Mourning Doves Mar 20 – Apr 22, 2023
Mourning doves nested again in my balcony. On day two unfortunately one of the babies died 😞
The other baby grew up to a wonderful loving bird who flew away. The kid loved hanging out around me. The kid did visit me once the day after but after a final goodbye visit for good.

These mourning doves graciously built a nest and brought up their 2 kids in my balcony. Here is a video of them growing up.

Don’t touch them.
I was surprised to see how late into development the fledglings were still taking crop milk.
Beautiful 😻
We have a family of Mourning Doves in a nest under our deck right now (our deck sits about 12 feet off the ground so they built on top of the posts). But wow!!! What a blessing that you were able to handle them. Thanks so much for sharing. Blessings, always~
We used to have a nest on our top of our house but a few days later it fell over❤😢
I got the same on my window sill, should I try touching them?
Not at first. Start by just hanging out closer to them and maybe a few days later if they are comfortable you can try ☺️
Nice
I just wonder what about next years, did they return to the same place for nesting?
so when i would touch my dove while breeding my dove would SLAP THE HELL OUT OF ME OR PICK THE HELL OUT OF ME
So beautiful. This brought a feeling of love to my entire being. ❤😊
Precioso , qué afortunada que hayan anidado en tu maceta 🤗
Hello
So beautiful
Very valid beautiful babys and mama to ❤
This is lovely. I hope the little ones stay safe out in the big world 😊
Look at mama eyes. They r bright and show her happiness towards her children❤❤❤❤❤.
Did amazing job befriending that mated pair of doves. Usually their extremely skittish. Also, where I live their nicknamed "cinnamon doves" because of their coloration.
thank you so much for sharing this!!!!!!
💕
Wonderful video of the birds and chicks, have watched it a few times now. Thank you for giving them a wonderful safe place to nest.
You are such a good person!!
I love seeing the dove spread their wings for the first time at 1:19 . Life is so amazing 🥲 ❤
I was waiting for the hawk to fly in.
This is when you keep them as pets and give them a home.
Beautifully done! I'm so happy to be currently watching a mom + two (Dad comes and goes), also in a flower pot - I never thought I'd get to see baby doves! Thanks for your wonderful video!!
That was beautiful 🥲
I’m so excited, a mourning dove couple has been perching near my apartment and I think the female trusts me 🥰 She lets me walk close to her, even within touching distance, and doesn’t fly away! I’m going to give them a basket so they can lay some eggs 💗🤗 Sadly when I first moved there was an egg shell on the ground 🥺 I read they’re a bit notorious at being bad at constructing nests so it couldn’t hurt to give them a helping hand! They’ve left plenty of twigs but haven’t assembled it yet 🥺 Maybe I’ll add them into whatever I find! How big is this planter?
I wish you put the days in the video..
Let me ask for a dove.
Qué bonito
I had Doves chicks in my vent but Pigeon attacked and killed the chicks... I hate pigeons
2 days ago, there was a mourning dove in my garage (the size that where in Cynthia hand). It was flying all around the garage, but not getting out. Initially, I thought it was a big bird and let her out. But she had a small flight and sitting in my front yard, couldn't fly higher. Then googled and found it is baby and immediately went and took her back inside. Baby is not eating by herself, so I need to boil grains and grind them and fed her. Not sure what to do now. To leave her outback or to grow her until she is big and change it to an adult color.
You could take it to a nearby wildlife rescue if you like. I would suggest keeping the baby for a few days if it doesn't fight you. Feed it till it gets stronger and then let it go if it likes. You are doing great! The bird will be very thankful to you.
@@cynthiabasu Good News. My kids saw some birds around my backyard & kept the little one near the window. As soon as she saw the birds outside she was flapping her tiny wings with excitement and we realized that should be her mom. We took it outside and left in the ground with her mom. We witnessed cute drama and after few hours of struggle she flew to the tall tree with them🥰
Wow thats so cute of the baby
❤❤❤
Hello, love your video. I just ordered some seeds! I was searching videos to learn about nesting mourning doves and found yours. I have a pair nesting on my patio in a pot of last year's dried thyme. I'll post the pic on my page soon...
Aww, you're an angel.
QUEEEEE HERMOSOOÓO VIDEO LLORO DE EMOCION 😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢 CREVIERON LAS SIENTO MIAS🥰🙏💯💯 SON SERES NOBLES HE INTELIGENTES💚💜🧡🤍💛💙🥰😘
ITS SO CUTE ❤
Here's wishing you a lot more mourning doves!
Nice video but why are you feeding a fledging chick water and seeds ?😢 After they leave nest , they should feed by parents for another 2 weeks
That is not their full diet. Their parents start to leave seeds in the nest so that they can start looking and pecking for food. So providing more seeds for them to peck on is part of their training.
@@cynthiabasu don't interfere please 🥺. That pappa dove definitely has been born in your home , he trusts you but he doesn't cut your hand when you doing something wrong. Btw when you pickup too much time a wild baby bird , you're arising the chance to being hunted in outside
❤❤❤
Thanks for your sharing
I love doves and have always had 10-15 at the bottom of my feeder and I even built them a platform feeder. But suddenly overnight they disappeared except for an occasional one by itself that stops by for a minute. Idk why they disappeared. Thanks for sharing this beautiful video. I'm amazed at how you can get so close to them. Mine were so skittish.
Thank you
They are TOO PRECIOUS!!!
😍😍😍
