    What a beautiful speech it makes me think about people that have been in my life that helped me who believed in me. One of the people outside of my parents what's my math teacher Mr Bruce noblitt. He was the only one who really got it through to my head the the math that I cried about because I didn't understand and he asked me was I going to give up as I was welled up with tears I felt so embarrassed that I didn't understand but he got through to me and I did end up graduating. I graduated late but I graduated

    How many people can bring the house to silence during their acceptance speech? How many can bring people to tears? I am from Pittsburgh, and he is such an icon. Such a genuine person. I met him once, for two minutes, in July 1996, when I worked at Carnegie Science Center. I got to tell him I grew up watching him. He smiled that big smile of his.

    I really loved Mr Rogers growing up. He speaks to my inner child. He was very special. No one like him ever. This is well deserved. He made my childhood better. Even now as an older person he brings tears to my eyes when I listen to him. It's you I like.....iconic.......Thank you Fred Rogers for you being you. and helping us to believe in ourselves. Love & Light

    Make no mistake, that is genuine tribute applause from that show-business audience. Fred's television work with children represented all that is good and wholesome and pure in this world, and it should be glorified.

    I really loved Mr. Rogers. If it wasn’t for this God-send of a man, my childhood would have been even more unpleasant than it was originally. It couldn’t be more evident in this day and time (2024) that we need more Fred Rogers’ on TV in to carry that special light ✨✨ into our children’s lives just as we had

    Pretty cool to actually see all those millionaires and people of power be lead into a moment to think about those who have come before them with only a tenth of a fraction of their own wealth, sacrificed for that person, and now they are in those very seats as the 1%. Rogers was a powerful man in his simple convictions.

    What bothers me in this one is that people laughed when he looked down at his watch. The studio audience laughed at him when he was on Johnny Carson too. I think that this man was so sincere and kind that it was unusual and thus uncomfortable for adults to know how to handle it, so they laughed.

    Even in such a moment of personal triumph, he insisted that the moment be shared with everyone there Even to a group of adults, some jaded by the stress of Hollywood, adulthood, and personal strife, he never wanted anything less than to make the world brighter

    “And then he lifted his wrist, and looked at the audience, and looked at his watch, and said softly, “I’ll watch the time,” and there was, at first, a small whoop from the crowd, a giddy, strangled hiccup of laughter, as people realized that he wasn’t kidding, that Mister Rogers was not some convenient eunuch but rather a man, an authority figure who actually expected them to do what he asked… and so they did. One second, two seconds, three seconds… and now the jaws clenched, and the bosoms heaved, and the mascara ran, and the tears fell upon the beglittered gathering like rain leaking down a crystal chandelier, and Mister Rogers finally looked up from his watch and said, “May God be with you” to all his vanquished children.” - Esquire.

    We are so much poorer without this man... seeing how divided this country is and how so many use religion as justification for their hatred and how politics are literally destroying us. We need more people like him. If our so called leaders were more like him maybe America wouldn't be such a mess. Lord knows he'd ne a better leader than the crazed malignantly narcissistic orange or the dottering old man with the charisma of oatmeal we've been stuck with. But we need to be more like and. Rodgers he was such a good soul

    Fred Rogers was the definition of kindness. It's not as if kindness is rare...but his kindness shown so brightly because he was in the spotlight, a place usually reserved for attention hounds and self promoters. Mr. Rogers would have none of that. To the world's kind people who are not in the spotlight, Fred Rogers salutes you.

    I'm saddened, in a way, because there will probably never be another man like Fred Rogers on this earth again. Most celebrities or icons would probably talk a good game, but really...did they walk the walk? Fred Rogers didn't just portray an on-screen persona. He walked the walk, on and off the camera. One of the kindest, most gentle people to have ever lived. In these times, when people are hating on each other because of political beliefs, we need to remember the lessons taught by Mr. Rogers.

    • @bingfan22
      @bingfan22 ปีที่แล้ว

      Fred INSISTED on behaving naturally both on and off camera, saying that children can spot a phony a mile away. He also hated being a celebrity. That was NOT what he was in the industry for. He saw himself as a teacher, and he took that job VERY seriously.
