Riding around with George for a session. Had several tire warnings but one really big one. That tire was shot for the amount of throttle I wanted to give it. Regardless, it was fun riding around on a sparsely populated track.

    Moonlighting? Just kidding!😂 Serious question though. Is it me, or do you not drive as hard out of 2 as you do the other turns? Ever since the patch was put down, it was rainy my first time riding it and I lost traction and almost went down several times. Is this a mental block on my part or do you feel the same? BTW....we were there too. Our first time with precision. Felt like we were "cheating".😂

    • @palerider6611
      @palerider6611 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Good that you were out there. There was no one out in A so I really had some good laps to myself which I needed. Funny enough I was looking at the AIM data for the whole lap and comparing my best lap Saturday to my best ever. Going into 2 is the same until about the first third of the turn, the middle third I am a bit more conservative, but the last third is identical. Before the grinding of T2, one would lose the rear coming out of there if too hard on the gas. Once that bike is nearly vertical it is full gas until you let off for T3. All told, the difference is less than 0.1 sec on lap time there imo. But in the rain, it is vastly different. It can be very slick there. For me, I've been working on driving harder out of T4. I'm losing a bunch of time there.

    • @HangOnHangOff
      @HangOnHangOff หลายเดือนก่อน

      Slow out of T2 is pretty normal, as you don't give full gas until you see a line out. I think the issue here is not the slow out, but slightly too early on the tip in, which made the line too narrow through the turn.

    • @HangOnHangOff
      @HangOnHangOff หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@palerider6611 yea T4 is weird given the camber. I know I can go in faster, but the fear always prevents me from doing so. If you get the line right past start-finish, it's not bad as long as you are not braking over the rumble on the left. However getting the line right is a bit of a challenge with all that black stuff down on the track. Going into T5/4 is more intimidating. Every time I'd let off the gas early only to realize I could have taken more speed going in there. The bump in T1 is far worse in this direction.

      @@HangOnHangOff I'm definitely slower in the opposite direction but chipping away at improvement. I've also found that it coming from T5/4 onto that short straight, it's easy (or terrifying) to run right up to the edge of the grass. I also find that the bump in T1 is much more pronounced in the reverse direction. That's another line I'm still trying to figure out.

    • @HangOnHangOff

      @@palerider6611 Oh yea turn 1 is harder in reverse. I just try to turn in as late as possible and hang off as far as possible and let the bike shake. I found the turn in is harder than dealing with the shaking, due to how far you can push it. as for the T5/4, I throttle myself out to the edge of the grass (in theory) as I come out of the turn, I think that is the right way of doing it.

    Did you need to clean up the undies afterwards?

      Hahaha no. I was pretty much resigned that I was either going to hit it or miss it. Thankfully it was the latter.

    I remember reading years ago ('80's) about a woman ( probably from California) that moved to Pennsylvania and was mortified that people actually hunted deer. Over the next few years she saw and heard of deer / car collisions, but wasn't till she hit a deer and it came thru her windshield and put her in the hospital that she connected the dots. Then she went around urging hunters to "kill them all !". ☆

    After that I'd forever be paranoid and cautious on that track.

      Same thing could happen on the road honestly. I've seen ladders, furniture, Christmas trees, road kill etc. all on public roads

    I think the deer was hit. Looks like it too me. There.s even some fur flying soo yea prolly injured and made it to some bushes to die.

      I checked the bike afterwards because I was sure I was going to see a fur tuft or a leg, but no sign of impact. I think the grounds crew found it within the hour after they shut the track down and got the deer out of the area. My understanding was that it was unharmed by the bike. Don't know how but that's what I heard.
