com.
Hamilton: Act 2 Drum Cover
มุมมอง 44K8 ปีที่แล้ว
ACT 2 drum cover of the Hamilton cast recording. No sheet music, or any insight other than listening. It is by no means perfect, and I am sure I am catching some of the sampled parts and parts that the percussionist plays. Also I do not have all of the snare drums required, but adapted the parts to the closet sounding drum. Thanks for watching! How I Threw Away My Shot with Alex Lacamoire: th-c...
"What's The Weather Like?" -Ash Soan Play-Along by Matt Watson

Decided to record with this Play-along track today. I took a different approach to the groove during the verses than what Ash Soan plays in his example video. Fun track to play, Enjoy!

Interzones by Bruce Hamilton

This was the final piece on the Arizona State University senior recital in spring 2010. It was extremely fun and challenging to play. Hope you enjoy! I apologize for the poor audio and video quality. For more information, please visit www.MattWatsonDrums.com
Amazing, I loved your video, I really like that song and to hear it live in the show is magnificent, congratulations, you play very well....
Where did you get the sheet music??
Hi Matt, Really enjoyed your Hamilton vids! Very impressed, Man! Maybe this is a dumb idea and I expect you have already considered doing it. Maybe taking a few lessons with one of the drummers currently playing the show, Hamilton (or another) would help you landing a sub spot? When I studied drums with Tommy Igoe when he was playing night after night for Lion King during one lesson he mentioned the possibility of me subbing for him on Lion King. Also a great drummer who I went to music school with, Wayne Dunton was already subbing for Igoe at LK at that time. I never became good enough to sub for Igoe although I would have loved it! Good luck man! You play so good!
Nice job Matt!
Oh wow!! Loved this!! Hamilton Fan here & I want to learn the drum part of Hamilton, can you teach me? I would love that. U KILLED IT!
Why are you drumming on your leg?
It’s easier to keep in tempo
How do you know when you have to do a drum fill in a Broadway musical?
Nice Matt!! Killin it bro!!!
You should go to Broadway!!
3 minutes in. Your style isn't eye catching, but I mean that in a good way. Accurate, precise. No wasted movement. Your technique looks very classically trained?
Have watched this so many times, fantastic playing, Matt! This video actually inspired me to do a full bass playthrough, I appreciate everyone stopping by: th-cam.com/video/PDBwdkfSddI/w-d-xo.html
MANNNNNN, NOW I DEFFINLITY LOVE U
How do you play the fill at the end of Right Hand Man? I can’t figure it out or find music for it anywhere
Matt Watson? From SuperMega? (This is a joke, I know this is not him, amazing video)
pop
Came across this searching for drumless tracks off the Hamilton soundtrack. You killed The Schuyler Sisters, Lin should have consulted you on this track, absolutely nasty. I know this was posted like 8 years ago, but I would love to hear you do covers without caring about the accuracy to the original. Thanks for posting! Edit: Go nuts on satisfied, I know you want to
Thank you so much. I am so happy to be able to view the drum playing, especially for 'Satisfied'.
You should’ve played the exit music for Hamilton man
Any chance we can get an ID on the hats? They’re absolutely incredible.
15" Zildjian K-Light Custom Top, with a K-Constantinople bottom!

Randomly looked for this and can't believe I found it! Thank you for posting. I've been playing this for the last month by ear and it's good to see the actual parts. So fun to play. And very nice drumming here too BTW!!
My Turn
What do you have for iems?
When are you posting more content? you're super underrated!
I really thought I was watching a real rehearsal. This is so good.
This is amazing. What possessed you to learn the whole act? Nice job!
I think he auditioned to play drums on a tour
Is this sheet music available online by chance? Would love to following along notation wise
I'm not a musician of any kind but I've watched this through multiple times! The intricacy is amazing
14:20 that triplet figure hits so hard as a drummer!
How do you count from the last "dah" to the final kick+tom in You'll Be Back? I couldn't seem to time it
Sounds great man! You’re nailing it!
Fucking props man
can you make a list of everything you used in this video.
so how do you audition to play in a broadway pit
My guy your thigh must be so numb after that
Absolutely incredible work here. Enjoyed every second
Thanks for sharing this! Would defo like to see the auditions!
Have you shared them?
Naive as, but what’s the difference between your two snares?
49:10 *Take a break.*
What corps did you march with? DCI? WGI?
Incredible!! Amazing, I'm so so satisfied👏👏
Ssooo goodd :,) Deep respect👏👏
Amazing work
DID YOU PRACTICE THE SOUNDTRACK AT ALL
were did you get all the hamilton sound pad sounds cause im trying to get for a school production
There are pretty much all on stock sounds on the SPDSX - minus the finger snaps which I recorded my own patch. Good luck with the school production!
whats the crash on your right? its so crispy
studio playing looks different with on stage playing, and Andre doesn’t even play these on stage 👏🏻👏🏻
the grooves are so tightly crafted in pocket but at the same the kick patterns are advanced like in Schuyler Sisters- its not the usual 2-bar pattern alternating.. im still trying to learn the songs on drums. It’s good to see a video of a whole act from the sound track
Congrats on the Aladdin gig. The music is so good in that production. Looking forward to when we can all start gigging again. Keep it up!
