Bridlington- Town and Harbour- walk with me through post Covid Pandemic Bridlington.
At the end if the Covid Pandemic when lockdowns ended, Bridlington looked desperate and derelict.
Shops were closed and the whole town looked as though it was finished.
The streets of Bridlington were covered in seagull poo - paint was peeling and some premises looked as though they had not been painted since the 1940’s at the end of WW2.
It’s great to see Bridlington has recovered so well in the last 3 years or so.
This is a walk through Bridlington and then back down onto Bridlington harbour- around 1hr since the end of the previous video ( titled Bridlington’s Secret Wood)
You can see the weak winter sun on the North Sea with Bridlington North Beach now being exposed by a falling tide.
The Chalk white cliffs of Flamborough Head loom out of the sea fog.
Much of the UK has suffered economic decline in recent years due to multiple causes.
Here, at Bridlington the World Class Lobster fishing industry seems to lead the recovery and Bridlington remains a popular UK holiday destination, as well as a great day trip destination for visitors from West Yorkshire such as ourselves.
If you’re considering a day trip, I suggest you consider consulting a Tide Table, ( available online) as there is much more activity in the harbour and out at sea when the high tide fills the harbour.
