Shockingly Fast PB 100 Snowcat! Most Useful 'Cat Ever?
I was pulling 5k on my bed with a 2005 f250 5.4 , in a long up hill with traffic, like 7 years ago we give that truck to my wifes dad, we got it back this year, i was feeling great pulling things with it ( i got 2 7.3 powerstroke and a 5.9. Cummins) i like the long bed , i got no cats and a free flow exhaust, sounds great, any way un that hill my truck was dying , every stop it was hard to take off, even my gearbox got hot, i mean i putacelerate 100% and it even move, poor truck, find out the air filter was really dirty, they where using the wrong oil, gas filter dirty too, change it, and the old 5.4 likes to rev high now... Now i wish i got the v10.
Dumb question, 15k + the truck... Or 15k total
Any update on the truck?
Just checked carfax.. a year ago it was at 785,000 with its second owner! I bet it’s at 800k by now.. so cool! Thanks a bunch for watching and commenting!
I love this video, and I love your car! The damage adds character, so many stories haha. I work at a dealership in Scotland and we got a 2016 RS in, I fell in love with how it drove. It's just so fun, even compared to more expensive cars with more horsepower. I actually bought it! Just waiting on some paintwork getting done, and I'm glad I saw this video because it's nice to see the fun factor doesn't completely fade away after while. All the best man.
Hey thank you so much!! I truly appreciate it! Congrats on getting an RS, epic! I’m sure you’ll love it. I finally needed a larger car after 9 years with my Juke Nismo… enjoy the car and drive safe!! Thanks very much for watching and commenting!
Hello! I want to buy a nissan juke nismo and I would appreciate some good advice from a professional. The car is a juke nismo rs 1.6 dig t, 200 hp, cvt transmission from 2013. Thank you very much!
Hi there! They can be reliable cars… but have some weaknesses. The CVT may give you trouble.. or it may not! Also, the timing chain may fail suddenly, which can cost thousands to repair, and can even destroy the engine if left too long. If you have some extra funds for potential repairs, definitely buy it!!! I appreciate you watching and commenting!!
This video looks like it was made back in 2009
Haha yep, it was 2012. Was also originally uploaded by my friend Eugene to Facebook, then I downloaded it years later, hence the extra pixilation. Thanks so much for watching and commenting!!!
@@samlovescars34 you’re welcome
What muffler does this truck have. I have a v10 and I'm looking at muffleres
Hey! Unfortunately not sure. He doesn’t have the truck anymore and just told me it has a Banks exhaust. Thanks a bunch for watching and enjoy the v10!!
The "breath of death"
My Big Cam 400 starts right up in cold weather no either or anything!!! She works everyday though
Prinoth are better :P (I'm kidding, but I worked on Prinoth for a year at a ski hill so kinda biased)
Haha!! Gotta love a good snowcat rivalry... Thanks a ton for watching and commenting!!!
@@samlovescars34 It's fun to tease the PB crowd (I've only ever seen 1 PB in my life) . We used to joke about PB standing for "Probably Broken".
@@mrstealyoblocks4473 Super funny, gotta tell Stuart that one!
This is how good trucks get bad names and people die. Just stupid.
Yeah he uses a Kenworth W900A to tow with now, haha. This was definitely not ideal, I suppose. I think he had it safely within limits of being able to stop coming down hill and at least kept it slow.. Idk. Thanks a bunch for watching and commenting!!
After watching EVERY Panamera review on YT, I've yet to find one reviewer that has put anytime into researching available options (with the exception of The Smoking Tire") . The first gen Turbos weren't meant to be a "muscle car". They are high end executive autobahn cruisers with a crap load of power. If you want traditional paddle shifters then order the Sports steering wheel. There's literally 8 quintillion options available (thank you Throttle House) This guy should stick to renting BMWs that every teenager has and leave the Porsches to those who appreciate quality. As far as Turo, any Panamera owner that would rent out there turbo doesn't give a crap about it. Twin Turbos make "jet engine sounds", dope!
Yeah I feel you! I do think it's an amazingly incredible car. It just seems a shame to me that every car didn't receive that steering wheel, but I can't fault them for trying something different I suppose! Just threw me off, being used to regular paddles. Thanks a bunch for watching and commenting!!! I do love Porsches, and would like to learn more about them..
wow that's a beautiful cabin ( the first one you was at )
Yeah it is!! Thanks a bunch for watching!!
4:30 gears and a built converter really helps these trucks, been happy with my v10 no need for a diesel for what I tow and couldn’t justify the price tag!
Yep, for sure! This one did very well for basically stock. What a beast. Thanks a bunch for watching!!
Do you rent a snowcat for winter grooming?
Nope luckily he owns a couple of them. Awesome machines! Thanks a bunch for watching!!
I would have dug two holes and put salamander's in and melt the snow under it and warmed it up
Hmmm, very interesting!! Thanks a bunch for watching and commenting!!
Another great visit with Stu. Does he do any work with the pistenbully during the summer? Will you make any videos this spring and summer with stu? Where does your live nice to see him!
Hey thanks! He will be doing some maintenance, and I'll try to film it. And I would like to do some filming, for sure. I'd like to film some excavating projects, etc. We live in Northern Utah but can't specify the location out of respect for the neighborhood's privacy, etc. Thanks so much for watching!!

Nice..love seeing other uses for snowcats..
Oh yeah! They're useful machines.. Thanks for watching!!!
Well great just grabbed a set of these for 100 bucks with like 9/32 thread. And I own a Juke too. I have Winters also so these were a steal for this summer.
NICE!! Awesome deal. And that's epic you have a Juke as well. I hope the tires treat you well and your Juke as well! Definitely drive safe out there. Thanks for watching and commenting!!!

Hey there! Thanks for watching!!!
Thanks for the fun !!
Utica newspaper? Huh. Small world. I learned to ski over at Woods Valley in Rome.
Yeah!! Gotta love the old Observer Dispatch. I used to appear in that paper all the time, due to my mom being a reporter there. She had a column about outdoor activities and we did lots of cool things which appeared in the paper. So cool! I'm glad I can report on outdoorsy/Stuart things with my youtube channel.. I spent a lot of time skiing at Woods Valley as well! Most notably with my friend Chris.. Great little terrain park for its size, and awesome glades. Such great times at that place! I'm from Waterville by the way. Thanks a ton for tuning in and commenting!!!
I lived in Alaska for 13 years a quad won't break trail but as long as you've got a trail quads do fine in fact you can use a quad more months in a year in Alaska than a snowmobile
Ah, nice!! Yeah that seems smart! They are certainly useful and easy to ride. Also can be very quiet. I bet it was pretty wild living up there for so long.. Super cool! Thanks so much for tuning in!!!
I noticed when you took delivery of the new snow cat there were Steal gates that seem to block off your community from the highway system, how do the residents of your community get to town
Hi! So there is another gate, more commonly used, on the other side of the community, leading towards town. It has a key which residents are able to obtain in various ways, haha. People ride a snowmobile to their cars. Thanks for watching!!!
I just wanna know how you get paid, is it like a home owners association where everybody pays a monthly fee for your services or what?
Hey again! It is basically like that, as far as grooming of the snowmobile trails, then he's paid per job for other snowcat tasks, such as hauling water, recoveries, cabin-clearing, etc. Thanks for watching and commenting!!
Are those seasonal cabins and whats the purpose for plowing the snow, so people can use them earlier
Hey! Many are seasonal only, but some have year-round residents. Yes, he's easing access to the cabin, making it look nice, and, in some cases, removing snow around the roof edges so more snow can make its way off. It seems necessary for preserving the structure, in many cases! Thanks so much for watching!!
Im very curious about that operation does the operator own those snow cats or who does he work for, seems like a really aswsome job
Hi there! Yes, Stu owns his cats. (and two dogs) He happens to live in a unique place with a major need for snowcats. Really awesome!! Thanks so much for watching!!
Sam does Stu still work at Park City driving cats?
Hi! Nope, not for a couple years. Thanks a bunch for tuning in and commenting!!
You have to be very careful with that little trick at the very beginning when the throttle is tied on the snowmobile to start it. A friend of mine lost his once when it took off before he got it untied and it went right across the lake and smashed into some trees at very high speed. That was the end of it.
Wow, yeah that's crazy to think about.. Quite a story, thank you for sharing that! That is definitely a real possibility with this technique... I guess it's only safe if the tie thing was tethered to one's body, but that might be even worse, haha. Thanks a ton for watching and leaving this great comment!!
Need a 2 -3 inch diameter yankum rope. They don't break. Pulling things out.,😊
Yep, for sure. Thanks a bunch for tuning in!!
How was the snow this year? We hardly had anything this year in northernish Ontario. Supposed to be +15C monday!
It was good! Average amount of snow, after a slow start. Yeah I heard "back east" was super dry this year. Thanks a bunch for watching!!
I can’t believe that people were dumb enough to be that close to a tow strap under that much tension. Wrong place , wrong time that could have life altering consequences and or kill somebody.
Yeah agreed. Dumb question: If you're farther away than the strap length, is that still 100% stupid? In any case I won't be doing it again and will bring a tripod or something if I'm filming a recovery. I appreciate you mentioning that and am glad the rope somehow held together... And thank you for watching!!
How does it work for Stu to make money from all the time and fuel spent in the snow cats? Also where in Utah is this area? In winter is it only accessible by snowmobile, backcountry cabins?
Hello! Almost any time that the cats are being used, he's doing something useful with them and getting paid. So this is up in No. UT but due to privacy concerns for the neighborhood, aka "blowin up the spot" I can't say exactly where it is, sorry!! Indeed, only accessible by sled. Very cool!! Thanks a bunch for watching and commenting!!
Com on Man U can run that equipment on solar.
haha yeah! Gotta love diesel power. Thanks for watching!!!
@3:47 Love the short-sleeve T-shirt while Hucking it on the sled. Making it look easy. - Oh yeah was there a time when you did not ask the owner to dig out the corner?
Had to cool down the machine. Those sleds aren't made for riding on trails need snow on the tunnel to keep the sled cool.
yeah he rips!! That was a friend of ours just helping out! Thanks a bunch for watching!!
I always enjoy you trips to Stu's place and seeing what he is up to. That is a different way of life up there for sure. Stu can ride the heck out of a snowmobile! Hope you and Stu and having a good winter. See you later Sam! You know I'M subd to the channel!
Thanks!! Me too. It's a very unique setting! Indeed, Stu absolutely rips on vehicles/in general, and he's progressed a lot on snowmobile in recent years. I can't even turn around on a flat trail, as you may have seen. They're quite tricky!! I can ride dirtbikes though, I just choose not to. Haha!! Thanks for watching!!
Sam! Take that sled out into the powder. You're gonna over weight it. Bury that thing! Don't be a wuss!!!....lol. Thanks for the videos and the chance to critique you. Keep it up! Off trail and on and keep filming! Day into night! THANKS STU!!
Yeah true! I have Stuart there to cool it down as needed, haha! We really appreciate your support!! Thanks for tuning in! More coming up!!
More sharing of this beauty and your channel will explode.😊
Thanks!! Yep I need to get filming more!
Sam getting pretty froggy on that turbo.
You know it! So much fun!! Thanks a bunch for watching!!
Did this guy grow up grooming runs at Toggenburg?
Hi Sam. Your machine is a " beast!" I'm living in southwestern Vermont/ North Bennington. I seen 2 feet packed snow. ( I dug it out by hand. Then had a manual push snow plow. ( I built it.) With a retractable bulldozer blade. I used a 1/4 inch thick metal tip on the bulldozer blade. That slices through snow packed drifts. I made another plow w/ the " same" metal tip. ( That's sleet, freezing rain & ice.) was a farmer to our family small farm. It was very handy that wooden push snowplow. Even though. I had to wait for 2 inches of snow to use it. I ❤ plowing snow. I've got compliments on my strong & wide shoulders. I was " fit" during my 32 yrs of small farming. ( I'm retired from farming. It will be 6 years this June/2024.That drift you knocked down. 12 feet high? Or more? Massive snow drift. 😲😲😲😳😳😳🤔🤔🤔🙃🙃🙃 Your " beast" a fuel gussler? Or. It " sips" the fuel? We had about 6 inches of snow. We normally have 2 feet by now. Take care & be safe Sam. Thanks for answering my questions. Have a good weekend. 😍😊😉👍❤️💜🙏🌨🌬🌡
Hey thanks! We're familiar with that area... That sounds really cool!! Stu would be into that, definitely. The snowcats are amazing and yeah I think it was 12 ft. They're decent on fuel. I think they burn about 7 gallons per hour, or something like that. Not bad I suppose. Sorry about the lack of snow back East!! I've heard it's terrible this year. Oh well! Thanks so much for tuning in and commenting!!! Have a good weekend!
@@samlovescars34 Thanks for your reply. 7 gallons a hour. You can accomplish a lot in an hour. Thanks again Sam. 😍😊😉👍❤️💜🙏🌨🌬
Love the video and content but I have no idea what the issue with the snowmobile was. Can you clue us in?
Hey thanks!! The sled was flooded from having the fuel petcock left on, due to some carb issue/being super old. They can be tricky to start when they're not happy, so it's great to have the owner right there to do it. Thanks for watching!!!
Oh wait, if you're referring to the other snowmobile, it overheats if ridden on a groomed trail only, so Stu had to cool if off in the snow for me.
Such a rad day... thanks again!
Oh hey, for sure!! It was so great hanging with you guys and we happened to catch some footage, too! We'll have to do it again soon. Thanks for watching dude!!
Does Stu and that other guy still have a youtube channel? It was called Backcountry??something??? I forget
Not anymore. They wound up not pursuing it for various reasons. We'll see what the future holds though!! Thanks a bunch for watching!!
Love this lifestyle
