Gorgeous car. The rear end is over the top with those fins and the little lights on them.
I've always had a soft spot for the early Airflows. The chromed tubular steel seat frames are so cool.
Looks like a limo inside. Very impressive! I love the A/C vents, but wonder how well they worked. But A/C with a compressor in the engine compartment in a 1954 sedan? Way ahead of other manufacturers.
Thanks for watching Gary.
But for the spotlight, this is identical to my dad’s car in every way. This is restoration of the highest order, with an eye toward history rather than speed or flash. Thank you.
Thanks for watching Lyn.
The color shades work well. Nice car.
I agree. Thanks for watching.
Most of us who are of a certain age grew up in homes where Dad bought the cars-- and were generally all GM, all Ford, or All Chrysler households. I tend to pay more attention to the GM cars, many of which we owned.... the 57 Chevy Wagon, the 64 Nova, the 67 Malibus, the 72 Grand Prix etc. What I don't see much of in shows like this are the mid market cars like the Olds Cutlass... for many years the #1 seller in the U.S. Not too many Bonnevilles, LeSabres, Delta 88's etc.; not to mention Ford Galaxies or Chrysler New Yorkers. I guess they lack the sex appeal that attracts enthusiasts today. Thanks for traveling down to Wildwood!
You're welcome. I agree on those cars too. Thanks for watching Steve.
This is one of my favorite Imperial, congrats ❤👍😎💙🇺🇦🇨🇦ps I think there is gold all over because it was an Imperial Crown👍
Thanks for watching Stephane
Just never eat the food
Thanks for watching.
If I remember right, the '69-'77 Grand Prix's had the longest hoods GM ever made.
They were very big for sure. The Eldo comes to mind but the Eldo has no header and the GP does. Either way they both have a very long nose. Thanks for watching.
😂too much background noise
Thanks for watching James.
Beautiful
It sure is. Thanks for watching Tom.
Put new fan belts on it. Why take a chance on overheating that motor
66 to 68 were the best looking Toronados. In '69 they lost the big wheel humps and fast back rear end.
The bucket seats and centrr console make this one very rare.
Thanks for watching.
His vanity plate is absolutely perfect.
Lol I like it to. Thanks for watching Stepheneson.
Real nice car I always liked them
Thanks for watching.
Gorgeous Vehicle 😊
For sure. Thanks for watching.
First one I've seen in white. That car was well loved to be kept that nice. Super rare.
I agree! Thanks for watching.
Radio controls are above the speaker; left wheel volume, tuning: right wheel, on/off button above.
Thanks for pointing that out! Thanks for watching.
The cars name is perfect, imagine what adventures a driver could have with this car. good thing its not mine. Id drive it every day. twice on Sundays.
Lol. Thanks for watching.
Relaxing just to look at, thanks for posting, we had a 59 Monterrey , same roof i think and windows etc. soo comfortable.
Glad you like the video. The 59 was nice as well. Thanks for watching.
Very nice. The wheel opening, rocker panel and lower quarter panel trim is off of a Park Lane as are the fender skirts and rear panel trim.
That’s great information! Thanks for watching Dan.
Beautyful year, smooth not overly tacky!
Indeed! Thanks for watching.
312 V8 I bekieve .. it was widest car on road .. regulation in 1961 set a maximin width forr all cars
Thanks for watching.
60 Ford was slightly wider.
Fairly sure thats a 368...largest of the Y blocks also used in the Lincoln Mark II
Two new families of engines were introduced for the 58 model year, the FE series and the MEL series. Base powerplant in the 60 Monterey was the 312 cid Economy V8, the 383 cid V8 was optional. @@donreinke5863
Gorgeous classic from the 1960's. Love the push buttons. The rear sort of reminds me of an English Daimler, without the fins of course. What year is the black one in the background? I have always like the styling of that one as well. Thanks for sharing!
If you're taking about this one its a 68. Check it out here. Video link th-cam.com/video/ZmWPuj3kVw8/w-d-xo.html Thanks for watching Ron.
Always liked the widely spaced headlights and "the blob" taillights on these! Even when new, you just didn't see many of these on the road.
I agree, they do have some unique styling. Thanks for watching Tom.
At the age of 16, I bought my first car. A 1951 Studebaker champion 4 dr. I thought it was the ugliest car on the road! But, it was unique. The column shift was converted to a Willy's jeep floor shift, a big deal back then. So I set to make it something special. I won a lavender teddy bear at the county fair. I took it to a paint shop and had them match the color. Bought a diaphram compressor. Removed the ugly front bumper, and painted the car. Indeed, as a junior in Newberg Union Oregon high school, I had a unique automobile I was proud of. I subsequently was arrested for having a speed contest, and was unable to drive to the Senior prom At the age of 20, I was able to purchase a 1953 Studebaker coupe that I considered a beauty, but Navy obligations prevented me from ever putting it on the road. Needless to say, I developed a LOVE FOR Studebakers. I just turned 80.
That is a great story Dave thanks for sharing it with us. Thanks for watching.
Ridiculous beautiful
Yep. Thanks for watching.
Great video! Beautiful car! 😍😍😍 The golden age of the automotive industry! The bigger the better...😅
Thanks for watching.
Love '60 Mercs. That is the bottom model.
I love them too. Thanks for watching.
With overdrive, you could easily run 70 mph.
That would have been fast in its day. Thanks for watching.
Those were the days my friend
We thought they'd never end. Thanks for watching.
Very cool looking car!!
I agree! Thanks for watching.
My first car was a 1962 G.T. Hawk that my dad helped me purchase in 1977. In 1962, Dad bought a new four door V8 Lark instead, for his young family.
Thanks for sharing your memory. Thanks for watching.
That's a beautiful car. Especially like the rear window curve and chrome. Curvature of grill seems to match the dashboard.
I agree! It's a cool looking window. Thanks for watching.
Ooh I love this Mercury. The emblems on the fenders are called a gunsight and the rear window is called panoramic. Great one Mike 👍
Thats right Dave I forgot about the gunsights name. Thanks.
@Mikesclassicautoworld You're welcome. The 60-61 full size Mercurys are special.
Nice. I'd hate to have to replace the back glass on that one. Another great find.
"Knock on wood". Thanks for watching.
standard was a 312 cu in V8...............optional was a 383 cu in V8.....in the Monterey series
Thank you dlbrittain1976 for that info. I drew a blank on this one. Thanks for watching.
Also available was the 430.. plus $173. for the Merc-O-Matic!
One classic motor car !!
For sure. Thanks for watching Geoff.
1937
Yep. Thanks for watching.
I'm a Ford guy generally but these LaSalles are right up there as my favorite pre-war car.
I can see why they are pretty nice. Thanks for watching.
That’s a typical 20-30s color for appliances like ice boxes. That and a muddy green two tone is on my ice box.
Never thought about it but I guess you're right. Thanks for watching.
How many lights does this car have? Yes
2 headlights, 2 driving lights, 2 spot lights and 2 turn signal lights.
Look . You can actually see the motor. Hahaha 😂
Thanks for watching.
A very unusual car, and a VERY unusual model, the Town Sedan!!! They were disregarded for so many decades, but, through the lens of time, they are such a strikingly beautiful example of art " de-car "!!!
I agree. Thanks for watching.
Love it! ❤
Me too. Thanks for watching.
The white wheels may have been available as a dealer accessory. But they were standard on the Frost White '90 Prelude Si with ALB (Anti-Lock Brakes). They were standard on the '91 Prelude Si with ALB or 4WS (4-wheel steering). Regular Frost White '90 Si models had 14" wheel covers (same as the Prelude 2.0Si) and '91s had silver alloys.
Thanks for the info and thanks for watching.
Amazing mechanical work of art , most definitely he has to go to show his car everywhere
