I finally managed to achieve my goal of building a water rocket that will fly at least 100 m. This rocket flew about 140 m, and it is only Phase 1 of this project. Stay tuned! Video shows building process and first flight. Kolejne, znacznie lepsze loty rakiety. Przede wszystkim udało nam się stworzyć rakietę która utrzymuje wysokie ciśnienia (4-6 bar). Spadochron nadal nie działa w 100%. Nad tym będziemy pracować. Jeżeli ci się spodobało, daj like i suba ;)

Pierwsze loty w tym roku, i pierwsze z kamerą na pokładzie. Jeżeli się spodobało, mile widziana łapka w górę :)

    Nice quality work with your rocket build! 140m is impressive - a great achievement.👍

    Hey, super cool rocket 🚀 How did you deploy the parachute?

    • @WaterRocketsFUN
      @WaterRocketsFUN 8 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Thanks! The parachute is held with a plastic door, released at apogee by a servo that is activated by a simple electronic timer. The time of deploy is set based on data from online water rocket simulators.

    Nice Rocket! Don't see many fully painted Water Rockets

    First time seeing fiberglassing over pet bottles. Pet alone holds the preasure, fibers just prevents deformations? Or bottles are only a frame for fiberglass?

    • @WaterRocketsFUN
      @WaterRocketsFUN 12 วันที่ผ่านมา

      It's a little bit of both. PET bottle can hold up to 10 bar, but here we have 7 (propably not ideal) glue joints, which are weaker than non-cut bottles. The purpose of fiberglass is to stiffen the structure and hold it together.

      With 2 wraps of 200gsm fiberglass the PET bottles can hold ~300psi. The PET bottles themselves will fail around 180-190psi.

    Great build and video! I have a question though, which glue/adhesive did you use to splice the bottles together?

    Nice flights, and a great video! Sorry to see the crash there at the end. Consider using braided nylon line for your shock cord, that should hold up for higher speed deploys. Best of luck with the rebuild and higher pressure launches.

      Thanks George! I'm glad you like the video :) First of all, you need to know, that you and your videos inspired me to build these rockets - years ago! As for the shock cord, I already bought right one for next flights, however, the main reason for breaking the shock cord - was too late activation of the recovery system, because the rocket flew much lower than expected - and the timer was set for different altitude. I "hope" it will fly again soon :)

    What a shame the rocket exploded! It looked like the tornado tube was leaking foam before the explosion as well. What is that glue you used for the splicing? It is very white in color, which hints that it was silicone based. Silicones are not too great for splices. Have you tried a Polyurethane glue? We have a splice test of PL premium on our channel that holds pressure to about 200PSI (almost 14 bar).

      @WaterRocketsFUN 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      USWaterRockets This is epoxy glue. Pl premium is unavailable in my country. In the nearest future I will try to buy some Polyurethane glue. The tornado tube was inaccurately jointed.

    Great rocket! Amazing sound when they pop isn't it? Might want to.increase your pump hose length a bit.

    What model camera are you using? The video looks different than the ones most people use. Is it an 808 camera of some kind?

    • @WaterRocketsFUN
      @WaterRocketsFUN 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello! It's just a MD80 camera.

    • @USWaterRockets
      @USWaterRockets 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      We used some MD80 cameras before and the video was not as good as yours. They must have made improvements to the camera or firmware over time. Thanks for the info.
