Welcome to my channel! My name is Jiuchun (Joy) Yin and I'm 14 years old. Other than piano and harpsichord, I also have a passion in dance, reading and travelling. I believe that you can achieve anything if you are focused and dedicated but of course, at the end of the day, you need to like what you’re are pursuing.

"Prelude" from Suite in A minor, RTC 1
The French Baroque composer Rameau wrote three books of Pièces de clavecin (pieces for the harpsichord). This prelude is from the first book published in 1706. It has an innovative form, starting with an unmeasured prelude then followed by a measured prelude in the second half. Unmeasured prelude is a prelude in which the duration of each note is left to the performer, written without rhythm or metre indications. Unmeasured preludes leave full freedom for the player to improvise as they feel differently for the music.

To me, your interpretation of Bach Preludes and Fugues is very authentic. Your almost hypnotic playing places us back into the 17th/18th centuries. I guess it's the way you feel and hear the contrapuntal parts - the voices coming in and out with light and shade. Technically, mentally and musically brilliant as always! (11 years old ???!!! - I believe JS Bach is smiling at you with approval from wherever he is now!)
OK, I'm taking more interest now! I loved the Bach English Suites. I have the book and can't play them! The Handel was a delightful reading marathon: you played with wonderful musical fluency. Possibly my favorite composer. The video of the neighborhood was fun and the delight in nature pleasing. Charming .... I'm running out of words ....🐷

It was an humbling while enriching experience! Not planning the next one yet. Long way to go to improve and learn, so I am focusing on furthering the pianistic education (rather than competitions ☺️). Thank you again!
Absolutely. But it's never crowded at the summit/ peak of achievement and success. Further, there are no short-cuts, only the accumulation of one experience upon another with or without success, Finally, you will get the break. How wonderful to be pianistically related to those Steinway and other big maker concert grands! They make them for you! YES, GOOD STRATEGY. I absolutely maintain, lay the foundations, and go back check them , reinforce them, level them, use a plumb-line. I mean getting the foundations right and strong is prerequisite to ensuing success. You are right. Take your time to develop your relationship with the piano and love it more and more. I'm honored to be able to comment on your videos.

Honestly Joy, it can't be that much longer for you. Yuja Wang was, (I think) playing Mozart K545 at around age 10 or 11? And Opus 36, Opus 55 and 20 etc. while reading the music. But this performance is ridiculous! I mean from memory and so perfectly at 10 years old??? WOW!!! (Work on charisma ... subtle charisma, stage presence and audience communication. Just slowly, without trying, just to be aware of it and let it come! No need for you to respond to me. Your teacher of course, is incredible. Breathing techniques. Are you having singing lessons?) Go for it!

Any tip to study this? I don't get the idea of I have to use my arms for that leggiero
When I studied this etude, the attention was mainly on activating the finger with various slow practices. The arm helps the smooth overall movement, support going in the direction while not hindering the finger to do the job. At a fast speed, I find using the ear to listen to whether certain note is not clear enough is very helpful to go back certain places’ slow practices.
@@JoyYinPianoHarpsichord so when we talk about the arm movement we are kind of referring to the wrist flexibility right? Do you reccommend slow practice with different rhythms? I need to know everything since I don't know jow to start studying this😂 thank you do much♥️
@@fryderyckchopin484 Wrist is key to remain unlocked (relaxed) all the time. Pay extra attention to wrist and arm for smooth “turnaround” places. Yes, I think change rhythm practice is helpful to ensure all fingers work.
