Wow. I actually built my first base right in the first location you showed. It just happened naturally, it was close to Squin, didn't have super strong enemies, and it DID grow with me. Have a base here naturally made all my members get ~30-40's in stats from the raids lol.

watched 20 mins because i was stuck with 0 science points and 0 blue points and i can’t get either because the donkey went ok strike and demands oil, and you know what i need to get oil? blue points and bodies. also your video would have been 5 minutes shorter if you didn’t answer questions only people who have never heard of the game would ask in the beginning.

The problem with helping the Shek take over HN, is that the Shek let the fog men run wild. So you'll see an uptick in hoards of sprinting feral Hivers that will beat you unconscious, take you back, and eat you alive. Only, this will be in HN territory now... Like right outside Stack.

I wish it was a little easier to automate other functions of the base. Often it's a pain trying to manage my base while trying to also manage a recon/expedition/assault team that's out on deployment.

Wow, there is SUCH a difference between a well-paced, scripted video like this and one where someone is just kind of talking as they fumble around....very great video, thanks so much for the extra effort.

If you want a fun, risky playthrough, going nomad is a great way to see the world and as long as you keep exploring and always buy every unread map you find you will be loaded from all the loot you find in ruins and you get plenty of combat training for your main squad. Better off with a small group of hardened warriors than trying to manage an army on the move though. You can always save up all the money and ancient books/ai cores/engineering blueprints to invest into a base later on and you will have a much easier time setting up in the riskier but more profitable or interesting places like the swamps (swamps arent that hard once you have atleast one guy with 40~ stats and good gear and a few good support fighters/ crossbowmen and you can get stupid rich off smuggling hashish

This is the safe base builder playthrough. If you want a super easy base location that has all the fertility, copper, and iron you need for a full fledged city, just recruit an all or mostly human squad and holy nation territory is actually quite cozy. Turning in enough hungry bandits and bounties without charging money can also secure you an alliance with them and after that they dont care about non humans anymore. The territory is safer than the borderlands for humans and you can build in a central area between 3 decently sized cities to send your crafted weapons and armor to and to stock up on whatever you may need. Also doesnt hurt that early game, hn patrols will patch you up and give you food early game. Lastly, they dont tax you, they just wanna talk to the man of the house about their lord and savior okran once a week.

another tip no one mention Bar thug in bar didn’t count as citizens so If you sneak and thunk them the guards in the bar will help you fight them off then you can loot thug gear afterwards standard grade dustcoat,blacken chain shirt,plated drifter pants,drifter boot and low grade nodachi perfectly good gear for starting the game

Storage crates and chests can also be built outside, not just inside. But you have to put them on one of the iron foundation blocks if you want them outdoors.

When playing as a noob, I was so angry with myself having slammed the keyboard and yelled profanities multiple times that I instantly felt like disliking this video just from seeing it, nothing personal, but it was actually really helpful so I will instead like your video. Sabres and hackers do not require twice the strength, only the heavy weapons do. Sabres and hackers are not heavy weapons the information in the video is just flat out wrong, you can check the wiki for all strength requirements for every weapon in the game for example the Foriegn Sabre at Meitou (highest strength requirement) is only 12 strength to wield. Only the weapons belonging to heavy weapons have high strength requirements. Those weapons are the Plank, Fragment Axe and lastly the Falling Sun. Moreover the whole "light weapons" thing is also a debunked myth as even the falling sun can be wielded with 12 strength if its rusted junk quality so early on almost all weapons are viable moreover the only weapon i would avoid is anything blunt as blunt weapons are mostly trash in kenshi unfortunately
