Thank you for your comment. Of course, if the problem one is facing has to do with a sin one is struggling against, then of course, one needs to do his part, which is striving against this sin, and God will give him grace and strength to overcome it. My salvation requires God and me. God did His part and continues to work for our salvation, but we also have our part to do. Without God's grace, there is no salvation. At the same time, not resisting sin and not striving to live out God's words in our life means that our faith is dead and that we are hypocrites. Faith without works is dead (James 2:18).
