Homemade Catamaran Build part 3
มุมมอง 23K5 ปีที่แล้ว
The much anticipated continuation of the catamaran project! Some behind the scenes work was done to bring both hulls up to their current state. Unfortunately I didn't get as far as I wanted this summer, I really wanted to get the hulls completely finished. It must be even more frustrating watching this with years between episodes, but I promise I will get there eventually.

Camel's Hump to Mansfield in a Day (the "Long Trail Special")

35 miles and 11,000' vertical gain, but surprisingly manageable. Despite a supreme lack of planning this was a very memorable adventure (in a positive way). I originally thought this "ridge" traverse was only ~25 miles, but it turns out to be quit a trek. It is felt much easier than a pemi/presi though, because the terrain is mostly gradual and rock free. I think the map might be lying because ...

Nice bike✌️
It sounds like you are only 1/2 to 3/4 throttle just putting along. Also like the gas tank and the way it just sticks out there.
Was trying to research this route and I see this, man climbs the whole way with just snowshoes and hands? What a legend...
2023 maybe sjoit a short of the boat now?
Great project man! Hope you have time to finish it. Already saved your videos actually helped me on my research to start my own project
This is how motorcycle were created
how you guys remove the co2 while diving
Play stupid games win stupid prizes! The background music reminds me of an 80s arcade video game.
I have a Motobecane bike but can't force myself to put an engine 😎 on it,,,great job on that bike,, you need carbruetor ,
You need the Tin Man's legs to protect your own! Otherwise a cool build ✌️
Need to see the cat sail buddy! Part 4 please
Appreciate the Pokémon music
Did you build from plans ?
Those gunnel timbers should be one piece front to back and the bulkheads notched. You didn’t coat the interior before you put the deck on ?
I totally appreciate the effort producing a video to share this too. Cheers eh.
🇺🇸 I know of a couple of folks got a REAL DUI on a bicycle with no engine for having ONLY one beer and got their driver's license pulled for 2 years NOT counting thousands of dollars of fines on top of fines that's America NO REAL freedom for ANY REAL American folks 🇺🇸 in the United State's and they call it the land of the FREE
Yeah it can suck sometimes
🇺🇸 Police probably gave you over 1,000 traffic tickets ON THAT bicycle to fill their personal bank Bank accounts NOT ANY American HAS ANY REAL freedom in the United State's AND they call it the land of the free when they REALLY are nothing free in America REALLY that's a nice bachelor YOU did a great job on that bicycle TOO BAD NO REAL freedom IN America for ANY Americans
That's a cool way to get around.
And all those air bubbles are why you should use a squeegee for applying your epoxy on glass
Damn you gouged it on the rocks the first time you were just testing it
OMG that is the raft my mate and I took down there nearly a decade ago!!! I'm sad to see it has a hole 😭
Keep plugging along brother love your results. Gonna use some your ideas
Any updates on this build?
It's a great cave but sometimes the squeeze in the beginning gets flooded real bad
The deeper you go, the air you breathe contains more nitrogen as it is pressurized at lower depths. Breathe out all the air to make sure you don’t get decompression sickness when you exit the water. Also, carry a knife on you just in case the plastic gets a massive hole and strangle you to death.
What is the height of the pontoons?cm?
This is pretty great. I'm thinking of checking this cave out very soon.
Exactly. That's why their called.....ACCIDENTS! A car or person jumps out in front of you all of a sudden, with that throttle set up and those flip flops, I'm betting on both parties going to hospital! You with massive toe /foot damage and whoever you run into cuts and scrapes.
Shame about the music
Nice videos, keep it up!
I dig the stoke! Snowshoes are essentially crampons
Lol that was great I was looking up stuff about diving bells because of black flag but I think that's a little cooler cause its a home made one
Such clear video. Wow. Wish we had that back when.
Nice! Going to take on this hike this year.
He's done a great job with low tech tools. I'm just amazed that his feet aren't shredded, not even a flip-flop in sight 😲
Looks like fun play underneath longer
And possibly die nah 😂
Pretty daring climbing down. Where is this place?!
White mountains new hampshire. I forget the exact area
They really put that shit ON the fire
I have been waiting for part 4 my whole life is making my catamaran but I cannot continue until you teach me !!!
Hi
Hey - trying to get out to Morris cave but I'm having trouble getting a good map of the cave/entrance location. How do you find the entrance and do you have any tips about the experience once inside?
It is right off rt 7. takes some time to find walking around the woods. There are some very tight pinches to get in the cave, but it does not require ropes. There is a wet pinch that often needs to be drained to pass through. The lake and corkscrew are surreal. If you are having trouble online, looks for books to find a map.
he has abandoned this project. maybe try again at something within your capability.
why so salty
I know you had fun ,I like your creativeness but everything for the air pump , bends, entrapment could be fatal .Peral Diver had home built stuff years ago they didnt understand things like under water PSI and air pump contamination fibers and oils .Check Mythbusters Diver Squeeze Sucked into Helmet ..Had that air line disconnected that plastic tent would have wrapped you up..Diving bells was solid walls .Becareful please.
The reason a diver would be squeezed into the helmet is because there's no one-way valve on the hose at the connection to the helmet. I'm not really sure why you mentioned that as it's not really an issue anymore. You just need a one way valve... that's not difficult to obtain.
@@justinnaramor6050 and use 2 eh.
@@greatlakesuperiordeepviewsvide I'm not sure what you mean by this. Can you elaborate?
@@justinnaramor6050 chill dude.
@@greatlakesuperiordeepviewsvide Hmm? I was kindly asking if you could elaborate. I'm not angry or worked up or something. So I'm not really sure why you said "chill dude".

If you're going to wipe out shorts and sandals are the best protection.
Yah.....but he looks fly!
Keep your head up, young man, you're doing a great job. Looking forward to your next video. Any idea on how wide it'll be? Good luck 👍
probably 6ft beam, thanks!
Did you even let your first layer of fiberglass dry for 24 hours then sand it to get the rough areas out before you added your 2nd larger layer?
No you want a chemical bond. Gotta add layers when still tacky
I don't know why your not using a tube sausage paint roller 6' long or a paint brush. But using a 2" or 3" metal putty knife is the wrong tool for doing FIBERGLASS or even Epoxy. Plus when you used the wood filler you didn't let it dry for 24 hours. Nor did you sand down the rough edges. Or wear the proper PPE to protect your skin. That Resin can cause Liver or Eye damage!
Cross cutting free hand on a table saw ? How damn stupid can you get . DO NOT DO THIS PEOPLE , YOU WILL GET HURT !
You make watchable videos Bro. No waffle and your images do the talking. great stuff. 👍
