How to Program a Keyless Entry for a 2007-14 Chevy Silverado
มุมมอง 183K6 ปีที่แล้ว
*DISCLAIMER* If your truck is newer than 2012 you probably have a different UI system so this method won't work for you. Keep in mind, not all trucks were changed to the newer system. It will work for some 2012 to 2014 trucks. These are mostly base-model, fleet, or trucks sold outside the US. ALSO, there is only one button for you to press it isn't that hard to figure it out. If you can't locat...

You do not show what buttons you are pushing to get to the settings on the screen
For some reason that option of “relearn key” doesn’t come out for me. I always have the best luck when it comes to DIYs.
@@slvsher7373 you truck might not have it.
It’s not called a piggy back dumb ass. It’s called a tap or a splice. You should not be giving electrical advice to inexperienced people because your jargon will get them killed.
What if you don't have a white wire
Is that mud on your dash? I'm sorry but I had to ask. Anyways I have a 2012 silverado LTZ and it had to be one of those trucks that has to be taken to the dealership to be programmed. What really sucks is how much they're going to charge me..... $100 per remote. NO JOKE!!!
Press what??????
@@Tony-uj7cd there is only one button you can press on your speedometer.
Does anyone know what kind of troubleshooting would be available for a situation where the display cannot go into the active learning mode and instead stays on the screen with the check mark?
yeah wheere do we wire those into nowe on the veehicle?
The switch I have has a accessories and a power to connect the wires which one do I connect the green and orange wire to
I have no idea.
Where's the other half of the video? How to connect to the headlights wire.
For some reason I had to have my truck running. Saved me 2 hours of waiting at the dealership
what are you pressing to change settings
The black button the the gauge cluster.
bro mines worse 😭😭
There’s no relearn section on my 2011 Silverado
What if you do put the white and red together 😳
whats the blue wire next to the orange wire coming out of the plug for ????
It is the ignition feed.
Dont work on a 2012
I take electrical tape and wrap it around the those snap on connectors for wires. Why? Because I had some unclick. Some are cheaper quality too. Also you think it cut into the wire to make contact and then you close it. Nope. That happened to mu radio years ago.
So do you still leave your tps sensor hooked up or just unhook it
Just leave it alone.
I need to take time to say thank-you for having patience with a Norwegian who knows just enough about electricity to be dangerous. I wired up a switch just as you show in your video and it works great. I regret that I am so unobservent that I didn't notice until the third time viewing that you clearly show the back of the switch with the ground wire attached. Any agrivation I may have caused is entirely my fault. Thanks again.
Your steering seems to be as loose as mine. I replaced the steering box for 600$ . What a waste of money. Why didnt they put a u joint connection at the point where the steering column shaft connects with the steering box? JC witney makes one that would work. Nobody will weld it on for fear of liability.
Is there any reason i cant just snip the orange wire at the overdrive button end? Nobody answers questions on these videos.
It won’t work that way. I believe that wire runs back to the pcm wiring harness.
@@GambisRestorationsthank-you for the answer. I'm still not understanding what the situation is at the switch. If orange is on one terminal and ground on the other it seems the would be a dead short so where does the ground wire get attached?
That wire doesn’t run back to the transmission. Your computer grounds the plug when it is time to shift into over drive. The only thing your overdrive button does is tell the computer it can do that function. There is not wired connection between the two.
@gambisrestoration. I did the overdive trick and worked for a year or so., it stopped working., i replaced the solenoid in transmission and nothing still the same., what else can i check ? Please help ., thanks man
finally a hero also what year truck
1992!
👍
Appreciate you man worked like a charm
Thanks, dude. $10 off of eBay just finished programming my remote. Everything is working perfectly.
How do you call those blue connectors and where do I can find them?
Video is a waste of time. No point in watching
Tonight this song came to me ...its when life was good before COVID drugs opioids natural disasters...
Did you figure out what part that bearing is? I have the same problem but worse and can't figure out what it is
I believe it’s a bushing that goes in there that wears out over time. I haven’t fixed it yet.
WHO SHIT ALL OVER UR DASH BROTHA
Hi. My 2012 Chevy Silverado LTZ does not have a Relearn Key Remote setting. Does this mean I have to take it to the dealership to get the extra keyfob programmed?
My 2011 has the same situation? What did you end up doing?
I have that same trouble 2013 suburban
you da man
Awesome video Brother, you fixed me up Thanks
Mine doesnt have red wires
Thank for the tutorial. It worked perfect on my 2010 Silverado. $40 from Amazon and the dealership wanted $190 plus tax to do it.
so the stock power cable goes back on to the alternator?
You never take it off. You only take off the part that has the 4 post which goes back to the PCM.
@@GambisRestorations thank you for responding :D
@@GambisRestorations one more question theres a ground wire to the engine that goes on the alternator right?
Horrible video. You can't give out partial visuals and just be ok with it
these connectors are made to cut through the wire jacket, they are designed to keep the jacket on so they will self center in the connector. take your pliers and squeeze down on the metal crimp before you close the snap ring. Also a little dielectric grease would not hurt either
Can I connect 2 halo to one driver??
This doesn’t work for 2011 Chevy 2500 HD, there’s no key connection from the learning system.
I'm sorry my 2011 Silverado does not do that
Muy buen video grasias
Did you cut the wire from the pcm to the regulator?
I’m confused on what you mean by that. The regulator is inside the computer. I removed the plug that ran from the computer to the alt.
@@GambisRestorations I get that. I thought there was a wire that ran from the pcm to the regulator. I might be given info. I did this yesterday and have a dead battery again.. did you run a ground wire from the alt to the regulator?
@@FarNorth12v yes, that’s what is connected to the green wire from the regulator. Green goes to ground terminal of the alt.
@@GambisRestorations hm I ran my green to ground and my spliced blue and fuseable link to the top post. Didn’t seem to work
Not fuseable link, the 12v key switch**
So basically you showed how to crimp wires.
Gotta be the dumbest and most useless video ever!! For the people that aren't car savvy, they have NO clue what button you pushed, you're too lazy to clean your cluster and a waste of alot of people's time you idiot.
Thank you very much 👍
What about the remote starter??
What button did you push
The button that is near your odometer.
